Nobody can choose how to look when we are born, and I believe that most of us at some point notice our own defects in our body. It’s been quite long time since many women and even men do surgery on themselves to lose some weight, etc. but apparently that it's not enough now. Many people have been doing chin implants for the past few years and the numbers has increase considerably for a better self image, self esteem, and because there is a small risk rate on that operation.

I do accept that having a surgery on your chin, because a malformation or an accident it could be of a great relief. Living your entire life with a malformation on your face, could be really painful for many people. Having an accident where the result is a deformation on your face could be even more painful, since a sudden change to our appearance could be as shocking and traumatizing as for a person that loses his or her ability to walk. Speaking for myself I'm grateful that I did not have any malformation on my face and body, cannot speak for those who do have these problems, although it wasn't their choice.
The chin implant surgery could really be a great salvation for these people, but there are those that take advantage of these surgical advances for their own cosmetic vanity. According to the article publish by Diane Mapes “surgical procedures that enhance and define the chin line, increased 71 Percent between 2010 and 2011, outdoing breast augmentation, liposuction and even Botox” I find these numbers ridiculous, people believe that having a bigger chin means being better at what you do professionally for living. The media shows bosses with bigger chin, and the people image that actor as for how bosses should look like, therefore the chin plants surgery has gone up at a fast rate. People do not accept themselves the way they really are. Workers feel the necessity to obtain an implant on their chin to feel as if they were the boss, just for the idea of a boss that these people have in mind.
If the self esteem is the problem, there are psychological therapies where these people can go to better themselves. The psychologist' therapies are far less expensive than a chin implant surgery, and not only will make you feel better regarding the way you look, but it could also enhance your security towards many other challenges in your life. The chin implants does have a risk windows on the surgery. According to the video of this article, the surgery takes place in the doctor's office. The patient could have a reaction to the chemicals or could get an infection.
Today everything is controlled by the media, and we act accordingly to these matter. In the article Antell says “people have cameras everywhere.... You can be at a wedding at the buffet table and a moment later see pictures of your double chin on facebook. We're a much more image-driven society than we were even five years ago.” because something go publicly on to the web the doctors are getting their pockets filled with our ignorance and low self esteem.

Instead of making a change in our intellectual persona we rather look good on a picture; the media is constantly washing our brains. The surgical advances are mostly for vanity creating inflation on the prices for those who really need it. They all should go for help to the psychologist, and getting that self esteem loving yourself as how you are, rather than paying tons of money to the rich guys that laugh at us for our ignorance.
