...and find scientific evidence to write and explain what will occur in the future. I think everyone is eager to know how this planet will evolve and what will happen to the human kind and other living things. This is one of the questions that we will never know or be accurate about. The more we know about our history the better knowledge we have about the future and what will happen. History always repeats itself this is why we learn as much as we can about the past and study it so well, so we can predict the future. By going into the future the climate of the earth is always going to be changing and all living things are going adapting to the changes and other species are evolved and others will die out because of it. “The condition of the environment is the key of the living things in this earth and plants are depend on it”(science nsa). The earth has to have a certain amount of carbon dioxide, a change in this can have a big impact on the living things and animals. “The temperature is also an important role”(wired magazine), if the temperature keeps rising every year than the plants will dry out and even cause global warming which we already are facing. This will only be a disaster and we have to know how to solve this problem and be aware. Water is another important part of all living things because without it we can do anything or live without it. If the temperature keeps going up there will be drier lands and plants will die out and other places where there is snow will melt...

...on South American continent. The acute poverty results in certain issues that need to be addressed, thereby allowing Bolivia to grow into a prosperous nation. Analysis & Discussion What are the Main International Management Problem(s)? After viewing the video, it is found that the major problem lies in the poverty and lack of education of its people and the corruption of its politicians (Buckley, 2009). There are many reasons why other countries, both within and outside of the region, would not want to see Bolivia prosper and increase its financial potential. Many of Bolivia’s neighbors are economically stable and their strength grows yearly. On the other hand, Bolivia itself is going in the opposite direction i.e. the standard of living in this country is extremely low (Eun and Resnick, 2007). One of the biggest problems or issues associated with this managerial problem is the lack of education within the region (Folsom, Gordon and Spanogle, 2001). Many large businesses based in other countries would like to keep Bolivia totally deprived from the education. This lack of education allows them to take advantage of the local population. One reason that is playing a vital role is the fact that most of the foreign businesses leaders believe that if Bolivia begins to...

...always been known to be ugly, but the further back in history we go, it seems to become more primitive. Observing the photo of the soldiers in their living quarters brings a realization to how relatively spoiled soldiers at war today really are. Although none of the soldiers in this specific photo look particularly displeased, they don’t have any comparison to give as this is the only standard of war they know. You can tell each soldier was a very hard working individual. In the photo, you can see soldiers participating in various laborious activities from sweeping to chopping wood. Everything was more involved than it is today with a much lower quality of living during the Civil War. To me, this single photograph goes a long way in telling the story of the life of a soldier during the Civil War. Others could take a look at the photograph and gain a better understanding for the hardships of the Civil War and further appreciate those in the military today. We can also gain a better appreciation for the improved living standards for any United States campaign today. Of course, technology has come a long way for us to look at this photo and find it hard to believe that this is how war was conducted, but to see it in a photograph really makes it real. I strongly believe photographs are worth a thousand words, and can, at times, teach more than a text book is able to. Going further into the difference in the standards of living during the Civil War and present day can clearly be seen...

...Organizational Design Paper Deanna Bergman HCS /514 January 12, 2014 Louis Kastner Organizational Design: Assisted Living Facility Organizational design is an important aspect for any organization to be successful at fulfilling their goals and obtaining achievements. This paper will discuss a decision that an organization had to make, and how the Pareto Principle approach theory pertained to this decision. Pinecrest of Lake Geneva is a 12 bed facility that provides assisted living to residents in a home based setting. As a state licensed Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), the organizations goal is to provide care and services to clients who are too independent for a nursing home, but can no longer care for themselves or are at risk for safety reasons. The facility is run based on a number of internal and external factors that need to be taken into consideration before making a decision that will change the way that the organization provides services or care, as well as the impact that the decision will have on the residents. Some of the internal factors include the number of residents, cost of operations, and the number of staff employed and/ or on shift. External factors include residents family or guardian, resources, transportation, and social requirements. The decision that is up for discussion pertains to whether the organization should start providing transportation for the residents. Transportation...

