...ETHICS AT WORK ANTHONY HAMPTON GN200 12/04/2010 DAVID UBEDA ETHICS AT WORK Today’s work force is governed through the implications of rules, legal restrictions that tell you if something is considered, in the eyes of the workforce, to be right or wrong. All of these rules were developed to uphold and maintain a ridged idea of ethical and moral values. For example the “10 Commandments” which are thousands of years old, were created to teach ethical values, the difference between right and wrong. In this essay Anthony is pointing out three codes of ethics. 1) The structure of the probation period, resignation, and dismissal. 2) The golden rule. 3) The theft of any company materials. These codes of ethics values are just a few of how it matches up to Anthony values. ...Business ethics are a pivotal aspect in strategic business finance, or finance in general. Poor ethical practices and immoral acts have been conducted across many years by many individuals and businesses in the business world in regards to finance. This paper will focus on two of the more well-known ethical issues that occurred in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Enron Corporation and WorldCom. This paper will focus on the factors that led to the demise of the corporations, as well as the violations that occurred within the accounting practices, and the specific ethical violations in strategic financial planning. To summarize, the largest contributing factor to the demise of Enron Corporation and WorldCom was simply corporate governance failure (Stanford GSB Staff, 2016). The smaller factors that led to the governance failure were such things as increases in executive compensation and stock options, jumps to incentives to manage earnings, and major shifts in the structure of auditing firms. These changes directly led to the loss of money and public confidence. These reason can be classified as nothing other than management greed. This can be validated by the statistical increases in worker compensation which rose forty-two percent in the 1990s as well as corporate profits rose eighty-eight percent, the standard and poor index increased two hundred and forty-eight percent, as well as CEO compensation rose four hundred and sixty-three percent during this timeframe (Stanford GSB...

...Breach of Contract of Abandonment of Employment By Jonathan Freeman As an educator you should always remain professional during your career. Always take the high road during altercations and be the example for your students and faculty. One aspect of being professional is honoring your contract. If you sign your name to contract s stating that you will perform services for that school then you should do what is required of you in the contract. Always maintain your professional stance and do what your job. There are many things you should never do when it comes to being teacher. It is considered unethical practice to abandon a contract without release from school board. So leaving a school without proper dismissal is a big problem. Never be the one who just leaves a job the wrong way. Be the person who always does the right thing is someone is watching or not. You should never refuse to do your job. Refusing to perform services that are asked of you that are required by contract is something you should never do. There are going to be good days and bad days when going into the teaching profession. Those are the days when you are going to have to dig deep to find a way to keep your smile and positive attitude. To refuse to do your job is just signs of a bad attitude and the teaching profession have no place for bad attitudes. I feel like doing these reports on the code of ethics is still very good. It makes people aware of them and they should read it to know what do and...

...Ethics in Psychological assessments Consider the American psychological Association writing the first formal code of ethics in 1942, detailing professional use of assessments. Addressed were qualifications for the test users, responsibilities, principles, guidelines, application and use of assessments for psychologists. Additionally the American counseling Association code of ethics provides expectations for conduct with the primary emphasis being on the role of the professional counselor. Again MFT provides the some code of ethics in which to provide expectations of the licensed Marriage and Family therapist. Examples of provisions within those guidelines for the use of assessments, but more specifically the responsibility of the professional counselor, plus implications for not following ethical decision making model of principles. While considering the foundation set forth by those professionals with wisdom, experience and knowledge whom submitted a draft for approval, the American psychological association created an empirically developed code that was based on ethical dilemmas. Although the American Psychological Association had been in existence since 1892 with no formal code of ethics for over 59 years, there was a scientific /professional ethics, and code of conduct observed in 1950. A survey was used to gather actual descriptions of professional activities providing that guideline which set precedence for years to come in the APA profession. This was done with the...

...Summary This case study presents about a chemical manufacturing joint venture in China that involves a German parent firm and its Chinese partner. The German firm has conflicts on different aspects with China in terms of industrial safety, business ethics, and the environment. The Chinese however was upset that they cannot use gift, commissions, and other bribes to favorite their customers to gain more potential customers from China. Disagreement has arisen over whether the joint venture should pay a commission to a potential customers purchasing agent in order to gain a larger piece of the market value in China. Liu’s role is not that of sales manager or HR administrator. His job is to be translator between the two firms, to explain the perspective and reasoning of the Germans in terms that his Chinese colleagues can understand, and conversely, explain the minutae of Chinese business in way that resonates with the German head office. Liu must be able to sell the decisions and policies of the German parent company back to the employee in China. Simply saying to employees that they are a part of global company is meaningless when many of them lack of overseas experience to give context to this statement. Liu must frame the company policies in terms that have meaning to the local Chinese employees. Almond should focus on gaining target customers such as large international firm that do not go after companies that insist on bribes and commissions. Liu plays a major role...

HIPAA was a huge piece of legislation that was intended to fix many aspects of health care and health insurance, and includes sections that ensure portability of health insurance, simplify the administration of health insurance coverage, and standardize electronic transactions between health care providers and insurance companies. This is also the law that sets up Medical Savings Accounts and requires insurers to cover patients with pre-existing conditions. The section of HIPAA that concerns dentistry is the Privacy Rule; it addresses patient privacy issues and regulates how private health information is used and disclosed. This private health information includes the personal medical records and any other individually identifiable health information, either written or oral that is created or received by a health care provider. This includes information about the patient's past, present, or future health or physical condition and any payment information.
