In the “Portrait of an Activist” feature of chapter 8 “Marian Wright Edelman, Children's Defense Fund” and “Meet Jessica Sena” of chapter 9 there are many differences. Marian Edelman is an activist for children and civil rights. Jessica Sena is an activist for government, such as government spending, jobs, regulations,subsidies and entitlements, and land ownership. Marian fights for things like adoption, the improvement of child care, and the welfare system. She made sure no child went hungry, or felt unloved and unwanted under her watch. As she got older she continued with the same beliefs and helped get the “Washington Research Project” started.
