Bonded takes us back to the time of slavery. The play itself is set in 1820, Virginia. The protagonists of this play are Sonny (Terrence Colby Clemons), Lily (Toyin Moses), Jack (Carl Crudup), and Asa (Eric B. Anthony). This play does not seem to have an antagonist, the antagonist exist in another form. Slavery is in a sense, an antagonist along with the element of homosexuality. The protagonists aims to just live life off before Asa came along. The conflict starts when Asa was purchased as a slave, through numerous twist and turns including Jack lusts for Lily whom only likes Sonny, and Asa being a rebellious which caused trouble for Sonny, the play was able to develop into something far more different than expected. We, as audiences were able to see the build up of tensions and suspense that would spring up during this short play. Bonded by Donald Jolly had a very clear message in this short play. The playwright wanted us to see the taboo of homosexuality during the old slavery days. From today you can relate that homosexuality is not quite as accepted even though we are more open minded than in the 1820s. We can assume that homosexuality was even more criticized and hated than today. At least homosexuality is more tolerated than today, so I can't really imagine what it would be like for homosexuals in the past. Sonny and Asa portrays that quarrel and hatreds can into mutual attraction which shows the hidden message that homosexuality shouldn't be despised as long as there is no harm to anyone else, people should be free to express their feelings which is ironic in a way because Jolly used slaves to portray this free feeling when slaves are anything but free. In a way this also relates to life because there will always be a sort of triangle relationship, someone will always be left out because there is no room for their love. It shows the fears and helplessness of love which also exists in today's modern world. Love is not something that will return in the same manner that you give out, you do not reap what you sow. People do not always return affection. The acting of the main characters were very thorough in a way. I feel that they exaggerate in some parts while in other parts there are not enough emotions. The play did have a simple plot with hidden messages, but with all said and done, the acting was pretty good. Even though it has a simple plot I believe that to actually act it out requires some sort of charisma. I wouldn't be able to act out this play because some scene was rather uncomfortable and it feels that it would be hard to portray it to the best of my abilities. Beside some scenes, the play's overall acting was more than acceptable, I feel that the actors and actress really did bring out that passion for the characters that they are playing, it feels that they are one and the same. I was able to suspend my belief because it feels that the emotions were real, I could feel their pain, their happiness, and their suffering. They were able to bring me back to the 1820s. I liked Asa's character more though, I really felt that Eric played this part well. He is not afraid of expressing his love even though it's taboo and his rebellious nature really fits in with his nature of love. The visual of the play fitted rather well with the overall makeup of the play. The audiences sat in this small space where we can see the actors directly. The wood set were also movable which helped show different scenes of the play, like the plowing of the fields and their bed. It was creative yet simple. I really liked the sound effects because it fits in rather nicely at the right time. The lightning was also good, but at different scene I feel that it could be adjusted a little bit more to fit in with the overall mood of the actors and actress so it could help them feel the characters more, but the lightning in combination with the acting fit in pretty well, at certain times it did fit in with scenes, particularly the ending where the gunshots go off and the stage dims. The costumes, in my opinion, fitted well with the characters. The characters being slaves would not have any good clothing, so when they looked messy and dirty it allowed me to understand them a bit more, especially when they didn't have shoes, when Sonny took Asa shoes he was happy which shows that how bad it was being a slave. Overall the play affected me in a good way because its relevance to life was uncanny. Like how there was an Act 1, intermission, and Act 2, it relates to the different chapter of life that everybody has. Everybody has their own chapter of life whether its happiness or sad. I wouldn't say that it changed my life, but it got me thinking of how life is controlled by society, we can see that homosexuals are looked in a negative light when they have done nothing wrong. People are just not able to accept that everyone is different. Looking back I do sometimes feel that homosexuality is wrong, I feel that since that there are males and females, going with the same gender is pretty messed up. After the play it feels that homosexuality should be more accepted rather than just being tolerated by everyone else, hatred should be turned into acceptance. In a way it shows how slow society progress in some areas, 1820s compared to today would not be so much different. My favorite scene, however, was when Asa was sleeping and Sonny was bothering him, the following scene where he woke up and described the dream and the look on Sonny's face was priceless, but it felt wrong because it was a sexual innuendo. I didn't like the naked scenes for obvious reasons, I felt the play could have done without it, it felt weird watching naked scenes, perhaps it is my conservative nature. After all said and done I would wholeheartedly recommend the plays to others, I feel that the play is up to par with good standards. The playwright and cast involved really put a lot of work into the acting, visual effects, and the hidden messages, etc. The title of the play was also good, Bonded can be scene physically and emotionally. They, being slaves are bonded to their owners and their love is also bonded by mutual attraction, in a sense their physical self and emotional self do not belong to themselves.

Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating

...Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating Engineers and Researchers have found that fusion bonded epoxy coating is the practical and scientific way for protecting steel reinforcement against corrosion Applying an epoxy coating to steel rebar prevents the chlorides from reaching the steel surface. And since the material is applied to the rebar at a mill away from the job site, it is not weather dependent and will not cause construction delays Cracks in the concrete, allowing penetration of chloride bearing waters, is not a factor because the protection is applied on the bar surface where the problem is usually observed. The most effective form of epoxy coating is the fusion bonded method. This allows the coating to achieve adhesion as the result of the heat-catalyzed reaction. An epoxy coating is formed by combining an epoxy resin with the appropriate curing agents, filters, pigments, catalyst and leveling and flow control agents to achieve the desired characteristics It is applied from an electrostatic charged powder state to a pre-heated rebar. The powder when comes in contact with the hot bar, it melts, gets and cures to a well adhered, continuous corrosion resistant coating. The first fusion bonded epoxy coating designed specifically for reinforcing steel was put in the market in 1976. Since then, continuous research, design and testing have taken place which have enhanced and confirmed the effectiveness of fusion bonded epoxy coated rebar [FBECR] in preventing steel corrosion...

