Female Friends vs. Male Friends

Everyone chooses who they will become friends with very early on in his or her life. If one is a male, he tends to choose a male friend over a female friend. On the other hand, if one is a female, she tends to choose a female friend over a male friend. Although many people choose a friend simply based on what common interests they share, others will just choose a friend just to have a friend. Female friends are by far the best kind of friend to have if one is a female herself. Having a female friend is more beneficial than having a male friend because female friends give better advice, relate better to another female, and have more things in common.

There are many differences in having a female friend compared to a male friend. One example is having a female friend gives better advice. Hair and makeup is something a male will not know anything about whereas the female will know everything about hair and makeup. For example, if I ask my fiancé,” What color should I dye my hair?” He will look at me strange, and say nothing. On the other hand, a female friend will give her advice and input to as what color it should be. Dating can be a hardship in a young female’s life. She will always have her female friend to give her dating advice. For example, female friends would come to other females to give them advice because she has already gone through what the other female has gone through, so she will have better advice to give although the man would not. Male friends would not know anything about what a female friend is thinking because he has not gone through dating like a female. Having female friends are definitely more relatable than male friends.

Having another female to relate too is another reason why having a female friend is better than having a male friend. Females love to shop and go to the mall. Male friends would

His estate consisted of a house and some cattle. He had entered into marriages with two wives, both marriages being according to African law and custom. The appellant, a female, had been born 1941 and was the child of the deceased’s first wife. The respondent, a male, had been born in 1946 and was the child of the deceased’s second wife. The appellant was thus the eldest child of the deceased. The respondent was not the eldest male child of the deceased, but the eldest male child had declined the heirship. T-Test

...T-test: Salaries of Female and Male Human Resource Managers Christy Newman Argosy University T-test: Salaries of Female and Male Human Resource Managers An independent-samples t-test using the raw measurement data presented was completed to check the difference, if any, of the salaries between female and male human resource managers, t(18) = -0.408, p = 0.688, but no significant difference was found (Female Mean = 62.2; Male Mean = 63.7). The preparation for a statistical analysis test began with a well-developed, clear research question: What is the difference, if any, between the salaries of female and male HR Directors? Next, the null and alternative hypotheses must be defined. The null H₀ is that the salaries of female human resource managers = salaries of male human resource managers. The alternative Ha is that salaries of female human resource managers ≠ salaries of male human resource managers. The next step in the process is to determine the appropriate statistical test and sampling distribution. Since σ is unknown and the number of salaries being tested is less than 100, the t-test will be used. Because we are comparing data from two different groups, the two-sample t-test will be used. We do not know if the variance is different or equal, so we will use the two-tailed t-test for two-sample assuming unequal variances. Subsequently, we have to choose the Type 1 Error rate. For this t-test, α = 0.05, which is the standard rate used by statisticians for research...

Costitutional Validity of Various Provisions of Hindu Succession Act

...________ CONCLUSION______________________________________________________________________ INTRODUCTION: Through this paper, I want to analyse the constitutional validity of various provisions of the Hindu Succession act, 1956 , which is a personal law applicable to Hindu citizens of India. I have attempted to briefly explain how the flaws in the said act pose a constitutional challenge and have also tried arriving at a solution for the same. ARE PERSONAL LAWS REALLY LAWS? Personal laws are laws that are governed by religious beliefs of India, which are applicable to citizens following that particular religion. The Supreme Court has agreed that these personal laws come within the term of “laws” In the case of Narsingh Pratap Deo v. State of Orissa (AIR 1964 SC 1793) the Supreme Court stated that...

Gender Discrimination in the Workplace

...I. Introduction Although the federal government enacted laws to eliminate gender discrimination in the workplace, it remains an issue on several levels. Specifically, women find themselves the victims of discrimination simply because of their gender. Although there are anti-discrimination laws in place, many employers still find ways around them. Currently, the courts simply award monetary compensation to those women who sue current or former employers. However, businesses found guilty of committing the crime of gender discrimination must endure stricter operating sanctions. The author was witness to the unethical and illegal treatment of a former elderly female employee whose work ethic was exemplary. The former employee (Shelly) received constant positive feedback from clients, students, and peers. She was employee of the year for three consecutive years because of her innate ability to settle disputes amicably. Shortly after her promotion to Assistant Director, the department hired a new instructor who was also an alumnus. He made it very clear that he disagreed with Shelly’s methods and relationship with the students and clinical coordinators. Overtime he demonstrated his ability to build a rapport with the coordinators and other program official; he was very ambitious. His relationship with Shelly bordered aggression and antagonism, but she remained professional and focused. However, when the coordinators began complaining about her performance to the Director...

