Dansville takes a great sense of pride in the character traits we incorporate into the curriculum. This Aggie pride has shaped me into the individual I am today. Everyone has their forte, mine are all traceable back to the character traits Dansville has embedded in my life. Some of my most distinctive qualities that set me apart are commitment and achievement which come to together in the form of excellence. The first character trait I have demonstrated at Dansville High School is commitment. Commitment refers to your dedication or devotion to the goal at stake. It makes sense; you need to commit in order to have the drive to follow through. For a goal driven individual like myself, I needed to commit to the hard work of managing my time in order to be successful. I had to balance Dansville classes, Cosmetology at the Capital Area Career Center, and extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, and family functions. That is taking into account my required courses, AP Calculus, and three college classes. Moreover, I have received many awards within those classes. Each year I have gotten a Top Student Award for subjects including mathematics, Spanish, or social studies. I was also selected for Student of the Quarter and the Character Award my junior year and The President's Award for Educational Excellence my senior year for exemplifying qualities noticed by the staff. I have also earned awards for my participation in sports, both at the junior varsity and varsity level. I received my varsity letter for softball, soccer, and volleyball. I was recognized for the Individual Academic Certificate for earning excellent grades while playing varsity volleyball my senior year.
