Coca Cola
1. Information System tasks are to acquire, store and access data. IS also processes data into information and then present the information to decision makers. The functional model of an Information System includes a user, input/output, processor, and storage. Coca Cola goes all of these stages of the model. The user is the customer, the drink they chose is the input, processor is processing the input from the customer and the storage is what tells the processor to give as an output. The output is the drink that the customer chose.
Software, hardware, and network all work together to complete a task. The network is the wireless connection from the coke dispenser to the headquarters. The hardware is the coke dispenser itself, and the software is what is inside the dispenser to tell it what and how to dispense to give to the customer—essentially like a recipe.
2. The data collected from the coke dispenser is what syrup is being used and how much of each syrup is being used. The information gathered from the data tells the headquarter what customers are drinking more of and at what time of the day, and also tells the business owners what to order and what to order more of.
3. When referring to the Five Forces Model I am using the company Coca Cola as to whom to buy from and the drink options as to the choices. Buyer and Supplier Power are low since they have many drink choices to choose. Threat of New Entrants is low since there are significant entry barriers to entering the market. I do not believe that Threat of Substitute Products or Services and Rivalry Among Existing Competitors is really present here because there isn’t much competition to the
