...Background Study According to a dictionary definition, “A gadget is a small tool or device that has a specific useful purpose and function. Gadgets tend to be more unusual or cleverly designed than normal technology.” Our lives were changed by technology since the 20th century. Many gadgets that were invented back then were now forgotten or disregarded. All gadgets were created differently. In fact most gadgets are built on the newest technology. Devices fall into four categories: mechanical, electronic, programmable, and application. Mechanical gadgets include the wheel, the pulley, the bicycle, the sail boat, and the sort. Followed by electricity, gadgets were improved and taken to a new level as inventors discover a different uses of newly applied electricity. The television, radio and quartz watch are some of the examples of electronic devices. After electricity, inventors toyed around with electronic information via microprocessor where begins the age of programmable devices such as computers, and later, MP3 players and the iPhone. Application gadgets include iTunes, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications that customize our experience in programmable devices. In today’s generation, modern technology has improved people's lives in many fields such as medicine, work, industry, and especially in education. This helps not only the professionals but also the children and students at the very young age. Way back then where technology does not still exists, student...

...though most of these children are in elementary school and are not even old enough to have a Facebook or other social network sites. “The incidence of cyber-bullying increases during elementary school, peaks in middle school and decreases in high school.”(Snakenborg, Van Acker, Gable page 90). This goes to show that parents need to be more aware and more controlling over what their children are doing and who they are hanging out with. Cyber-bullying also has a different outcome when looking at the aspects of males and females. During face to face bullying, “males are the primary instigators and victims.” (Snakenborg, Van Acker and Gable. Page 90.) When cyber-bullying females are “25% more likely victims.”(Snakenborg, Van Aker and Gable. Page 90). This increases the one that is bullying’s control over the situation because they believe that they are reaming anonymous. Having a sense of control can heighten a juvenile’s belief that they fit in and can be with friends with a certain crowd of people. A juvenile’s behavior is a major factor into why they would bully another peer on through electronic devices. This depends on the motivation which varies from person to person. The most common factors include, “attention, escape or avoidance, peer affiliation, power and control and justice and revenge.” (Snakenborg, Van Acker, and Gable page 93). Most of the time these bullies were victims of regular bullying and feel safe when going to an electronic device to take out there hurt and...

...largest and leading companies of electronics in the world. They are best known for their Mac Computers, iPhones, and iPads. Apple, according to Fortune magazine, is called the most admired company in the United States and the rest of the world. The mastermind behind it all is Steve Jobs. He is one of the most noted people in technological history, making technology at its best. He was the co-founder of Apple and the company chairman. Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. His biological parents were Joanne Simpson and Abdulfattah Jandali. His father was from Syria. Because his parents were unable to care for him, Steve was put up for adoption. His adoption parents, Paul and Clara Jobs, took him into their houshold. Before he started elementary school, Clara taught Steve how to read. When Steve finally entered elementary school, it was not how he thought it would be. “I was kind of bored for the first few years, so I occupied myself by getting into trouble. I encountered authority of a different kind than I had ever encountered before, and I did not like it” (Isaacson 25). To count for all the boredom he experienced in school, Steve and his friend, Rick Ferentino, pulled all sorts of pranks in third grade. Some involved “making posters announcing 'Bring Your Pet to School Day' “ and “convincing others to give us their bike locks, then switching all of them” (Isaacson 26). The first three years of elementary school were useless to Steve. He...

Solis Jr. Instructor Submitted by: Bansale, Joseph B. Mendoza, Jennina L. Vega Blessed Joy A. Date submitted: September 30, 2013 I. Introduction Background of the Study Learning Management System (LMS) is responsible for “learning” activities. Online learning tasks can be performed at any time or place provided they have Internet access. Online learning environments thus differ significantly from traditional learning environments, where teachers and students must meet regularly at a specific place and time. Online learners become more free, flexible and convenient in time and location of learning. The Philippine Christian University (PCU) elementary school had truly gone a long way it had when it first opened in 1971. Today, it boasts of considerable increase in number of pupils and teachers, as well, thus fulfilling the dreams of the founders of the institution. Indeed, it is a legend turned into reality! Elementary Department indeed is pride and big assets of Philippine Christian University as a whole. Just like any other school in the whole world, Philippine Christian University has a definite problem. It may not be a big problem...

...20 students are affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder ( ADHD ). Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is associated with poor grades, poor reading and math standardized test scores, and increased grade retention.Sometimes it can be hard to analyze whether a child's behavior is normal or the sign of a behavioral disorder. Unless it is recognized teachers may assume that the child does not want to learn rather than being affected by this debilitating disorder. It is important to establish the nature, severity, and persistence of these school difficulties in children with ADHD as one may assume that electronic devices are the cause of diminishing students attention. However, there are a few examples that I would like iterate one being that the IPod touch has transformed the learning experience for fourth-grade students at Central Elementary School in Escondido, California. These students are excited about learning and have seen its potential as a learning tool for students to improve their fluency and comprehension. In a six-week period, students’ reading fluency increased at six times the rate considered normal for that period of time. After six months, students gained almost two years of reading comprehension. A growing number of schools across the nation are embracing the IPad as the latest tool to teach Kafka in multimedia, history through “Jeopardy”-like games and math with step-by-step animation of complex problems. The learning environment coupled...
