In the Poem “ Watsons Go To Birmingham.” and in the Memoir “ I escaped a Violent Gang.” They are both courage. In “ I escaped a Violent Gang” she has to stand up for herself against a gang. In “Watsons Go To Birmingham” the black people have to stick up for themselves because the whites are being mean to them. Even though they have the same theme they, are completely different. The action is different because in “ Watsons Go to Birmingham’ the black people are sticking up for each other across the whole world not just their self. Then in “ I escaped Violent Gang” she was only defending herself because a gang started staring attacking her.
