Diane Schulte is one of the people I look up to most. She is caring, honest, thoughtful, humble, hard working, and so much more. I was lucky enough to have her as my first grade teacher, and I can now say she is one of my best friends. Mrs. Schulte was raised on a farm in Ames, Iowa. She knew from a young age what she wanted to do with her life and what she wanted to be when she grew up. She went to Iowa State University to major in elementary education. Mrs. Schulte applied for her first job in 1973 at Odebolt-Arthur elementary, and hasn’t left since! I admire her work ethic, how dedicated she is to her job, and how much she cares about kids and their education. She has influenced me to follow in her footsteps and hopefully become half the teacher she is someday!…show more content… She doesn’t have to continue working, but she enjoys what she does, and continues to want to make a difference in other lives. She’s made me realized that material things don’t matter near as much as the people you have in your life.
Mrs. Schulte is a perfectionist. I love this about her, because I am the same exact way. She does everything to the best of her ability and takes her time, so whatever she is doing is exactly the way she wants it done. You can look at her bulletin boards in her classroom, her perfect penmanship, and how neat and organized everything she has is, and can tell she has all her ducks in a row.
She always has the best advice for any given situation. Since she’s so much older than me, she can look at things from a different perspective, and make me realize what’s the best decision to make. I’m so glad that I can tell her absolutely anything, and she won’t judge me. She won’t let me cave to peer pressure and helps me realize my self worth. If I didn’t have her in my life, I don’t know what I would do. She always pushes me to be the best person I can be, and believes in me when no one else