...Juan Menchaca Professor Mochizuki History 17 (Ticket #22545) 2 October 2013 Bread Givers In the novel Bread Givers, written by Anzia Yezierska, Sara Smolinsky is an independent young girl fighting to achieve the American dream and create a life of her own. Throughout the novel, one uncovers the struggle Sara overcomes, the “real” person she eventually is, and how she ultimately succeeds in becoming an American. Sara is seeking for a better life without her father and attempts to find her true identity in several ways. For example, Sara finds the room she wants to rent on her own and is the basis of her new independent life. ”This door was life. It was air. The bottom starting-point of becoming a person. I simply must have this room with the shut door.”(158-159). After Sara enters the door; she feels that she can now truly begin to identify herself and exemplifies her financial freedom. She can now study for an education that will help her reach the goal of employment as a teacher. This room also gives Sara a small glimpse of her goal. As Ms. Smolinsky said in America only the rich can afford privacy. Sara truly appreciates her new taste of the American dream and can now look forward to reaching the goal of a teacher. If Sara had stayed living with Reb and Ms. Smolinsky, she would have gotten nowhere towards her goal and remained the same she had grown up to—a mere image of her father. Sara dreams about how good of a time she would have, but finds herself desperately searching...

...building materials. Tropical design could contribute to the environment through its sustainable properties which minimizes too much use of electricity by using the natural energy as alternative. This research is conducted because it is a proof that both man and his natural environment can live in perfect harmony. The tropical conditions in the Philippines affect the high temperature, and low air flow which affect on the comfortable indoor environment. With this design approach, it can contribute to a sustainable lifestyle and culture. Tropical architecture can be a solution in preventing global warming because of its eco-friendly materials used in construction and the design itself. This design is important especially for those who are living in the tropics like the Philippines and the nature itself because this study will be a great help in reducing waste, pollution and environment poverty. Tropical architecture considers the use of material that will not waste energy and is considered a good design that can have an influence on energy usage. This study will discuss about the contribution of tropical design to the health of our environment and our responsibility...

...packaging changes and other green initiatives, despite the fact that the company’s lobbying efforts and PAC have successfully defeated environmental laws and regulations, including extension of the Superfund tax, which was created by Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Based in New Jersey, PharmaCARE maintains a large manufacturing facility in the African nation of Colberia, where the company has found several “healers” eager to freely share information about indigenous cures and an abundance of Colberians willing to work for $1.00 a day, harvesting plants by walking five (5) miles into and out of the jungle carrying baskets that, when full, weigh up to fifty (50) pounds. Due to the low standard of living in Colberia, much of the population lives in primitive huts with no electricity or running water. PharmaCARE’s executives, however, live in a luxury compound, complete with a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a golf course. PharmaCARE’s extensive activities in Colberia have destroyed habitat and endangered native species. PharmaCARE has many stakeholders in the company, which impacts the way business is conducted within the company. A stakeholder is defined as...

...That history contains errors, will not come as news to a person who has reflected on the topic. The very first history, a Greek one, History of Herodotus, written around 450 BC, likely had quite a number of fictional details so as to effect its purpose.1 Those parts of our history which are suspected to be fiction are, at least, through research and comparison, salvageable. What, however, is possibly more disturbing than the realization that, in general and throughout, our history is wrong (a sub-topic which I shall treat to a greater extent further on, herein) is the realization that there are great gaps in it. We have failed to record and gather together the little human events which make up the fabric of history: it is little events, strung together and accumulated over time, which account for our place in history. Though it may have been, in certain of its parts, reconstructed incorrectly and small shards are missing here and there, history, by a well-read and descriptive author, like a Grecian urn, is a spectacle to behold; like man himself -- fascinating, seductive, intriguing, and spectacular. Maybe most are like me, I enjoy observing, at a safe distance, the follies and misfortunes2 of my fellow men. An author of history must adopt a method to gratify the natural curiosity that most of us have about the bloody events of times past. History, like all literature, must be written in a lively and descriptive manner. This is necessary, so to grip and hold the reader, in an...

...It is worth to learn the world history because it has shaped today’s society. As an international student, it is interesting to learn and have a better understanding on the history of the United States. I was glad to have Mr. Richard Ng to be my interviewee for my final history essay. In the following essay, I would like to tell you about the biggest historical event that has been influenced on Mr. Ng’s life and get related to what I have learnt in this history class. First, I would like to briefly give you some background information of Mr. Ng. Mr. Ng is a Chinese. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1967, and he was living in Berkeley. At that time, he was studying in high school as an eleventh grade student. Now, I am...

...Everyone is existing for a purpose. For some, the discovery of his purpose is a lifelong process. The history of my family, like most Vietnamese families, is attached to the history of our Fatherland. The history of Vietnam is a history of struggle against foreign invasions, to preserve our independence. The legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co is a primitive explanation of the origin of the Vietnamese peoples. Although legend imbued with mystical myth, nevertheless expresses its philosophy about our origins. According to our legend, the Vietnamese descended from father Lac Long Quan, the god and king of the dragon, and mother Au Co, a fairy angel. Lac and Au Co married and gave birth to a sack that contained 100 eggs, from which hatched 100...

