For this reason, one may be timid to pursue an undergraduate education online. At first glance, online and traditional classes are complete opposites. When taking a further look, they are more alike than one may perceive. Online and traditional courses have similarities and differences in the assignments that are given, reading material needed, syllabus, professor teaching strategies, and attendance. Unlike a traditional class, taking a class online requires more work ethic. An online student does not receive a lecture from a professor like traditional a student does. An online student must learn the material on his/her own. In online classes, most assignments are given in the form of papers and discussion posts. In traditional classes, assignments can be in-class participation, papers, group projects, presentations, and worksheets. Group assignments are common in the traditional classroom, but online it is not seen often. In traditional classrooms, a student is sometimes allowed to present assignments to his/her professor early to have it edited for a better grade. On the other hand, once an online student submits an assignment he/she is not allowed to gain information about the assignment from professors to get a better grade. Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way - George Evans- People can enroll in either traditional or online classes; they will have to decide for themselves which way works best for them. Online classes they can go at their own pace and adjust their schedule for themselves. If they work a full time job they can come home and do their schoolwork or even on their breaks and lunch time. If they have a family they can do their schoolwork around their schedule for their children if they really want their degrees. Some people will not put the effort forth because it takes away from their “me” time. In a traditional setting they have to be in their class at a certain time and a certain day of the week. It does not matter if work is scheduled for that time or not. They have to be present in the class to get credit for the class. After class they still will have homework to have done before the next class meets. There still is no “me” time when you do the traditional classes.
