...Famous thinkers all have things that help them achieve greatness during their lives. Creative ideas are the foundation of the creative process (Goodman and Fritchie, 2011). When they run across a problem that needs to be resolved, this is when they start coming up with their ideas. They may look at the same problem and have different ways to solve them from other people. In this paper Bertrand Russell who was born in 1872 and died in 1970 along with Martin Luther King Jr. who was born in 1929 and died in 1968 will be examined. They used their own creative process to motivate people into seeing different issues their way. Each one of these men made contributions during difficult times. In this paper specific problems and ideas that these men sought to solve, and the plans they put into action to resolve these problems. Their ideas and solutions were met with opposition from people who did not like change. Some of their solutions were constantly being improved. A part of these solutions were logical solutions which allowed them to be accepted without much resistance. The way these two men thought had a huge impact on the way other people started to think, this helped to make the outcome of personal issues for the better. Russell dealt with analytical philosophy dealing with realism, and King was for fighting against inequality and the injustice of segregation. From quill pens to ink pens, horse and carriages to the earliest motor vehicles, the segregation of Blacks and Whites to the Civil Rights movement, handwriting important information on tablets to storing important information in a computers; the Twentieth Century saw a tremendous amount of positive contributions to society. Some contributions made in the last century are often over-looked and taken for granted. North Americans in particular have become a bit spoiled with all that is “just there.” What we have forgotten, and often needs reiterated is that without the integrity and dedication found in the creative minds of the Twentieth Century, the United States would be living as if it were still 1901 rather than 2011. This for many today would be considered the dark ages. There are various individuals that are responsible for the growth during this time period. Two of the most influential, though each had separate goals, were Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bill Gates. Both individuals contributed a great amount and may have gone down in history as having changed the way the world thinks and worked personally, socially, and politically. Martin Luther King Jr. was arguably one of the most influential civil rights activists and speakers of the century...

...re used Perspectives Paper Psychology as we know is the study of the mind and human behavior. Since earlier years, there has been research performed to find out how individuals think, feel, and act. There are many different perspectives that psychologists use as a means of studying human behavior and how individuals think and feel. One of those perspectives is known as the Behavioral Perspective. The main focus of this perspective is behaviors that are learned. The difference between behaviorism and other perspectives is that its emphasis is placed on behaviors that can be observed, not on internal states (Cherry, 2014). There are many major thinkers that made contributions to the Behavioral Perspective, and their theories have been valuable, and serve as a basis for the schools of thought in modern psychology. In this paper, I will be comparing and contrasting the Behavioral Perspectives of John B. Watson and B. F. Skinner, with the perspectives of another major thinker known as Edward C. Tolman. The main focus of John B. Watson and of B. F. Skinner was behaviorism while Edward C. Tolman’s focus was Cognitive Behaviorism (Cherry, 2014). John B. Watson’s Perspectives John B. Watson was a major thinker and also a psychologist who was later known as the father of behaviorism. During part of the 20th Century, he dominated with his perspective of behavior. ...Famous Thinkers Scott Rheingold PHL/458 October 8th, 2012 Jessica Blair Famous Thinkers For my paper the two great thinkers that I chose to write about are Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr., and Jean-Paul Sartre. These two distinctly different men were born in different countries 24 years apart. Jean-Paul Sartre was born in Paris, France in 1905 and Doctor King was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1929. Jean-Paul Sartre was a philosopher and invented the anti-hero of modern literature. This is defined as “the suffering consciousness who does not act but who hides within his ego, disgusted by the obscene reality of external things (La Nausee, 1938). He also advocated the moral posture of existentialism. This philosophy is based on the self and takes precedence over moral code and custom in which others have a voice. His philosophy paints a portrait of the predicament we are placed in by self-consciousness in the world of objects. True to his existentialist views, Jean-Paul Sartre won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1964, but declined the honor. Doctor King, on the other hand was a social activist, specializing in civil rights. He grew up in the segregated South and received his Doctorate at Boston University in 1955. His exposure to the liberated North provided the motivation to fight segregation back home. Doctor King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his civil rights work. The political environment for Jean-Paul Sartre was...

...that a theorist can speculate from a specific point of view. A theory is a tool that is used by scientists to pursue knowledge. Many of the personality theories derive from the personality of the theorist. In this paper I am going to discuss the similarities and differences surrounding Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytical theory and Melanie Klein’s object relations theory. The most famous of all personality theories is psychoanalysis, developed by Sigmund Freud in the 1920s. Psychoanalysis is a school of thought that emphasized how the unconscious mind influenced behavior. Freud based his theories on the experiences he received from his patients. He believed that the human mind consisted of three components: the id, the ego and the super-ego. The id controlled the basic needs of the body such as hunger, thirst, sleep, etc… The ego makes sure that these needs are met as well as meeting the needs of the super-ego. The super-ego represents the ideal and moral aspects of a personality. Freud believed in free association, which was hard for some of his patients to master. This made dream analysis one of his famous forms of therapeutic technique. The Theories and methods in psychoanalytic thinking rely on research that is experimental. Theories made by psychoanalytic thinkers, such as Freud and Erickson, are still highly influential today. One of the greatest strengths in psychoanalysis is that it is very comprehensive. It explains mental functioning and the nature of human development...

...I always believe “Success comes in cans not can’ts”.The famous British writer says “Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works.” (Virginia Woolf, 1882) her peculiarities as a fiction writer have tended to obscure her central strength: she is arguably the major lyrical novelist in the English language. When I was young, I always knew that I wanted to become a writer someday, I would often write short stories. I have been a consistent academics performer in my school days. As a student I have learned so much stuff. Some of it was easy and some of it was a difficult. Initially I started writing short stories and then later on I started writing seriously and working on improving my skills to write a novel based on a true story. Finally I started writing a novel for which I worked on research paper, organization of a story and concluding in a proper way. One of the hardest things was discovering a story line. As I had a previous experience in writing but my mind running different thoughts and ideas and was unable to decide on which line to go. Gathering information is one of the processes in writing. After discussing with the lecturer I recollected all possible ideas which suits to my research paper. Finally I succeeded to choose the topic that I wanted to write in my novel. My research helped me a lot in developing the story of each line. My next job was to organizing a story. I have always been a...