ELWOOD Center for Public Health and Evaluation Research This research examined the relative importance of reasons for HIV disclosure/nondisclosure with a friend, intimate partner, and parents. Participants were 145 men and women with HIV. Overall, catharsis, a will to duty/educate, and having a close/supportive relationship were endorsed as reasons that influence HIV disclosure. Privacy, self–blame, fear of rejection, and protecting the other were endorsed as reasons that influence nondisclosure. Both men and women endorsed testing the other’s reaction as a reason for disclosing more for an intimate partner, whereas they endorsed privacy more as a reason for not disclosing to a friend. Men (mostly self–identified as homosexuals or bisexuals), but not women (mostly self–identified as heterosexuals), endorsed similarity as a reason for disclosing more to a friend or intimate partner than to a parent. The results are consistent with a Model of HIV–Disclosure Decision Making that indicates how cultural attitudes This research is partly supported by a research grant (#R01DA13145–01A1) from the...

...significant interactions with conspecifics do, then there may be no fitness benefits of pushing the perceptual process to be even faster or less attention demanding than it already is. Barrett et al. (2006) made a similar argument against automaticity for more leisurely social and sexual judgment tasks. This study has several limitations that should be addressed in further research. The participants were all young adult female university students in the United States, with about half being Anglo (white/Caucasian) and half being Hispanic (with various levels of genetic admixture from European and Native American populations). Results might differ for participants of different ages and sexes, or, less plausibly, for participants of different nationalities and ethnicities. Older adult females with more social experience might perhaps acquire higher automaticity in judging male attractiveness. Women at peak fertility, just before ovulation, might show higher automaticity in responding to highly attractive male faces, given their higher incentives for poaching good genes. Males might show higher automaticity in...

India

...INDIA INFO FROM ANOTHER STUDENT: WEEK 9 Discussion 1 India, a country rich in history, is a brilliant example of what Kashima (2001) defines as cultural dynamics, which is the phenomenon of cultural stability and change, in that parts of the culture are experiencing rapid change while others are staying the same, happen simultaneously.  India is a collectivist culture which is experiencing a state of juxtaposition between East and West as it starts to grow economically and globally while it fights long entrenched cultural values that are in conflict with its stated values.  It has both system oriented as well as a practice oriented culture(s) in that a third gender is allowed by law but homosexuality is illegal and female infanticide, domestic violence and Dowry Deaths still occur with high rates of frequency.  While the country has, and is supposed to be supported by, a democratic constitution that claims to promote equality, it has a history and culture that practices the opposite that still lingers today.   India, being a collectivist culture, has historically placed great emphasis on controlling one's emotions and anger in public; however, in a study done by Raval, Raval & Becker, 2012  found that of the juveniles convicted of violent crimes, the father displayed anger and hit family members.  This theme of the social non acceptance of openly displaying anger but turning a blind eye towards domestic violence can also be seen in the common terminology “Dowery Deaths”...

Male vs. Female Leaders

...What substantive differences exist between the performance of male and female leaders? What perceived differences exist between the performance of male and female leaders? What do the answers to these questions mean for females that aspire to leadership positions? Substantive Differences A fair amount of research has explored sex differences in business leadership. Although mostly survey research, a number of themes appear consistently, suggesting that there are some substantive differences between men and women with regard to leadership performance. For example, with regard to global leadership, research by Javidan et al. (2016) suggest that women demonstrate stronger leadership self-efficacy (the importance of which is iterated by Locke & Latham, 2002; Hannah et al., 2008; Lester et al., 2011; Luthans & Peterson, 2002; Paglis & Green, 2002) profiles in regard to passion for diversity, intercultural diversity and diplomacy, while men tend to show strong leadership self-efficacies regarding global business savvy, cosmopolitan outlook and interpersonal impact. Women tend to behave more ethically than do men, and also tend to be more personable (Anonymous, 2013; Stedham et al., 2007). An article by Gannon (2012) discusses research showing that women leaders are judged as more supportive and rewarding, whereas men are judged to be better at such behaviors as delegating and managing up. Other research is described in the Gannon (2012) article,* suggesting that women leaders...
