In the task I am going to people talking about the different learning styles and how people may take information

Kinaesthetic learning
A Kinaesthetic learner is someone who remembers/Learns things physically. This is very effective for these types of learners as they would be doing the physical aspects of their work such as in ict creating motherboards or putting an computer together in order for them to put or create computers they need to have built or repaired computers previously forcing them to remember steps allowing them to become a kinaesthetic learner.

Visual Learning
A Visual Learner is someone who remembers information either by reading something or looking at pictures anything visual allows them to learn and pick up information easier than any other type of learning style. This type of learning will be very effective as you are shown pictures that will help you to understand the text that is given and will make it a lot easier to remember the information given to you .

Auditory Learning
An Auditory Learner has very similar skills to those who learn visually but instead of them visually retaining information they instead listen to remember information instead. If they are in class listening to the employer or teacher they can understand well and learn very effectively and also recall things. These types of learners can listen to the Radio, conferences or CD,s and be able to retain the information effectively.

The way in which I learn is partially by Visually Learning because I am able to learn my information by remembering certain text and images that I view and if asked I am able to reproduce this information and I find it easier to read a book or by watching a documentary for example if I was to go to a conference I would be able to retain some of the information but not enough that would allow me to reproduce the information

Santiago Ronkiel R. Serrano Dennis L. Garan Rod Carlo D. Agpalo Reggie Eridio Chapter I A. Introduction According to Kolb’s (1984) many people recognize that each person prefers different learning styles and techniques. Learning styles group common ways that people learn. Everyone has a mix of learning styles. Some people may find that they have a dominant style of learning, with far less use of the other styles. Others may find that they use different styles in different circumstances. There is no right mix. Nor are your styles fixed. You can develop ability in less dominant styles, as well as further develop styles that you already use well. Many people recognize that each person prefers different learning styles and techniques. ...According to Gulbahar and Alper (2011), learning styles are referred to as the ways people “receive and process information” or the means of “perceiving, processing, storing, and recalling attempts in the learning process”, whereas learning preference is “the choice the individual makes for one learning situation or condition over another” (Cahill & Madigan, 1984). Learning styles and learning preferences tend to increase the quality of learning, and no single preferred learning style works for everyone. There are basically five different learning preferences: visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic, and mixture or multimodal (VARK Learning Styles, 2015), and different strategies can be applied to each learning preference. Individual with visual preference learns best when information is presented in maps, diagrams, charts, and graphs. Individual with aural preference learns best from lectures, tapes, discussion, and speaking, and individual with read/write preference learns best when information is in words, whereas individual with kinesthetic learns best with experience, examples, practice and application. Individual with mixtures is multi-dimensional, and one style is insufficient (VARK Learning Styles, 2015). An individual can particularly be strong in one preference, for example, read/write preference. With this individual learning can be best accomplished by using printed words such as lists, dictionaries, handouts, textbooks, and notes. Learning strategies for this preference can...

...questionnaire assesses a persons’ learning style. Learning style refers to the way a person gathers, processes, organizes and thinks about information ("Learning styles," n.d.). The acronym VARK refers to visual, auditory, read/write and kinesthetic (Fleming & Baum, 2006). VARK is utilized by students and teachers to assist in determining which learning technique or combinations of techniques are used by the person being tested. This tool will allow a person to identify and understand ones strengths and weaknesses which can lead to strategies to help strengthen any identified weaknesses. There are a multiple of learning environments which a student must adapt to. These various environments require a person to implement different learning styles for their own success. The results of the VARK questionnaire will capitulate number results for each learning style and indicate how an individual functions in each kind of learning style. Usually the results will reveal one or two types of learning styles in which the person excels (Bednarik,R., & Franti,P., 2004). Here are the results from an individual that recently took the VARK online assessment. Visual=3, Aural=6, Read/Write=2, Kinesthetic=6. As seen, the score of the test reveals an equality on kinesthetic and aural styles of learning, and an inadequacy in read/write (Fleming & Baum, 2006). This assessment shows the individual where their strengths and weaknesses lie. Understanding ones’ learning preference can be helpful...