...everyone has their own way of living. Even though there are many different beliefs they all can come together and agree on what they feel is right. Another force is geography for the simple fact of trade meaning what we have to give and what we can get from others. * What social issues arose because of this cultural makeup? Some issues that arose were war, and beliefs. War started because different country’s felt the need to take rather than to work together. Beliefs were an issue because everyone worshiped a different God and had different ways that they believed we should live. * What were the main cultural influences on early civilizations? The main influences were spiritual/religious beliefs, also ritual behaviors. Most people felt like if you weren’t living under the same religion as them then your different from them. They separated themselves from those who don’t share the same belief. Ritual behavior plays a big role because most cultures practice different religions and always the way they live life. They believed in a lot of what to do and what not to do. * From your perspective what are the pros and cons of revisionist history? Explain your response. The pros of revisionist is that you will get another view of past history meaning even though we have proof that those events did take place you can still research to find more details about what really happened. The con is that if people revisit the events that had happened in history it can cause a lot of arguments...

...When the term history was mentioned, most people will think about what they have learned, such as wars, presidents, scientists. It is totally true that people could thing about that, but there are many secrets about the history United State that haven’t told yet. Back to the eighteenth century, there was a hard time for people fight for freedom. All of the difficulties were written in “A Renegade History of the United States” by Thaddeus Russell. Sexual industry, slaves’ life, and many other factors were explained as a crucial part of history, since it was the origin of freedom in America. Sexual industry, which was controlled by madams and prostitutes, developed very well at that time. Overall, madams owned a lot of properties and have prosperous...

...I have never been one that had much interest in history. While it serves its purpose in providing insight it always repeats itself as often stated. George Santayana described history as “nothing but assisted and recorded memory,” as well as something “condemned to [be] repeat[ed]” if past mistakes were not taken into account for future dealings. For the most part, humans have learned a great deal from the past but pick and choose when to properly utilize that knowledge, when to remain stagnant, and when to forget lessons learned entirely. Reading William Bradford’s history of Plimoth Plantation however, helped me remember the incredible endurance God imparted in the human spirit and reaffirmed how He always leads His people to victory after...

...narratives being told in both Ahiska’s piece and Altinay’s piece correlate in theory and discourse. The resemblances between the two narratives are striking and complimentary of one another even though the focus of both articles are different, yet they share characteristics of remembrance, counter-memory symbolism, state and power structures. In this essay I will demonstrate the relationship in narrative and substance, which both authors are discussing. Aysi Gul Altinay is focused on the Armenian Genocide of 1915 by the hands of their Turkish rulers and the following historical counter-memory provided by Turkish nationalist historiography, specifically on the implications on the ‘un-silencing’ of the ‘Armenian question.’ Turkish nationalist history has largely accepted the silence on the events of 1915 as the historical norm, not to be questioned. In a way it is worse that this discussion, which has only surfaced recently in mainstream Turkish society, is not one of responsibility for the massacre of an estimated 2 million Armenians but rather one of the very existence of these atrocities. What few pieces of archived information that exist from 1915-1920 do not give specifics on the fate of so many Armenian women and children but do point to the survival of large numbers of women and children through Islamization. Ataturk’s own biographer gave reason and definition to the reason behind the organized historical silence of all things Armenian genocide by calling the period ‘a time best...

...Reflection Paper Your name Institutional Affiliations History has been in existence since the formation of the earth and existence of mankind. The life and form of human beings have evolved over the years. While all human beings have same origin historically, evolution and development of human life and their living conditions led to inequality among different groups of people and different parts of the world. As a result, there are many pieces of literature including books, journals, among others, which explain different historical events (Diamond, 1999). However, some historical books or articles do not address historical issues fully especially historical factors that led to high development in some areas while leaving others highly underdeveloped. However, Guns, germs and steel: The fates of human societies, a book written by Jared diamond is totally different and unique historical book in contrast to other historical books. This is because in his book Gun, germs and steel: The fates of human societies, Jared examined all historical events that happened in the last 13,000 years. However, unlike other historical books, Jared applied different methods and materials including scientific ones so as to ensure that he covers all necessary information and that every reader understands him properly. Another unique feature of this book is that unlike others, which focus on specific place, people or event, this book is focused on...
