Fiction is all about what an author creates, his imagination may blow the reader’s mind away.There are many fictional books that give joy to the children and excitement to the elderly. An example of fiction filling in the gaps of history can be found in the selections of Fences, Of Mice And Men, The Things They Carried, and Night. Which these books filled in the gaps by using symbolism, exaggeration, and the act of just making things up, to just get their theme and point across to the reader.

For example, in the book Night by Elie Wiesel, there were many factors of symbolism throughout the book, but the main one would be the title itself. In the fictional story of The Things they Carried by Tim O’brien. The main character is named after the author, Tim is a war veteran which writes this book according to the events that happened during and after the war. This story might be fictional but it is very realistic, the fact that the author makes up these events that could happen in the real world, but they are fake makes it interesting how the author uses the act of making up things to fill up history. Also by describing their pain into something so big that we may see it as a little thing but felt so much for them, that they describe through the fictional characters. For example, when Tim was forced to be drafted he had a choice, he would either flee to Canada and be called a chicken by his people or fight and die with honor, but he described it as something more than that, he thought it was the end of world he described how he felt in terms we would understand and fit his shoes to understand what he was going
