THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

This chapter discusses the related literatures and studies which has direct bearing in this study. This contributes a lot to the proponent’s research and established a good starting foundation for the proponents.
Review of Related Literatures and Studies
Computerized sales and inventory systems help manage products and ensure that transactions are completed correctly. These tools track products and provide ongoing inventory controls that reduce shrinkage. Use of these resources makes retail activities much easier and efficient. Using computerized sales and inventory systems allows for much greater accuracy in stocking and product management. They encourage ease of interaction between employees and shoppers as transactions are processed and items move from the business to the consumer. Computerized sales help provide better insight into which products are most popular. It also allows for enhanced marketing, stocking and oversight of critical sales objectives.
Computerized sales and inventory systems save time for businesses by speeding up transactions while raising accuracy. This allows for confidence in accounting and accountability among employees as it is easy to verify how much money is in a till and what time transactions took place. They also allow for consistent experiences in terms of customer service. People know there is always a uniform interaction at the register that requires tendering payment, taking a receipt and transition of ownership of products and services. This generates confidence in a business and ensures ongoing consumer relationships. Computerized systems are the most common method of inventory control and sales processing in retail markets.

Description of the Existing System
This part describes the present manual process of the respondent which starts from the purchasing/transaction of customers to inventory of stocks and reports.
On purchasing/transaction, the personnel ask the customer of what tour the customer needs. Then, the personnel will check if the desired tour(s) and vehicle is available. The manager will approve the transaction and will have to receive the payment for the transaction and will issue an official receipt.
When a customer transacts with the entity, it will be recorded in the cash sales report. At the end of the day, the manager will calculate all the transactions held according to the record of sales.
The respondent is presently using a manual system in their sales and inventory system, likewise to their other business engagement. Because of this, some problems arise such as complexity in operations due to increasing customers, data are often not secured and can be lost easily, and it has been a burden to the entity since a lot of work and efforts are needed to maintain its business transactions with the customers conveniently.

Korean Red Ginseng Enterprise – Sales and Inventory System

Under the Koread Red Ginseng Enterprise Sales and Inventory System, the researchers came up with a computerized sales and inventory system. The proponents used database to easy access of files and for easier and faster processing of the selling and inventory transaction. The program was designated to generate reports such as monthly reports, inventory reports, sales invoice and list of items. In connection with the proposed system, the proponents proposed a new and faster way of processing business transactions. The system also helped the user to know the availability of the products. It also helped the manager to monitor the stocks and to get immediate notice for acquisition of additional products. The Proponents acquires knowledge about the file processing and report generations through this study. It also gives the proponents ideas to create the proposed system’s reports in online sales and inventory system. Automation is mandatory, thus automated report generation for precise reports is to be included in the proponent’s proposed system.

Online Sales and Inventory Management System (SIMS)

This project is aimed at developing an online Sales and Inventory Management System (SIMS) for a departmental store. This system can be used to store the details of the inventory, update the inventory based on the sale details, produce receipts for sales, generate sales and inventory reports periodically etc. This is one integrated system that contains both the user component (used by salesperson, sales manager, inventory managers etc.) and the admin component (used by the administrators for performing admin level functions such as adding new items to the inventory, changing the price of an item etc). This system runs on multiple terminals, offers a GUI to its users and connects to a common database(s). The proponents acquires knowledge on real time inventory, generation of receipts and security features where in restricted information are only accessible by employees, managers, administrators, etc. The proposed system can be accessible by employees, administrators and customers, making online transaction possible.
Jeonsoft Inventory System

The aim of Jeonsoft Inventory System is to provide easier and faster way to monitor the movement of your business' stock of goods. It is interactively designed to possibly do the common tasks done in customary way. From item entry, releasing of items, inventory adjustment, transferring of goods from one warehouse to another and production, sure you can keep track of your inventory. JIS uses JibesXP Tools that has been especially configured with properties that would help you organize well the flow of your inventory. To ensure the security maintenance of JBS system, it has JADE (Jeonsoft Administrative Enforcer) programmed to protect the transactions in your system.
