ELTON MAYO
The psychologist, sociologist and an organization theorist who was known as the founder of the Human Relations Movement Sir Elton Mayo was born in Adelaide, South Australia on 26 December 1880 and died in Guildford, Surrey on 1st September 1949. Elton was expected to follow his grandfather into medicine, but failed at university studies and was sent to Britain. Here he turned to writing, wrote on Australian politics for the Pall Mall Gazette and taught at the Working Men's College in London.Mayo taught philosophy, ethics, metaphysics, economics, education and the new psychology of Freud,Jung and especially Pierre Janet. From the beginning he trained himself in public speaking, and became an outstanding lecturer. He spoke at Worker's Education Association classes and tutorials, and addressed unions and professional bodies. Human Relations Movement basically is the study of the behavior of people in groups, particularly in workplace groups and for his research including the Hawthorne Studies which examined the effects of social relations, motivation and employee satisfaction. In 1927, a group of researchers led by Elton Mayo and Fritz Roethlisberger of the Harvard Business School were invited to join in the studies at the Hawthorne Works of Western Electric Company, Chicago. Elton Mayo and his associates conducted their studies in the Hawthorne plant of the western electrical company, U.S.A., between 1927 and 1930.The experiments that he conducted were Illumination Experiment,Relay Assembly Test Room Experiment, Interviewing Programme and Bank Wiring Test Room Experiment.

They come to Nobel the lion king to suggest the execution of Reynard for his villainous acts. The fist part of the story summarizes various “crimes” Reynard has committed. One such example involves puss the hair being abused by Reynard.1 The final decision is made that in order to properly punish Reynard, he must be summoned to court in order to tell his side of the story and defend himself. He was banned for life after a recording of a conversation between himself and a female friend was released to the public. In the recording Sterling was irritated over a photo his female friend posted on Instagram, where she was with Basketball Hall of Fame player Magic Johnson. ...I will be comparing the soldiers’ experience from ‘Blackadder Goes Forth’, a television sitcom written by Ben Elton and Richard Curtis with ‘Journey’s End’ which is a play that projects the reality of the war written by R.C. Sherriff. These are two texts that convey a dark impression of WW1. The similarities between both the texts is that they both were set in the final stages of the war but with ‘Blackadder Goes Forth’ set in many different places whilst ‘Journey’s End’ was set in one common setting. However the differences in genre can sometimes increase or decrease the severity of the impression created for the audience. I personally think that ‘Blackadder Goes Forth’ is an anti-war message, where it mocks the way WW1 was orchestrated by the Generals and the government, whereas in ‘Journey’s End’, a serious play, the focus is more on the psychological, claustrophobic conditions of the war and what really happens in the war. Thus it has been said that ‘Journey’s End’ is a compelling account of warfare, based upon Sheriff’s own experience as a Captain in the East Surrey regiment, depicting war as a meaningless and destructive.
