Azikiwe (1998) describes study habits as the way and manner a student plans his or her private reading outside lecture hours in order to master a particular subject or topic. Study habits help students master their areas of specialization. The extent of student’s learning in academics may be determined by the grades a student earns for a period of learning has been done. ...INTRODUCTION Background of the Study Among other components of any organization, human beings are the most difficult to manage. Many authors have posited financial and material components of any organization than to manage the human component. They insinuate that it is easier to manage even animals than to manage human beings. (Nakpodia, 2006; peretomode, 1991; Peretomode, 2001; Ubogu, 2004 Emore, 2005; Ukoshi, 2004) Santillano (2010), in her study highlights the factors affecting tardiness. The result show that the tardiness cause personality traits of a person, including low self-esteem and anxiety as triggering factors of tardiness. Also tardiness is an inborn quality and other experts believed that some people are “chronically tardy” for the reason they consciously and unconsciously get good things from it. In addition parental attitude, family structure, socioeconomic status, teacher attitudes and schoolmates influence are factors affecting tardiness. Tardiness in the Philippines is getting worst since it is habitually done by most of the students even though in some professional field. The accounting courses in the program, combined with business management courses, equip students with the needed skills, proficiency, and intellectual abilities to lead successful careers. But, unlike Accountancy, BSAT is a non-board course. However, the graduates of the said program can take the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Examination for license. This study aims to determine the reasons and causes why BSA students end up getting BSAT degree instead of Accountancy degree. We, researchers, will investigate on the factors affecting the students focus in studying. We will be conducting survey in the form of questionnaires and interviews with 3rd year and 4th year BSAT students of Araullo University – Phinma Education Network. ...Day Ann V. AB Psychology Lacaba, Nina BS Psychology CHAPTER 1 RESEARCH PROBLEM This chapter presents the Introduction of the study, Background of the study, Statement of the problem, Significance of the study and the Scope and Delimitations of the study. A. Introduction Study habit is the pattern of behavior adopted by students in the pursuit of their studies that serves as the vehicle of learning. It is the degree to which the student engages in regular acts of studying that are characterized by appropriate studying routines (e.g. reviews of material, frequency of studying sessions, etc.) occurring in an environment that is conducive to studying. No one can fully understand how a student feels every time she got low scores for her tests and examinations. No one can explain why they are neglecting their studies and ignoring the importance of education. No one can interpret their actions beside the people, who are once a student, preferably the students with their same stage. Student’s experiences within the classroom help to develop their behavioral, social, and academic skills. The quality of the interactions that students have with their teachers predicts later academic success (Pianta, Steinberg, & Rollins, 1995). The extent of student’s learning in academics may be determined by the grades a student earns for a period of learning has been done. It is believed that a grade is a primary indicator of such learning. If a learner earns high grades...

It does not only limit itself to students often going to school to master and memorize the concepts/lessons he/she has acquired from their teachers, but it does apply on every field of work. However, the problem that several universities have in common with their students is that almost 1/2 of the total population from different departments suffer from failure and repetition of grades indicating lack of proper training and communication. This phenomenon until now continues to be the number one dilemma for students especially when confronting their worse, feared, or even so-called “hated” subjects. Students are also more likely to fear and feel more anxiety when it comes to quizzes and examinations regardless of a subject’s difficulty.