Bonded Warehouse

...1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF STUDY The hallmark of the globalization process in the world today is to create a trend of unit business that stands separate but complement the attempt at establishing an integrated network of services for the greater benefit of the people. It was explained that the activities of agencies and agents attached to the clearance of cargo from the ports has in recent times altered this process creating all sorts of bottlenecks. This has caused a negative set up to the roles of the ports from the traditional transit point of cargo to that of warehousing facilities (Ajala, 2001). The global maritime industry is inclined on the movement of cargo from one port to another. He said that the bulk of world trade owes its success to the efficiency or otherwise of the maritime industry which is arguably the most ancient yet effective means of trade (Autry, 2001). In this global trade, the ports play the most significant roles as the point of entry for cargoes. It will therefore be appropriate to describe the ports as the center point of world trade (Awoletu, 2000) Nigerian seaports are perhaps one of the very few in the world that are majorly service ports. The port industry has over the year been responsible for over 90% of the physical carriage of Nigeria's external trade (Badejo, 2002). The importance of this mode of transportation derives not only from its fundamental overriding economics and untapped marketing, but also from the lack of a more efficient...

...BONDED LABOR IN ABROAD Bonded labor is a person's pledge of their labor or services as repayment for a loan or other debt. The services required to repay the debt may be undefined, and the services duration may be undefined. Debt bondage can be passed on from generation to generation. The issue of bonded labor may receive marginal attention globally, but bonded labor is the most extensive form of slavery in the world today. There were approximately 18 to 20.5 million bonded laborers in the world at the end of 2011, almost 90% of whom were in South Asia. This means that approximately half of the slaves in the world are bonded laborers in South Asia, particularly in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and in America and Africa. In America In the Americas, peonage was extended to include criminal peonage, where prisoners sentenced to hard labor were 'farmed out' to private or governmental groups. Peonage is a type of involuntary servitude of laborers (peons) having little control over their employment conditions. Peonage existed historically during the colonial period, especially in Latin America. As the New Mexico laws supported peonage, the US Congress passed an anti-peonage law on March 2, 1867. The current version of this statute is codified at Chapter 21-I of 42 U.S.C. § 1994 and makes no specific mention of New Mexico. In Africa Africa has its own unique version of debt bondage. Afrocentric academics claim that this was a much milder form of debt bondage...

...the carbon chain from the left results in side groups (methyl groups) at positions 3 and 4. Numbering the carbon chain from the other will result in side groups at positions 4 and 5. Since the goal is to obtain the lowest numbering position for a side group, the correct name is 3,4– dimethylheptane. Note that the prefix “di-” is used to denote that two methyl side groups are present in this molecule. d) At first glance, this molecule looks like a 4 carbon ring, but the two –CH3 groups mean that they cannot be bonded to each other. Instead, this molecule is a 4–carbon chain, with two methyl groups (dimethyl) located at the position 2 carbon. The correct name is 2,2–dimethylbutane. 15.21 An optically active compound will contain at least one chiral center, a carbon with four distinct groups bonded to it. a) This compound is a 6 carbon chain with a Br on the third carbon. 3–bromohexane is optically active because carbon #3 has four distinct groups bonded to it: 1) –Br, 2) –H, 3) –CH2CH3, 4) –CH2CH2CH3. chiral carbon CH3 CH2 CH CH2 CH2 CH3...

Ball Bond Reliabilty: Fem of Pull and Shear Test

...Ball Bond Reliability: Simulation of Pull and Shear Test 1. This is a student paper, and some names have changed from the original abstract. I’m Electrical Engineering student and the topic is the simulation of pull and shear tests for ball bonds by finite element methods. 2. Here we see a Au ball bond, and models that we have created in AYSYS at the university to simulate it. The bond ball shown is fully bonded to a pad Al film, which is bonded to other films in the bond pad stack of a 4-level metal IC. We use 3D modeling with about 250-thousand nodes. The lower picture shows a simulated shear tool of W material. Pull test is simulated by applying a force to the top, and shear test is by applying a horizontal force to the W. Purposes for this project are listed here. We are using 3D FEM to simulate the stresses experienced by the ball bond during pull and shear testing. We want to examine the stress locations and magnitudes, and see what a bond might experience as we change the wire material, pull angle, bond pad metallization, pad Al thickness, and circuitry under pad. 3. The Bond Pull Strength test typically follows a Mil standard, 883G method 2011. 25-micron Au wire is considered reliable if the bond does not pull off below 3 gram-Force, or about 30milli-Newtons. The pull angle for the bond on the IC can actually vary in practice. 4. The Bond Shear test follows a JEDEC standard in JESD22, method B116A . In this test, the tool pushes on...

Acda Department of Forest Products and Paper Science, College of Forestry and Natural Resources University of the Philippines Los Baños, College, Laguna 4031 Philippines This study investigated the use of waste chicken feather (barbs and rachis) as reinforcement in cement-bonded composites. A series of composite boards consisting of various proportions of waste feather, cement, sand, and chemical admixtures were prepared. Mix workability decreased significantly as the proportion by weight of feathers or ground feathers increased from 5% to 20%. Boards containing 5% to 10% fiber and/or ground feather by weight showed comparable strength and dimensional stability to commercial wood fiber-cement composites of similar thickness and density. Stiffness, flexural strength, and dimensional stability of the feather-cement boards decreased as the proportion of feathers was increased above 10%. Higher proportions of feather, however, showed significant reduction in modulus of elasticity (MOE) and modulus of rupture (MOR), and increased water absorption and thickness swelling after 24 hours of soaking in water.
