One of the most important factors to remember it that not all countries have the same believes and cultures. This would be the case for expanding business to the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Mexico, and China. In order to whip crews in shape to effectively function in these countries, they must endure long hours, intense training, communication woes, and preparing for a life changing experience. * What would your students need to know in regards to high- and low-context language, language diversity, interaction, nonverbal communication, and so forth?
Employees must realize that in terms of high/low context communication, there is little to no nonverbal communication. This can classified as disrespect in some countries. With high context communication, this is most often used in long term, established relationships with clients. Relationships are built slowly and are dependent upon trust and stability. Low context communication is more public and external. This is used for shorter communication and usually rule oriented. In low text, relationships are come and go. Beginning just as a quick as it ends. * What are some conversation taboos that they should be aware of?
Some of the conversation taboos that employees should be aware of includes conversations tied to religion; also holiday traditions. Whereas, the United States celebrate Easter as the Resurrection of our Christ, in the United Arab Emirates they celebrate Ramadan. * What are some of the nonverbal communication aspects that they should know?
