Assessment
Phase1: The System Description
In this step we will be looking at the whole Btech Lab system as described above analysing the current boundaries of the system, and also looking at the elements that define the system along with the resources that are in the Btech lab.

Phase 2: The Identification of Threat
This step looks at the current threats that are a risk to the security of the Btech Lab and ways to limit the risk of occurrence. One threat that is identified is the unauthorized users that utilize the Lab, the current security access used is a finger print system (Biometrics system) but students bring their friend and open for them which the increases the risk of theft and damage of equipment.

The Operational Controls
The main focus of the operational control is the current security tools that are implemented and are used by the users/students including physical and network security.
The Technical Controls
This is the hardware and the software automated protection control to the system.

The Risk Assessment Process
In this section we will be addressing and assessing the possible risks that may occur in the Btech Lab.
Initial Risk Assessment Phase 1: Defining the nature of risk assessment
This section involves assessing the current risks faced by the Lab environment and the existing security levels. The information required to manage and to ensure the System Administrator is able to address the risks and find ways of resolving them. INTROCUCTION
Purpose
This risk assessment is created to measure the competency of the IT Btech Lab security. A qualitative assessment for the operational model has been provided on this risk assessment. Threats, risk, sensitivity, vulnerability and safeguards are addressed as part of this risk assessment. This assessment recommends the deployment of cost-effective safeguards to minimize threat and associated gullible vulnerability.
Scope
The scope of this risk assessment evaluated the Btech Lab system’s use of resources and controls, meaning implemented systems or planned systems to remove and manage vulnerabilities exploitable by threats internal and external to the IT Btech Lab. If then misused, these vulnerabilities could result in:
Unauthorized disclosure of data
Unauthorized modification to the system, its data, or both
Denial of service, access to data, or both to authorized users
This Risk Assessment Report evaluates the

Preventing unauthorized disclosure of information from the Lab to the third parties. Including disclosure about resources information.
