...Windshield Survey Assessment Paper Windshield Survey Assessment Paper Physical The city of Victorville began in 1962 and started off with a population of 8,000 that has grown to be a population of 121,000, and continues to grow (92392 Zip Code Population and Races, n.d.). The condition of the houses appear to be in mint condition with the exception of some homes in the area of El Evado and Pacoima that have lawns that are dead and full of weeds. The paint on these homes are chipped and not well kept. There are many apartments in Victorville that appear to look old on the outside, but each apartment building has been renovated to look more twenty first century. There aren't many abandoned houses in the city of Victorville but there abandoned vehicles in front of houses that have oxidized paint and dust covering them. The houses in the neighborhoods are very similar in their layout, the only difference each house has is the color of the paint on outside of the house. Some residents have also added on additions to their homes such as extra rooms or in ground pools, which have raised the equity in these homes. There is one abandoned building that stands out in Victorville and that is because it is in a shopping center that has flourishing businesses within that same parking lot that use to be an Albertsons. This building has been empty for a couple years and is located on Bear Valley and Amargosa. There is a large number of stray dogs in Victorville due to the faulty wooden...

...Statistical Databases Jaideep Srivastava and Hung Q. Ngo, Department of Computer Science, University of Minnesota, 200 Union street, EE/CS Building, room 4-192, Minneapolis, MN 55455 e-mail: srivasta, hngo @cs.umn.edu, ¡ 1 Introduction A statistical database management system (SDBMS) is a database management system that can model, store and manipulate data in a manner well suited to the needs of users who want to perform statistical analyses on the data. Statistical databases have some special characteristics and requirements that are not supported by existing commercial database management systems. For example, while basic aggregation operations like SUM and AVG are part of SQL, there is no support for other commonly used operations like variance and co-variance. Such computations, as well as more advanced ones like regression and principal component analysis, are usually performed using statistical packages and libraries, such as SAS [1] and SPSS [2]. From the end user’s perspective, whether the statistical calculations are being performed in the database or in a statistical package can be quite transparent, especially from a functionality viewpoint. However, once the datasets to be analyzed grow beyond a certain size, the statistical package approach becomes infeasible, either due to its inability to handle large volumes of data, or the unacceptable computation times which make interactive analysis impossible. With the increasing sophistication of data collection instrumentation...

This notion is captured in terms of the possible repaired versions of the database. A rnethod for computing consistent answers is given and its soundness and completeness (for some classes of constraints and queries) proved. The method is based on an iterative procedure whose termination for several classes of constraints is proved as well. 1 Introduction Integrity constraints capture an important normative aspect of every database application. However, it is often the case that their satisfaction cannot be guaranteed, allowing for the existence of inconsistent database instances. In that case, it is important to know which query answers are consistent with the integrity comtraints and which are not. In this paper, we provide a logical characterization of consistent query answers in...

Unfortunately, uncertainties in these complex, dynamic domains obstruct coherent teamwork. In particular, team members often encounter di ering, incomplete, and possibly inconsistent views of their environment. Furthermore, team members can unexpectedly fail in ful lling responsibilities or discover unexpected opportunities. Highly exible coordination and communication is key in addressing such uncertainties. Simply tting individual agents with precomputed coordination plans will not do, for their in exibility can cause severe failures in teamwork, and their domain-speci city hinders reusability. Our central hypothesis is that the key to such exibility and reusability is providing agents with general models of teamwork. Agents exploit such models to autonomously reason about coordination and communication, providing requisite exibility. Furthermore, the models enable reuse across domains, both saving implementation e ort and enforcing consistency. This...

