Comparing Pillsbury, Betty Crocker And Simple Mills

The difference between three similar products can seem more noticeable when the items themselves are being presented in front of the human eyes. For instance, take a blindfold and put it over the eyes of any individual and ask them if the differences of the items stand out as well as they do without the blindfold on. For this project I decided to try to find not only the differences of taste, but also smell, touch and quality. When purchasing the three different brands of gluten- free chocolate cupcakes consisting of similar ingredients, yet still divergent, created a challenge being the brands I looked for did not contain gluten free ingredients. Shown above are the main nutrition facts for each of the products. When taking a look at the nutrition chart above it is clear to assume that Betty Crocker would be unsound when participating in a low sugar diet. While Simple Mills would be the more recommended choice. While looking at the panel, it is intriguing to acknowledge the differences within the three products when all three brands fight for one final result, which is making the best cupcakes.
Accordingly, I will introduce the ingredients (only the first five) as well as recommended baking time and what I actually baked the cupcakes at (time) and to what degree. When preparing for the experiment, I started with one large red bowl, about the size of an average baking utensil, a carton of eggs, extra virgin olive oil, a 12 row pan and measuring cups I purchased from Dollar General. I washed the bowl after each use to insure the consistency of the experiment was as even as possible. I wanted to have another opinion with mine to further this experiment to the fullest. We both were blindfolded, with the same amount of water in our cups to insure no differences were made when entering the challenge. We began to take a few bites out of each cupcake, handed to us by a third party member, one by one and elaborated on each to our best ability. We both came to the conclusion that Simple Mills was by far the worst cupcake we had ever consumed. With a rock like texture and an extremely dry taste, it was nearly impossible to even continue with an explanation on the cake. Pillsbury consisted of a tiny bit more moisture, but still was an extremely plain, dry cake with less sugar than what was being presented on the box. So it seemed. With only a 3g sugar difference to Betty Crocker the presented 17g of sugar seemed to dissipate with each bite. It was concluded that Betty Crocker had the most pleasant and welcoming taste with each bite. In fact, it was so appealing to me I continued to inhale it even after the testing was over