...The VARK learning questionnaire was developed by Neil Fleming of Christchurch, New Zealand in 1987. The VARK is a tool used to provide people with their own personal learning preference. It is used to help individuals learn ways that each of us take in and give out knowledge. The different styles of learning are visual, aural/auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic. • Visual (V) learners prefer information placed in maps, spider diagrams, charts, graphs, labeled diagrams and symbolic arrows. • Aural/Auditory (A) learners prefer information that is heard. This type of learner has a preference to lectures, group discussion, emails, speaking, and web-chats. They prefer talking out loud and to self. They prefer to sort things out in their own way. • Read/Write (R) learners like information provided in words. The preferred leaning modalities text bases in such forms as manuals, reports, essays and PowerPoints. • Kinesthetic (K) learners prefer experience and practice. They prefer the information provided to be through concrete personal experiences or practice and the hands on approach. I, like 50 to 75 percent of people that take the questionnaire, scored in the multi-dimensional category with a preference towards the read/write and kinesthetic categories. Preference to the Read/Write category means that people that fall into this category like words and are strong note takers. They should take information from dictionaries, glossaries, list, notes, and essays and usually...

...Vark Analysis paper Introduction Individual learning styles vary from student to student. Each student brings different experiences, culture, level of preparedness and learning style to class room environment. To understand your individual learning style Neil Fleming as a questionnaire for understanding learning styles. The VARK-Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic questionnaire was developed to be used as tool to better understand learning styles and how to apply to learning. VARK focuses on the sensory modality dimension of learning; the way that information is taken And processed by the leaner: visual, aural, read/write, or kinesthetic (Sinclaire, Spring 2012). Visual learners favor information presented in diagrams, illustration, powerpoints and handouts. Also the visual learner is more likely to take additional notes during lectures. Learning by seeing the information being presented. Aural learners learn through listening. During Aural learning the student learns best hearing lectures, tutorials and discussions. Autditory learners understand the underlying meaning of speech through active listening. Read/Write learners favor printed information. They learn best through reading and writing. Read/Write learners comprehend information being displayed as words. Kinesthetic learners learn through touching, moving and doing. The hand on approach works well for kinesthetic learners. The kinesthetic learners needs to...

Communication and Collaboration Strategy

...individuals are difficult skills because of the variety of learning styles and personality types that each individual may have. Understanding different learning styles and personality types can aid in communication and collaboration. By knowing about learning styles and personality types, an individual can adjust communication to a form best received by the other individual. The first step in mastering these skills is to understand learning styles. According to Keys to College Studying, there are eight different learning styles or multiple intelligences. Three of these, and the three that I have heard about most often, are Verbal/Linguistic, Visual/Spatial, and Bodily/Kinesthetic. Verbal/Linguistic learners have the ability to communicate through language. Their strengths include listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Visual/Spatial learners understand spatial relationships and can perceive and create images that assist with their understanding. Bodily/kinesthetic learners have the ability to take in information through bodily sensation. These three learning styles include the people whom learn best by hearing the material, seeing the material, or learning by doing. Each learning style brings its own challenge concerning communication and collaborating with individuals who have different learning styles. I believe the most important strategy in assisting communication is to become aware of the different learning styles that are present. The next step in communication and collaborating...

Vark Questionnaire

...The results from the VARK questionnaire were based off of the several questions that pertained to the various learning styles. The learning style that was assigned was Mild kinesthetic learning style. The results that were received were given in different categories for learning which are: Visual: 2; Aural: 4; Read/Write: 4; Kinesthetic: 6. The questions given were designed to interpret the combination of the several learning aids such as written directions, lists, audio, visual, diagrams, pictures, real life experiences, etc. (VARK) For people with a kinesthetic learning style, they use their past experiences and other realist things to learn material. (VARK) Some key words that were associated with this preference include senses, practical exercises, examples, cases, and trial & error. (VARK) Some of the preferred learning strategies that one can associate myself with is attending classes, attending discussions and tutorials, discussing topics with others, listening to professors who supply realistic examples, doing hands-on activities, and reviewing previous exam papers. All of these learning strategies help to create the type of student people see myself as. After doing the questionnaire and receiving the result the identified learning strategies associated with my identified learning style includes: using all your senses - sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing, working in laboratories, going on field trips, going on field tours, using examples of principles, listening...