...With permission of the CICA, a consortium made up of members from each of the four provincial CA professional programs updated the following simulation and evaluation guide to reflect the CICA Handbook standards, the Tax laws and the UFE Candidates Competency Map in effect as of March 31, 2011. Any changes to the original material are the sole responsibility of the consortium and have not been reviewed or endorsed by the CICA. The assumption was made that private companies will apply Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and public companies International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)*. The assumption was also made that the accounting framework had been in place for several years. Dates in the simulation have not been changed. * Note: For the 2011 UFE, a candidate might be required to determine whether ASPE or IFRS is appropriate under the circumstances. © 2011 Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario Paper II - SIMULATION 3 (70 minutes) You, CA, have just been hired by Doctor Robert Blake (Doctor Bob) as a part-time accountant for his new clinic located in the province of Quebec. ...designed to develop screenerinterviewers for the Army's Military Intelligence personnel tasked with interviewing civilian contractors interested in applying for positions of trust with the US Government. This powerpoint slide presentation is the product this author put together for the United States Army. It takes us through the major steps necessary to show how two things happen. First are the roles played by the main participants in this effort, i.e., the Army and several contractors bringing together civilians who wish to hire on as linguists to the military to work shoulder to shoulder with the forces deployed in the Middle East combat zones. These candidates would be native speakers of arabic, farsi, pashto, urdu and other languages needed in the area. Second, the new screeners are also in training to become experienced at interviewing these linguist candidates. The new screeners are mostly not used to interviewing anyone, so interrogators who are already skilled counter intelligence interviewers are selected to train the other military intelligence soldiers as to methods of obtaining personal information from the candidates who come to the interview with already filled out documentation as to their biographical background, which is of interest to the US government. Following will be 16 slides and a brief description in between each of them as to how one process transitions in to another and applies to the overall training. 2 Curriculum Goals and Development ...

...The United States faces a long battle to repair its economy. Issues like unemployment, the federal budget deficit, immigration, gun control, etc, seem to create never ending discussions without any resolution. The healthcare system is one of the many issues that have been affected by the economic crisis and according to president Barrack Obama, reform is a must. Besides all economic factors affecting the healthcare system, the system has been blamed for inefficiency, excessive administrative expenses, inappropriate waste, and fraud and abuse. Many Americans today are having trouble keeping up with the continue rise of healthcare costs and many firms cannot afford to provide coverage to their employees. Although the government is working on a reform for the healthcare system, many questions are still pending to be answered. One question that has raised polemic discussions around the country is: should the U.S. government provide healthcare to all citizens? While many feel there should be a simple yes or no to this questions, many others realize that we do have to consider any potential ethical, moral or legal issues that can cause collateral damage to our economy and also the healthcare system. President Obama has been focusing on a reform for the healthcare system prior to his first election and to give a little overview of his reform, according to The White House (2013), see table below: Overview of Health Reform “It makes insurance more affordable by providing the largest...

...An Oracle White Paper February 2012 2012 B2B E-Commerce Survey: Results and Trends 2012 B2B E-Commerce Survey: Results and Trends Introduction Although business to consumer (B2C) gets a lot of attention for being on the “sexy” side of ecommerce, 2010 U.S. Census data shows estimates for business to business (B2B) revenue transacted online—not through electronic data interchange (EDI)—at approximately US$300 billion. Compare that with almost $200 billion in retail transactions, and the B2B commerce story suddenly becomes more interesting. Additionally, with 50 percent more revenue than retail—according to a 2011 B2B online survey—the adoption among B2B entities of e-commerce has just begun, with only 25 percent of the B2B companies represented having an e-commerce site and significantly less than that having a site that is current. B2B e-commerce transactions are also more complex. Most involve more than two decisionmakers, but 28 percent have five or more decision-makers involved in the process. All this data points to the fact that the next decade will be an innovative and demanding one for B2B e-commerce. With this landscape in mind, this white paper publishes the results from a 2011 survey of B2B e-commerce professionals and provides insight into key trends and areas of investment for building an online presence. 1 2012 B2B E-Commerce Survey: Results and Trends About the Survey In November 2011, Endeca (acquired by Oracle in February 2012) conducted a...
