Crispr-Cas 9 is an editing tool that lets scientists have the ability to perform specific edits to genes. It is a step forward from the cumbersome technique called the zinc finger nucleases and Talens. The Crispr-Cas 9 was invented at the University of California, Berkeley and reported very little in the papers about four years ago. Today, the technique is spreading quickly across the world. The discovery of such technique was such a momentous event that Science, a journal, named it “the breakthrough of the year.” With this tool, scientists have better access to understand how the genes and cells in our body work. With so much ease with the Crispt-Cas 9 scientist have the ability to do things that they have never done before. They now have the chance to cure diseases and strengthen mankind from getting diseases. Other scientists have tried experiments to genes that are specifically dealing genetic makeup. Many people feel that it is unethical to change the genes of another person. The genes in a person’s body literally make up who they are. If scientists have the ability to make such edits to genes, people will lose what biologically makes them who they are. Others might take advantage of the system and try to get all the “good” genes to make themselves the best human beings as possible. This may sound like idea, but humans are imperfect, and if people have the ability to come perfect, we might lose some of our …show more content…
The archaeologists say that this finding is the best preserved dwellings of the Bronze Age ever found in Britain. These findings will provide remarkable intuition into prehistoric life from three thousand years ago. The settlement, built on stilts, apparently collapsed during a fire and then plunged into a river, which is the main reason why the houses are such in pristine shape. Archeologists have found already many items other than the infrastructure at this particular site about two meters under the ground’s surface. Some items that they found include small cups, bowls, jars, and glass beads that formed part of a necklace. They also discovered footprints of the people who lived there because it was so well preserved. This site found by these archaeologists is monumental. Just from a few findings, the archeologists from the University of Cambridge can help us discover more insight on what happened in the past. By understanding the past, it can help uncover the idea of evolution and how humans evolved to their modern state. It will also be exciting to learn what similarities humans had with these people of the Bronze Age. Nonetheless, the fact that it so well preserved, it might be better off and just left intact.
