What an Employer Expects

...of any state is Texas with 45,100” (Toni & Guy, 2014.) Growing up I always wanted to be a hairstylist for a huge company and one day run my own salon. The most important qualities an employer expects from a college graduate include proficiency, communication, and work ethic. Proficiency: The state of being proficient; skill; expertness. The first skill employers look for in a college graduate is technical knowledge in the field I want to peruse. Meaning I have to know the book work and the research behind it. The technical knowledge I have is that I went to cosmetology school for two years and did book work every other day. My future salon I wanted in high school was Toni and Guy. I would also have tests once a week to make sure I knew the material. The next skill employers look for in college graduates is technical application which is the hands on work I know how to do in my field. The technical application I have in my field is that I had to cut hair on a mannequins the days I was not doing book work. On Thursdays I would have women and men from retirement homes come in, do their hair, manicure, pedicure, or a facial. I would get graded for every mannequin and client I worked on that week. After 2 years of book work and clients I took my state board exam, then I found a salon that was hiring and applied. I now work for a nationwide known company Supercuts! Another skill employers look for is creativity; the process by which one utilizes creative ability. An employer...

Market Research

...CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Prefatory: The International Labour Organization (ILO) introduced the concept of the informal sector more than 25 years ago.  The informal sector has been understood to mean very small-scale units producing and distributing goods and services, and consisting largely of independent, self-employed producers in urban and rural areas of developing countries, some of which also employ family labour and/or few hired workers or apprentices; which operates with very little capital or none at all; which utilize a low level of technology and skills; which therefore operates at a low level of productivity; and which generally provides very low and irregular income and highly unstable employment to those who work in it.  It also includes activities that are carried out without formal approval from authorities and escape the administrative machinery responsible for enforcing legislation and similar instruments. [1] The informal sector, with its enterprising individuals and groups, can be seen as counterbalancing cure to many ill effects of globalization. [2] Firstly, the informal sector absorbs all the victims of globalization—displaced workers, forced retirees, educated unemployed and many more. While the informal sector cannot offer jobs, it can offer income opportunities. In this sense, the informal sector is itself a safety net. Secondly, the informal sector cushions the impact of globalization on the surviving formal...

Saylor URL: http://www.saylor.org/books Saylor.org 1 Preface Competing books are focused on the academic part of HRM, which is necessary in a university or college setting. However, the goal with this book is not only to provide the necessary academic background information but also to present the material with a practitioner’s focus on both large and small businesses. While the writing style is clear and focused, we don’t feel jargon and ten-dollar words are necessary to making a good textbook. Clear and concise language makes the book interesting and understandable (not to mention more fun to read) to the future HRM professional and manager alike. It is highly likely that anyone in business will have to take on an HRM role at some point in their careers. For example, should you decide to start your own business, many of the topics discussed will apply to your business. This is the goal of this book; it is useful enough for the HRM professional, but the information presented is also applicable to managers, supervisors, and entrepreneurs. Besides these differences, other key differences include the following:   This book utilizes a technology focus and shows how HRM activities can be leveraged using technology. We have also included a chapter on communication and information...

Annual Report Analysis

...CONTE N T S CHAI R M A N ’ S LETTE R DEAR SH AREH OL DERS FY2012 has been a good year for your Company. The key financial results were: ¥ Consolidated revenues increased by 30% to Rs. 96.7 billion in FY2012. ¥ Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA)1 rose by 55% to Rs. 25.4 billion. ¥ Profit after Tax (PAT)2 grew by 45% to Rs. 15.3 billion. ¥ Diluted Earnings per Share (EPS) increased from Rs. 64.9 in FY2011 to Rs. 83.8 in FY2012. I am particularly delighted by four developments. First, your Company succeeded in yet another blockbuster generic launch in the USA under 180days marketing exclusivity. Dr. Reddy’s launched olanzapine 20 mg tablets, the generic version of the brand Zyprexa®. Olanzapine is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This product has added around USD 100 million to your Company’s revenues for FY2012. Second, the biosimilars business continues along its impressive growth path. In my letter to you last year, I had discussed the critical importance of developing biosimilars in the years to come. I am happy to note that your Company’s global biosimilars business grew by 45% over last year and recorded sales of USD 26 million. Today, the biosimilars portfolio of Dr. Reddy’s constitutes (i) filgrastim, (ii) peg-filgrastim, (iii) rituximab and (iv) darbepoetin alfa, which have commercial presence in 13 countries among emerging markets. These are helping to treat patients suffering from cancer — and at prices that...
