...The motivation of the astronauts in SkyLab 3 was particularly affected adversely by personal and task conflict between the team of astronauts and the team on the ground in mission control. Were a lengthy and meaningful sit-down meeting prior to launch implemented, parties on both sides would have an opportunity to voice concerns over the mission. There existed an evident lack of trust between the astronauts and mission control in SkyLab 3; while the astronauts were voicing their concerns over the amount of time they spent working, they felt effectively ignored by Hutchinson who continued to schedule lengthy workdays. The astronauts likely found Hutchinson insensitive to their needs, leading to personal conflict between them. A sit-down meeting prior to launch would help to build a climate of trust between these two parties and enforce an atmosphere wherein both the astronauts and mission control feel comfortable both voicing their concerns and addressing the concerns of the others. While Hutchinson’s apparent insensitivity during SkyLab 3 in this regard contributed to a deficiency of the astronauts’ motivation so intense that the astronauts felt it appropriate to stop working entirely and go on strike. The enforcement of a climate of trust via this meeting would ideally make Hutchinson more prone to heeding the comments of the astronauts and reduce the incidence of personal conflict; the astronauts will then feel...

...Organized Space (OS), a small business located in in the Midwest in the city of Jefferson continues to be a profitable for the last 10 years. The owner Orlando Nero, is considering expanding the business thru franchising. His company specializes in designing space and installing furniture and shelving for customized home offices, craft rooms, laundry rooms, and closet organizers. Mr. Nero recently did research on the pros and cons of franchising. He’s aware that he has to clearly define his goals/expectations for the potential franchising of OS. Franchising would provide more financial stability for Mr. Nero; the potential franchisee would make royalty payments to him. The franchisee would assume the majority of the risk if the franchised store...

(Signed) …………………………………. RIGA, 2008 2 SUMMARY In Part I the general provisions of space treaties and principles of public international law briefly summarized. An overview of “appropriate state”, “launching state” terms and international responsibility and liability issues also discussed there. Part I is supposed to introduce current international legal tools available for the regulation of space activities. It explains what is international space law, why it is important and how does it work. Moreover, certain aspects of legal treatment of governmental and non-governmental entities are comprehensively discussed. The analogy between international space law and maritime law was also reiterated. Part I particularly examines each of three main space treaties and the problematic points arising from their interpretation. The enforcement mechanism is also analyzed. It was the idea to pick up an issue and then to analyze it using the common sense and legal logic with the view...

...Introduction- The purpose of this paper is to discuss a rarest case of hidden maxillary tooth in infra-orbital space following trauma. Pediatric dental injuries leading to traumatic tooth displacement is common in children, although it very rare and sometimes challenging to diagnose and treat traumatically embedded tooth in vital tissue spaces which may lead to serious complications if ignored. Case report- A 4-year old male child was brought with injuries on his face and mouth and swelling over left side of face, resulting from fall. The intra-oral examination revealed absence of all maxillary incisors. The paranasal sinus view showed a vague tooth-like object embedded in the floor of left orbit. The correct location and type of tooth could not be ascertained till the end of procedure. Comments- The above case is about the importance of seeking every tooth lost in trauma. It discusses complications of not following standard protocol for diagnosis and treatment in such rare cases. Key Words: dental trauma, embedded tooth, hidden, infra-orbital space, seeking, standard protocol. Introduction...

...Space Shuttle Challenger Case I have read and studied the Space Shutter Challenger Case thoroughly and I believe that the most important failure of the case study was due to many factors which include personality, communication and motivation among the members of the group. In terms of personality, I believe the part of the failure was due to the mix of strong and weak personalities among the group. The stronger personalities which included Mason and Wiggins used direct pressure to influence Lund in to agreeing with their decision. Mason told Lund to take off his engineering hat and to put on his management hat. I believe that Mason and Wiggins used their strong and domineering personalities to influence Lund. This is a contributing factor to the failure of the space shuttle launch. Another aspect of the failure of the case is due to the poor communication between the Thiokol engineers and management. The Thiokol engineers had expressed their concerns to management about the reliability of the O-Rings being used on the space shuttles but a review committee concluded that they were safe to use and if a problem did arise there were secondary O-rings in place. In the flights leading up to the challengers departure, there was evidence that there were serious problems with the O-rings. On the eve of the launch, the weather forecast was unusually cold for Florida weather, with temperatures in the low twenty’s. Thiokol expressed concern that the O-rings would not work properly...

