Introduction:
I successfully completed my first Co-op work term at Transportation Canada as a human resources generalist working out of the regional directors office. Transport Canada is the federal department responsible for most of the transportation policies, programs and goals of the Government of Canada. Transport work to provide Canadians with a safe, secure and efficient transportation system that protects the environment. I was responsible for developing a fundamental framework for the management team on the regional issues in respect to remote employee supervision, remote employee engagement and communications. This position has provided me with various amounts of real business world experiences ranging from project management skills, public speaking skills and written skills, as these are all very important skills to have in the business environment in order to become a manager one day.
My summer position was an HR position I am currently attempting to complete a double major in Finance and accounting, the experiences I acquired through my summer position were more qualitative rather the nature of my degrees quantitative aspect.
The Job:
At Transport Canada, I was involved in one main project. My responsibility as the project lead was to analyze current Remote supervision, engagement and communications practices along side benchmarking current practices to well-known industry standards, which are common practices among high performing firms. How I got to know the understand transports current practices was reading through internal corporate directives, developing questionnaires for management and hosting work shops for managers to allow the flow of conversation which also provided managers new ways to supervise

Dental Hygienist Career

...it takes to become a dental hygienist one has to comprehend the core tasks, employment outlook, education requirements, and the job salary. Examining teeth and gums visually and with x-rays to find tooth decay and gum disease, reporting problems to the dentist, scraping hard built-up material off of teeth, polishing the patients’ teeth, keeping track of patients’ dental records, and giving advice on preventive dental care are just some of the tasks assigned to a dental hygienist (Welcome). “As an assistant I am responsible for seating the patient, making sure their health history is up to date, discussing the treatment that will be done and answering questions that they may have,” said Selena Callahan, expanded functions dental assistant (EFDA). The assistants are also responsible for assisting the doctor during the procedure and going over any post operative instructions that the patient needs to follow. Hygienists present treatment and cost to the patient, they give oral hygiene instructions, order supplies, prepare lab cases, ensure all equipment is in proper working order, and keep all operatories clean and follow the OSHA regulations in regards to infection control (Callahan). Hygienists are often supervised by dentists throughout the day, and sometimes they are required to supervise the dental assistants.
