Anyone, knows about International Trading? What can you say about it? You Nicole
G2: For me, international trading is the exchange of goods and services by different countries. If you go into a supermarket and buy a Korean kimchi, by that situation, you are experiencing the effects of International Trade.
G3: Exactly, anything else ?
G3 In the international trading, we have exporting. Export is the exchange of goods and services from home to the other countries. It makes more dollars that will circulate in our country prior to Philippine gold reserves.
G4: In the latter, import is also included. It is good for the country that has lack of supply of goods because sometimes it’s not available or too expensive in the home country. But sometimes, import is not good as export. Why? Maybe because of buying, in general business settings, selling is more essential. G5: Also , we need Protectionism it’s the practice of nations to protect domestic industries and their workers by providing subsidies for their production and imposing tariffs on competing foreign products. Yet protectionism has been blamed for closing off trade from foreign countries, raising prices and giving domestic consumers less choice. A country that practices protectionism can just as easily be subjected to it by other countries imposing their own import tariffs and awarding subsidies to their industries.
G1: That’s full of information. Can you add more?
G3: And also it allows the domestic markets to expand our tangible and intangible product to the other nation

This report will be focused Stryker Corporation’s capital budgeting process and identifying some of the strengths and weaknesses that come along with it. The missions of CERs and the capital budgeting at Stryker: Stryker Corporation has had an outstanding growing background since it started. They have a benchmark of 20% growth annually, and one of the reasons the firm has been able to do this is their way of managing their capital budgeting process. Stryker used CERs (Capital Expenditure Requests) in their capital allocation process. These were basically permission forms that were submitted to be filled out by the authorities in order to get allowance to spend a certain amount of money. The mission of the CERs and the capital budgeting process at striker is to standardize and formalize the capital budgeting process. The CERs made it easier for the company to keep track of the expenditures that were made in each division. Thus, the firm was able to support cash flow targets and maintain the 20% growth of the company. The CERs have been shaped by elements of corporate finance theory. The fact that the CERs are made to have a smarter way of managing the expenditures of the company, automatically refers to the principal goal of corporate finance which is to maximize shareholder’s wealth. Since the CERs are helping...

Therefore financial managers must consider these issues carefully when making capital budgeting decisions. Inflation is one of the important parameters that govern the financial issues on capital budgeting decisions. Managers evaluate the estimated future returns of competing investment alternatives. Some of the alternatives considered may involve more risk than others. For example, one alternative may fairly assure future cash flows, whereas another may have a chance of yielding higher cash flows but may also result in lower returns. It is because, apart from other things, inflation plays a vital role on capital budgeting decisions and is a common fact of life all over the world. ...Street and Skint only exist for the pointless, low-brow entertainment for the careless viewers who enjoy a certain sense of superiority, as these people are being paraded around purely so we can laugh at them then sink back into their comfortable, benefit-free lives with a glass of champagne, unaffected by the struggles portrayed on our TV screens. These programmes find their focus in portraying the lower class, otherwise classified by the media as the ‘underclass’, as nothing more than low life scum who achieve nothing in life but signing on at 18 with no GCSE’s, 7 kids, 3 cats and a state-funded goldfish. This isn’t always the case. Not everyone breeds for a bigger house and more money. There are actually people who claim job seekers allowance who have different interests in life. I bet you didn’t know that these people existed did you? Yet, these programmes don’t show that, they only show the people who adhere to the characteristics of this ridiculous stereotype – adolescent mothers, smokers, drinkers and scruffs. The directors of these appalling programmes are extruding this corrupt idea that these individuals don’t want to work and only aspire to sit on their arses all day overindulging on crap, watching TV with a ‘tinny’ and spending our tax money. But what about the people who do aspire to be something? The people who don’t simply sit around wasting their lives and large chunks of the tax payer’s money, the people who actually try to find jobs, but whom don’t succeed because...

Misuse of Investment Apprasial Techniques

...misapplication of capital investment appraisal techniques Colin Drury Professor, University of Huddersfield, Huddersfield, UK Mike Tayles Lecturer, University of Bradford, Bradford, UK Surveys of capital budgeting practices in the UK and USA reveal a trend towards the increased use of more sophisticated investment appraisals requiring the application of discounted cash flow (DCF) techniques. Several writers, however, have claimed that companies are underinvesting because they misapply or misinterpret DCF techniques. Such claims have been made on the basis of observations in only a few companies, or anecdotal evidence, without any supporting statistical evidence. Reports on a recent survey conducted by the authors which suggests that many UK firms are guilty of misapplying DCF techniques. Also provides evidence relating to some issues that have not been thoroughly examined in previous studies, namely the impact of company size and the relative importance that firms attach to different investment appraisal techniques. An examination of the surveys of capital budgeting practices that have been undertaken during the past 20 years in both the UK and USA reveals a trend towards a continuing increase in the use of more sophisticated capital budgeting techniques. In a longitudinal survey of capital budgeting practices of large UK companies between 1975 and 1992 Pike (1996) reported a substantial increase in the usage of discounted cash flow (DCF) and risk appraisal techniques. In 1975 32 per cent and...
