...Cinnamon Challenge… What exactly is the cinnamon challenge? The Cinnamon Challenge is a challenge in which a person tries to eat 1 tablespoon of Cinnamon without the use of water in under 60 seconds. People think it’s so easy to do, yet it’s practically impossible. My experience, also, was a failure. There are 4 varieties of cinnamon. The most common being Ceylon and Cassia cinnamon; the varieties differ in texture, color and flavor. In China, cinnamon has been used to treat colds, nausea, diarrhea, help diabetics, and improve digestion. Cinnamon is a type of spice. Spice is an aromatic or pungent vegetable substance used to flavor food, e.g., cloves, pepper, or mace; flavor with spice. Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known. It was mentioned in the Bible and was used in ancient Egypt not only as a beverage, but flavoring and medicine as well. Cinnamon is found in many parts of the world from India, China, Madagascar, and Brazil to the Caribbean. It was so highly treasured that it was considered more valuable than gold. The use of cinnamon dates back as long ago as 4,000 years. It has a broad range of historical uses in different cultures. Cinnamon has been used as a treatment of diarrhea, gas relief, bloating, regulating glucose, as an antibacterial and many more. Cinnamon is harvested by growing the tree two years and then cutting it. The next year a dozen or more shoots will form from the roots. These shoots are then stripped of their bark and left to dry. Depending on the kind of the proposed projects, I would like to figure out the advantages and perspectives of each of them. However, I think that there are some fundamental questions to ask. It’s necessarily to be highly interested in a financial side of a project. That’s why the first questions I would ask are: “What is the estimated price to launch and maintain my investment? What is the predicted revenue? How profitable is it? How liquid is this suggestion? What is my biggest risk and how much can I loss in total?” The next step is to identify who is the potential customer, whether there are a lot of competitors or not, has this kind of business already existed before, etc. (questions to ask in every segment) Now, let’s concentrate on every proposition specifically. * Manufacture of small bottles of flavours. The flavours you can add to water or other drinks to get the taste you like. Having analyzed the detailed information about this product, I came to the point to start up my interview with clarifying “Why is it innovative?” “How much would one bottle cost?” “What would be the market price per one unit?” “Did a marketing research take a place? If yes, what are the results and what did the questionnaires show?” “Who came up with this idea and why does he/she believe in it?” “Which kind...

...Cinnamon is not merely used in cooking Cinnamon has been one of the most popular spices in the world since ancient times. It comes from inner layer of bark derived from varieties of evergreen trees belong to genus Cinnamomum. Cinnamon can be in various forms which we common use it in form of sticks and powder. As cinnamon comes from the inner layer, the farmer first shave the outer bark of trees followed by the inner bark. It is then dried and curls up into “quills” naturally. Those quills being cut into sticks or crushed into powder. The sticks one is usable for a very long time. There are two main types of cinnamon named Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum Verum) and Cassia cinnamon (Cinnamomum Aromaticum). Both are natively from Sri Lanka and China respectively. We might wonder, how to differentiate those cinnamons? Basically, Ceylon cinnamon is light brown in color, has mild and sweet taste whereas Cassia cinnamon is dark brown in color which has spicy and bitter taste. The more important distinction may be the presence of a chemical called coumarin, a natural chemical that acts as a blood thinner. Coumarin is derivatives of Benzo-α-pyrone, a phytochemical with a vanilla-like flavor. Coumarin is an oxygen heterocycle. It is commonly used as anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, treatment for skin disease and treatment for asthma. However, coumarin also can become a toxic that could damage our liver. Cassia cinnamon contains higher concentrations of coumarin compared to Ceylon cinnamon...

...in cinnamon that gives it its unique scent and flavor. This yellowish, sweet, and oily liquid [Cheng] is found naturally occurring in the bark of small evergreen trees called Cinnamomum zeylanicum [Burnham], which are located in southern parts of India and Sri Lanka. Dating back to ancient times when it was first discovered, Cinnamon had great value. People living in biblical times used it as a perfume or anointing oil, while Egyptians used it in the burial of their mummies. Each civilization had a different use for it, but in all civilizations it was an item of worth. Cinnamaldehyde has many other names to describe it, but the most common name (other than its common name Cinnamaldehyde) is its IUPAC name: (2E)-3-phenylprop-2-enal, or 3-phenyl-2-propenal. Its formula is C6H5CH=CHCHO, it is in the family of aldehydes, and the Merck Index Number is 2297. ...Tampico spice company was established in 1947 by a man named Jesus Martinez. Jesus Martinez was born in California before the stock market crash of 1929. During his upbringing Mr. Martinez was raised in poverty, however he continued to keep his faith in life that things one day will turn around for the best for him and his family. Mr. Martinez bought his first set of spices with what little money he could scrape up. He would go door to door selling his home packed spices in his neighborhood and surrounding markets. His little profit soon became double that, and soon after the beginning of his empire began. As time passed he increased his spices by a number of known and un-known mixtures that soon after became very popular. He later introduced herbs that helped with many home remedies to help alleviate certain body discomforts. For example one of his herbs that his Tampico brand produces is “Cilantro seeds”. The first time I seen this herb was when my wife went out and purchased a pack of it. I asked her what it’s for and she said that its to help relax the irritability of a colic prone infant. I watched her boil one tablespoon of the seeds and when it cools to the infants liking give it to him in a form of a tea. She gave it to my son. I was really thinking oh my god this is not going to work. Too much of my surprise my son within a few minutes was relaxed and was burping up a storm, that night my son had a good night’s sleep. I was leary about her giving my...

...Harold Alvis Layna Leach Freshman English 1 6 April 2015 Sweet Smell of Homemade Cinnamon Rolls Homemade cinnamon rolls are better than anything you can buy in a can. To get started with this awesome recipe, I first start by scouring the aisles at the grocery store for each of the ingredients. I can almost smell them baking as I gather up the brown sugar and cinnamon. I start mixing the yeast up with just the right temperature water so it will rise correctly. And then I mix in a few other ingredients and then finally the flour. What a mess that always is!! The White powder is flying everywhere and stuck all to my clothes. The dough is always sticky and not easy to mix up. When I finally get it all mixed in, it looks like there will never be enough to make the cinnamon rolls. I put a damp towel over the bowl and try to wait patiently to see if it will do its magic and triple in size. Of course, I go back every little bit just to check and see what’s going on. The first few times there is very little change, so I decide to wait the full two hours to see if it will grow to full size. I finally pull the towel back, and the dough is so big it’s sticks to the towel. YES!!! It’s time to start rolling it out and making them into something yummy. I clean my surface good and then flour it well so that the dough doesn’t stick. Plop the dough out of the bowl onto the table and start rolling it out. Once it is completely rolled out, I melt a stick of butter in...

...agree to and abide by, customer service being the top priority. Secondly, it is important for the management team to have synergy, without it, internal conflict and varying opinions could prove to be detrimental to their success. Finally, RRC should look for ways to continually improve by soliciting feedback from their gusts. The weighted average cost of capital is in my opinion fair, and provides an easier accounting method for RRC. If these costs were varied, where hotel would pay a higher percentage, and entertainment a lesser percentage, the sum of its parts would still have the same outcome, and as RRC rolls up to one total profit center as a whole of its parts, this method makes sense and should prove successful for RRC. 2. While RRC operates as a single firm with three divisions, for it's accounting and administrative structure, it is in my opinion that they should roll up into one overall structure on an organizational chart. For example, payroll can operate as one entity to save capital; however, each division should have its own payroll administrator to assist employee's with their unique needs across each individual division, these three individuals should report up to one payroll director who has a better overall...