...VARK: Analysis of Learning Styles Sejal Amin Grand Canyon University: N429V November 2, 2014 Learning style is a unique approach to learn based on strengths, weaknesses and preferences of an individual. Each person has a different learning styles and strategies depending on their preference, techniques, situation and environment. One has to process information, analyze the information and use it to make decisions and create new meanings and then if necessary change the process. Learning strategies is how a person approaches learning and uses the information. Learning strategies helps learner understand information, solve problems and be successful. Student Learning Style VARK has identified four different strategies to learning which is visual, aural, read/write and kinesthetic. VARK provides students information regarding indication of their stronger and weaker preferences. Each learning style has its own preferred method for intake and output of information. Not all students have one preferred method, one can use different learning style in different situations, which is multimodal. Visual learners take in information by pictures and analyzing each portion, aural learner prefer to hear things by taping lectures and attend discussions, kinesthetic learner can use samples, photographs etc., and read/write learner take in information by using dictionaries, reviewing notes, textbooks, handouts etc. According to VARK the results of the quiz taken was visual-three,...

...VARK Analysis Paper NRS-429V June 23, 2014 VARK Analysis Paper Learning styles or preferences are based on personal characteristics, preferences or individual strengths. It can be important for students to know or be familiar with their specific style of learning, so that they can develop learning strategies that can help them be successful in the material being studied. You can use tools to help ascertain the specific learning styles, like the VARK questionnaire. It provides an insight to how you “take in and give out information” (Fleming, 2014, FAQ). Also, it can help to isolate and identify strategies based on your identified learning preference. Based on the Vark questionnaire taken, my learning preference is multimodal. The multimodal preference may consist of two or more learning styles, which are comprised of Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic (VARK). The results were as follows: * Visual: 8 * Aural: 3 * Read/write: 6 * Kinesthetic: 7 The results reflect a strong preference to Visual, Read/write, and Kinesthetic (VRK). The multimodal preference can prove beneficial to learning information, but can also have drawbacks. With a multimodal approach to learning one can employ different means of processing the information whether it is being presented through visual presentations, lectures, demonstrations, or reading assignments. The student can adapt or match a preference with what is being presented (Fleming, 2011). In contrast...

...The Vark Analysis: An Examination of Different Learning Styles Cyndi Gamble Grand Canyon University The Vark Analysis: an examination of different learning styles This paper is an examination of the awareness of the learning styles as explained by the VARK website. Although there are four learning styles, this paper will focus on the read/write learning style. It will examine the preferred learning strategies, and recommended strategies for this style. It will also discuss how awareness of these styles and strategies influence not only the learner, but the instructor as well. Although some people may have a “multimodal” learning style, they will usually score higher in one of the four categories, and tend to use that style more often. Read/Write Learning style People who fall into the read/write learning style category tend to take in knowledge through the written word. Read/writers find meaning in words. These learners fit well into conventional learning environments with traditional study techniques. They appreciate instructors who articulate well with expertise and understanding of language and grammar (Claire & Chris, 2014). Read/writers like text in any form or format. Simply put, read/writers “learn best through words” ("Learning styles," n.d., p. 1). And not surprisingly, they enjoy reading both for learning and pleasure. Preferred/Identified Learning Strategies The written word is the preferred learning strategy for learners in the read/write...

Vark Learning Analysis

...VARK Learning Analysis December 27, 2014 Everyone learns differently not all learners are the same, each individual has a unique and complex system of thinking and learning. But knowing personal preferred learning style can increase the chance of success in school or at work and can enhance self-esteem. “Learning style varies with the personality style”. (Barman, A; Jaafar, R; & Rahim, A; 2009, p.257). Studies have shown that researchers have found various styles of learning but the most famous modal was created by Neil Fleming, an educator, who designed VARK Learning Style which increase the ability of students to improve their learning to be a successful to achieve their goals in school and in carrier which provide them an opportunity for better understand their students through VARK learning assessment. VARK learning modal identifies four basic learning styles. VARK stand for visual, aural, read/write and kinesthetic. Visual style help learners by remembering things, such as facts they see with their naked eye and to remember it more lastingly. Visual style play a vital role in our everyday lives, it also helps learners to learn more effectively. Aural learning style provide an opportunity for the learner to hear attentively by utilizing his/her hearing skills and write the notes easily. They are also good at oral exams, effective listeners to information delivered orally, such as lectures speeches and oral sessions. The read/write learners prefers to take notes...

