2.2 Previous Studies on Photovoltaic using RETScreen

A study on the cost of solar energy generated using pv panels. The objective of this paper is to analyzed the potential production, cost, and GHG emissions reduction of installing a 5 MW PV system in Saudi Arabia. The study examined 41 different locations in Saudi Arabia to analyzed the global solar radiation levels and sunshine duration values and found out that Bishah was the best site, with a global solar radiation of 2.56MWh/m2 each year and sunshine duration with an overall mean of 8.89 hours. RETScreen Analysis showed that the total initial cost of the project was 39,864,634$ and the net present value was estimated to be US $74 million, having a simple payback period of approximately 7.6 years and a GHG emissions reduction of 335,455 CO2 tons/year (Rehamn, S. et.al, 2007).

In study of viability analysis of photovoltaic power plants in Egypt, this paper aims to investigate the economical, environmental and potential sites in Egypt, to build a 10MWPV-grid connected power plant. The global solar radiation and sunshine duration data was obtained from NASA’s Surface Meteorology and Solar Energy database inorder to determined the best location. they also examined a number of different solar PV module types and selected the model with the highest ratio of capacity/area, the mono-Silicon 205 W Module from SANYO. The result of RETScreen analysis indicated that placement of the proposed 10MWPV-grid connected power plant was at the Wahat Kharga because of the highest Global solar radiation and profitability, with a NPV of US $144.3 million (El-Shimy, 2009).

A Viability of solar photovoltaics as an electricity generation source for Jordan, the purpose of this study is to assess the proposed of 5 MW grid-connected PV power plant. To assess the distribution of radiation and sunshine duration over Jordan, monthly average daily global solar radiation and sunshine duration data for 24 locations, distributed all over the country were studied and analyzed. The result of the study showed Tafila is the most suitable sites for the solar photovoltaic power plant’s development with the highest NPV of 40.5$ million and having a minimum Simple Payback Period of 2.3 years and a reduction of 9,317 CO2 tons/year (Hrayshat, 2009).

2.2.1 Summary

In their studies, they had used RETScreen software to examined large-scale PV grid-connected power plants and assessed their energy production potential, financial feasibility, and GHG emissions reductions. All the studies, examined a number of potential sites for the proposed PV plant and conduct a RETScreen analysis, to determined the optimal location for the power plant. All the RETScreen studies found out that the PV projects have a positive net present value, making all of the projects financially feasible.

Be More Chill Book Report

...Fret no more, your official cool book solution is here! Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini is a book about a high school senior named Jeremy Heere, who goes to school at Middle Borough High School. Middleborough is that type of school where everyone is separated by cool or complete dork. Jeremy was never really able to “fit in” with his peers and was much rather seen as one of the dorks. Upon realization of this, Jeremy tries to find a solution until Rich, one of the cooler kids, approaches him with his answers to his quest. A SQUIP, a drug-like computer that travels through your blood and into your brain and tells you what to do, is presented to Jeremy. Jeremey, of course, buys one and his Squip does it’s job for the most part. While he thinks...

Superbowl 48 Weather Analysis

...bitterly-cold, wet and white start to February for the mid-Atlantic region of the United States (Almanac Publishing Co.). So I thought it would be interesting to take a look into what type of weather the teams and performers would be challenged with. Image from 2013 Farmer’s Almanac with regional predictions for central and eastern US. For this reason, the focus of my research paper will be an analysis of variables directly affecting weather for East Rutherford, NJ on February 2nd, over that past 30 years. The dependent variable, wind chill, is determined by independent variables: wind speed, temperature, humidity and whether or not Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow (otherwise known as could cover). The most important independent variable in determining wind chill during the winter months is temperature. The Wind Chill is the temperature your body feels when the air temperature is combined with the wind speed. My dependent variable is the wind chill for East...

...Arranged or Loved Marriage is an opportunity that everyone is given in life as a human being. Many cultures and societies have their own different prospections of marriage. Such as in most European countries they such as India the women are forced into arranged marriages. The way an arranged marriage is set up is that the mother and father go out finding a boy that they feel would be good for their daughter then tell their daughter they are going to marry this person. Therefore, it’s almost impossible for a women to search a man she might like on her own. Even the men are expected to follow the decision taken by parents who choose you to marry their daughter out of respect no matter how you feel about the girl. On the other hand love marriages are considered more acceptable and common to the modern generation. Love marriages are processed with the two people getting to know each other well, before making a decision to be with each other for life. Love marriages grant the opportunity to choose the partner but the responsibility of choosing the right person is the biggest obstacle in the whole situation. With loved marriages people lend to look for the person that will make them happy, feel loved, someone they can never get tired of and always want to be with, unlike in arranged marriages, where the responsibility of choosing the right person is up to the parents. During an arranged marriage when the two unknown individuals come together, they don't have any expectations...

Tic Tac Case

...packaging. With such strong brand recognition and being so well known across the globe it might seem foolish to change the packaging for Tic-Tac Chill mints. However, it is necessary that certain changes be made to the new package design in order to successfully compete and keep up with today’s breath mint market. Since 1969, when Tic-Tac first came out, the breath mint market has changed drastically. Mints are now typically larger and have much stronger flavors than breath mints from twenty and thirty years ago. Packaging now is also much more flashy and eye-catching than the classic Tic-Tac packaging that has been used since first being started. Since the Chill mints are going to be a more modern breath mint with a larger size than the original Tic-Tac and have a more intense flavor they are going to be competing against breath mints like Ice Breakers and Altoids who both have very distinct and noticeable packaging. To keep up with this competition it is important to update the packaging for the new Chill mints. Since the mints themselves will be larger the package itself should be considerably larger than the current Tic-Tac packaging. Increasing the size of the container by 2-2.5x the size of the one currently used by original Tic-Tacs not only makes sense because of the new larger mint size but will also help the Chill...

Composite Materials

...composite materials are strongly dependent on micro structural parameters of the system. The evolution of microstructure depends largely on the cooling rate during phase change. Though the microstructure evolution depends on many process parameters, the final structure is decided by cooling conditions during solidifications. The mould material has a decided effect on the structure formation. The use of end chills during casting not only favours directional solidification but also accelrates solidification. Faster cooling rates give rise to finer structures and improved mechanical properties. In this work an attempt is made to prepare Al-B4C composites cast using stainless steel and cast iron chills in a colplete adiabatic system. The microstrucutre and micro-hardness of the chill cast specimens are analyzed and reported. It is observed that the chill material has a significant influence on the microstructure and properties of the cast specimens. Finner structure and better mechanical properties were observed with the specimen cast using stainless-steel chill whereas cast iron chill gave rise to coarse structure with reduces mechanical properties. INTRODUCTION Engineering Materials There are more than 50,000 materials available to engineers for the design and manufacturing of products for various applications. These materials range from copper, cast iron, brass, which have been available for so many years, to the more recently developed advanced materials such as composites...
