Case Study B, Case 1: Doug Doug is a second-semester second grader who is having difficulties academically. While he enjoys discussions and hands-on learning, he becomes easily frustrated when he is told to copy or write. Doug receives resource room assistance in writing and has a learning disability. His teacher has set two goals for Doug to accomplish in the next three months: promptly begin independent work and increase the number of completed assignments.
Chosen Strategy: Criterion-Specific Rewards A criterion-specific reward system should be implemented in order to help Doug accomplish his goals. This type of system allows for specific behavior goals to be set and then rewarded immediately after the desired behavior has occurred.
