...Euthanasia In this paper I will argue that Rachel’s first argument about active and passive euthanasia being morally on a par is true. By granting someone to die (if they are suffering and death is inevitable) you are letting him or her choose their own path. However active euthanasia should be an option for everyone to choose, if they are in this situation. When you know you are going to die soon and you are suffering why not be able to choose to end life quick with ease. The recent news story with the twenty nine year old Brittany Maynard who had chosen to die on November 1st 2014 shows a type of active euthanasia in which she is committing it herself. The way she did it was purposely over dosing on medication provided by a doctor. This form of euthanasia would probably be considered active euthanasia, but she is taking matters into her own hands. This leaves the question of is her doctor prescribing the medication (who is aware of her plan) morally responsible for her passing. There has been much debate about this and in my opinion he is not. Because nobody is putting someone down, but they are giving the option to people to put themselves down. The question of is active euthanasia wrong the answer is no. people need to accept the fact that if a person has chosen something it is their choice and nobody should have a say in it.