...Learning is a process by which someone receives, retain and reproduce information when necessary. It is important to tailor the study habits discretely for effective learning.(UBC-the learning process) VARK assessment gives the learner an insight into their learning style which gives them an opportunity to adapt different strategies to enhance their learning. The learning modalities included in this analysis are visual, aural, read/write and kinesthetic. A combination of more than one style is referred as multimodal. The learning style preference identified for the author using VARK was multimodal with two strong preferences on aural and kinesthetic with a score of 11 each. The read/write mode was also included with a score of 7.The advantage of Multimodal learners are that they uses information from different sources which enable them to understand a concept deeply. The more different ways someone learn, the more they understand and remember a concept. The learner on this mode can match or combine the learning with other people they are working with even if the group members have other learning styles. This will smoothen the learning process and enhance communication among the group members. They can also use single preference mode according to the learning situation. This versatility helps them to see things from different perspectives. On the other hand the multimodal learners have the disadvantage of being slow in taking decision as they are careful in gathering information...

...Learning styles - The Theory of Multiple Intelligences Have you ever though why you cannot get something when another person can learn with ease? Or why you have to have detail information when another person has never opened a book to get an A? Most people have never though that everyone learns different ways. The learning style you have can be different than your best friends’ learning style. Learning about the different learning styles can help you discover how to teach you to learn your way. The first learning style is Visual Learning. What is the Visual Learning Style? This style has to see what is being talk about. In a class, you can listen to a lecture. You cannot quite figure out what is being said until the teacher either writes down the notes or shows an object or picture. That is visual learning. Students may have to take notes or write pictures of their own. They may have to close their eyes to see the picture of what they are hearing. They benefit from using illustrations or PowerPoint presentations that use color or pictures. When trying to find a visual learner, you notice that they are usually neat and clean. They can be very organized. They tend to sit at the front of the classroom. They are usually looking around the classroom as if they are bored or looking for something. Overall, visual learning can be one of the hardest learning styles to have because of all the items involved to have. (Starbuck, 2013) Auditory Learning is the next style to have in learning...

Learning Styles

...Investigation into My Learning Style Ben Thiel COLL100 American Military University Professor Corey Tutor Investigation into My Learning Style Throughout life the term “learning style” is used, each individual has a different assumption of the definition mostly the individual takes on a personal stance and states, “I’m an auditory learner, if you say it once I will remember,” whereas others refer to themselves as most commonly visual or kinesthetic students. However, for one to limit themselves to possessing one type of learning style is quite a limitation. I have always considered my learning style to be predominately visual learner. According to Felder & Soloman, (n.d.) there are multiple learning styles aside from the traditional visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Felder & Soloman (n.d) present eight different learning styles which include; active, reflective, sensing, intuitive, visual, verbal, sequential, and global. Although these styles tend to pull from the traditional three; their definitions give more depth to the characteristics associated with one’s preferred learning style. Felder & Soloman developed a personal questionnaire which allows an individual to answer a series of forty-four questions. Results are given to the individual based on their responses; the scales range from one to eleven in one direction or the other these values compare two learning styles. The numerical value represents the individual’s preference for one learning style verse the opposing...

...the most of their learning experience it is important for them to be aware of their preferred learning style. A great tool used in determining learning style preferences is the VARK (visual, audio, read/write, kinesthetic) questionnaire. The VARK learning style assessment was developed by Neil Fleming in 1987. The questionnaire consists of 16 questions with multiple answer options. Respondents are allowed to skip a question or pick multiple answer choices if necessary (Barman, Jaafar, & Rahim, 2009). Those taking the questionnaire find the questions easy to relate to since they are based on real life situations (Rogers, 2009). Once the questionnaire is completed a score will be provided along with the corresponding learning preference and identified learning strategies. It is necessary for students to be aware of their learning style preference and to know the best way to study in order to reach their full learning potential. This paper will discuss the VARK questionnaire results of the author of this paper. After completing the VARK questionnaire, results for this author showed a multimodal learning preference. Those falling into this category have no defined preference. According to the VARK website, “If you have multiple preferences you are in the majority, as approximately 60% of any population fits that category” (http://www.vark-learn.com). This author finds using different combinations of the VARK modes to be most effective when learning and presenting material...
