• Speech- Verbal communication; the act of speaking; the articulation of words to express thoughts, feelings or ideas.
• Language- a recognised, structured system of gestures, signs and symbols used to communicate.
• Communication- the transmission of thoughts, feelings or information via body language, signals, speech or writing.
• speech, language and communication needs- are additional or special needs that affect a person’s ability to communicate and interact effectively with others.

1.2 Explain how speech, language and communication skills support each of the following areas in children's development:

Learning:
• Babies use sounds and facial expressions to communicate needs and express themselves.

If the child at home is spoken to, talks to their other siblings at and parents about their day. There vocabulary is more likely to increase which then will be able to help in their speech and language. Reading books at home also is an advantage which will help children in their literacy skills.

4.1 Explain the importance of the environment in supporting speech, language and communication development.

A well planned and stimulating environment is essential to children’s language development. Play and conversation are important elements in this development because it is through these that young children learn about themselves, other people and the world around them. When planning and providing an enabling physical environment for children you must ensure that the setting meets regulatory health and safety requirements. You must maintain procedures for risk assessment an health and safety including maintaining children’s safety during play and learning activities.

The way the environment is organised to support children’s speech, language and communication depends on:
• The type of setting and the age range of the children
• Any specific curriculum requirements, such as the EYFS
• The resources for particular activities
• The developmental needs for the children
• The play and or learning objectives for the

Markets have begun to swing on fears that the global recovery may be faltering, while risks of extreme events are rising. Amidst this gloomy landscape, India stands out as a haven of stability and an outpost of opportunity. Its macro-economy is stable, founded on the government’s commitment to fiscal consolidation and low inflation. Its economic growth is amongst the highest in the world, helped by a reorientation of government spending toward needed public infrastructure. These achievements are remarkable not least because they have been accomplished in the face of global headwinds and a second successive season of poor rainfall. The task now is to sustain them in an even more difficult global environment. This will require careful economic management. As regards monetary and liquidity policy, the benign outlook for inflation, widening output gaps, the uncertainty about the growth outlook and the over-indebtedness of the corporate sector all imply that there is room for easing. Fiscal consolidation continues to be vital, and will need to maintain credibility and reduce debt, in an uncertain global environment, while sustaining growth.