...University MAT 540 Dr. Negash Begashaw March 2, 2015 In the case study regarding Julia’s food booth a solution needs to be determined as to if investing in a booth to sell food during Tech football games is a sound investment. Julia is considering leasing a booth to sell food outside of Tech stadium at home football games to generate revenue in order to finance her final year at the school. After all of her expenses are paid Julia wants to bring in a profit of $ 1,000 per game. If she can accomplish this then she feels that it will be worth the money to invest in a booth. The fixed cost associated with leasing the booth would include $1,000 per game for booth rental and $600 to lease a warming oven for the six home football games. Julia’s has $1,500 available cash, which she will use to purchase and prepare the food for the first game. For the remaining home games she plans on using funds generated from the previous game to purchase her ingredients. In order to help Julia determine if she should lease a booth a linear programming model should be formulated and solved. The first step in setting up the model is to determine the variables. The variables for this case include: x1 =Pizza, x2 = Hotdogs, and x3= BBQ sandwiches. These variables are the three food choices Julia wishes to sell at her booth. Julia’s objective function in this case is to maximize profit (maximize Z). Julia’s objective function in this case equates to Maximize Z = .75x1 + 1.05x2 + 1.35x3 =0. Within...

...CASE BRIEF Case and Citation Minnesota v Clover Leaf Creamery, 449 U.S. 456 (1981) Court Rendering Decision U.S. Supreme Court Identification of Parties In this case, Clover Leaf Creamery is the Plaintiff in this case against the defendant the State of Minnesota challenging the constitutionality of the state under the Equal Protection Clause, alleging that there was no basis for the state banning the retail sale of milk in plastic nonreturnable, non-refillable containers such as paperboard milk cartons. Decision of the Facts In 1977 Minnesota legislature a statue of banning the retail sale of milk in plastic cartons to control the solid waste arguing that plastic containers take up more space in waste disposal dumps. The case was brought to the Minnesota Supreme court and found evidence to the contrary. They found out that the jugs took up more space than the plastic cartons in a land fill. Statement and Discussion of the Legal Issues in Dispute The legal statue that is being debated in this case is whether the Minnesota statue that was passed in 1977 is unconstitutional even though it has been proven that the jugs take up more space in a landfill. The statue actually permits the sale of these products even though they take up less space and use less energy to produce. The issue is also to decide if this statue is still rational based on the new information that has been provided obviously showing that the information on trash disposal is incorrect. Subject Court Final...

Conclusion 19 BIBLIOGRAPHY ABSTRACT This research focuses upon the experience of urban Space by evaluating human behavior and space to human relations. In addition, approaches to installation of temporary activities into the public realm and its impact that these can have upon perception, identity and activities within public space. This research explores the essential presence of temporary activities with in a city ,which requires a critical understanding of the functioning of public space .Finally this research would suggest possibilities of better spatial pattern to enhance spatial interaction and revive urban identities. CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION: If an urban environment is to be considered as a spatial ‘system’ and it is to be valued as a whole, “one must consider its parts in relation to its parts, its parts in relation to the whole and the whole in relation to the parts” (Archer et al., 1984, p. 8). People tend to respond to their environment according to their experiences, structuring and information obtained from the space. The long time scales of developing urban identity coupled with the short intense bursts of design input into the urban environment require an empirical approach to be adopted if successful and failed...

...the tesseract. The square is bounded by 1-dimensional lines, the cube by 2-dimensional areas, and the tesseract by 3-dimensional volumes. A projection of the cube is given since it is viewed on a two-dimensional screen. The same applies to the tesseract, which additionally can only be shown as a projection even in three-dimensional space. A diagram showing the first four spatial dimensions. In physics and mathematics, the dimension of a space or object is informally defined as the minimum number of coordinates needed to specify any point within it.[1][2] Thus a line has a dimension of one because only one coordinate is needed to specify a point on it (for example, the point at 5 on a number line). A surface such as aplane or the surface of a cylinder or sphere has a dimension of two because two coordinates are needed to specify a point on it (for example, to locate a point on the surface of a sphere you need both its latitude and itslongitude). The inside of a cube, a cylinder or a sphere is three-dimensional because three co-ordinates are needed to locate a point within these spaces. In physical terms, dimension refers to the constituent structure of all space (cf. volume) and its position in time (perceived as a scalar dimension along the t-axis), as well as the spatial constitution of objects within – structures that have correlations with both particle and field conceptions, interact according to relative properties of mass, and which are fundamentally mathematical in description...
