The information in this recommendation report outlines the basic concepts of internet marketing and company exposure via the internet. Seeing how our company does not rely on the internet as much as tradition marketing measures, I have included information on some of the advantages as well as the disadvantages to adopting such a marketing strategy.
This recommendation report will examine some of the opportunities the internet has to offer in the realm of marketing. The internet is an important tool, especially in today’s society. Advertisement is nothing like it used to be. Most advertisement are done digitally. With thorough planning, the internet and social media can be profitable for the company.
Although the internet seems very intimidating, it not quite as complicated as we may have thought; considering how user friendly the internet is nowadays. It’s a pleasure to share this information for company consideration in hopes that it will truly benefit this company and its growth.

With the internet growing and being used every day by millions of people around the world, our company has the ability to build and expand a brand that is known and trusted by viewers worldwide. The internet, along with its social media vehicles, will allow our company to market and build itself astronomically.
In our digital world the internet is an important tool for marketing. Without taking advantage of what the internet offers, our company will not only be overlooked, but simply not on the same playing field as others. The use of the internet and its marketing opportunities will not only market our company, but it may also generate more revenue for our company as well.
To understand some things about internet marketing, social media marketing, and website monetization, included in this company recommendation proposal is a scope of what the internet platform offers. It will cover some of the following aspects: * Basic Internet Marketing Functionality * Internet Marketing Advantages * Internet Marketing Disadvantages * Strategies
Our research has allowed us to highlight and present the simple facts about internet marketing.

Introduction

Before the Internet, companies shaped marketing and communication strategies around whatever medium they had available. Companies mostly used newspapers, radio or TV media, to broadcast their messages and advertisements. Companies now realize that the Internet is the ideal communication medium for interacting with a worldwide community. The Internet is not just for surfing, but can also be used as a range of technologies that, together, can provide an effective marketing strategy. In this recommendation proposal we will discuss successful Internet marketing techniques and strategies that are being used today by businesses and organizations around the world. This recommendation should be of great interest to our company and marketing department to expand our knowledge and understanding of effective Internet marketing strategies, as well as lessons learned from companies that have been utilizing this effective tool.
The internet gives marketing/marketers a tremendous opportunity. With the help of the internet platform, companies can now reach out to consumers all over the world with ease. But, it’s not always as great as it sounds. With this powerful tool companies can grow and increase revenue much quicker, but it can also hurt a company. The internet allows consumers to leave reviews, comments, and concerns on almost any website. These reviews can, not only help a company, but hurt them. The internet can be a powerful business tool to help companies expand and create revenue. It can be a powerful business tool to help companies expand and create revenue. The Internet can help companies grow exponentially, but also create problems for them as well.

How Internet Marketing Works

Marketing is about communicating the value of a product, service or brand to customers or consumers for the purpose of promoting or selling that product, service, or brand. The internet creates the perfect platform to accomplish this. As the illustration simply shows, the internet has a few different marketing opportunity routes. The logical thing to create first would be a reputable company website. A website that is interactive with users, but also very user friendly, allowing users to have a pleasant visit experience that proved to be informative and beneficial. After our company website is operational, we can move on to other internet marketing tools such as search engine optimization, social media optimization, email marketing, and of course, consumer reviews. Consumer reviews can be extremely beneficial, but can also be extremely harmful. Consumer reviews will be further discussed.

Since the internet is has a plethora of ways to create revenue, let check out a few. There are many strategies that can help any business with the help of the internet platform. Wikipedia defines social media as all online tools and platforms that people use to share opinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives with each other. Susan Lincoln, author of Mastering Web 2.0 explains the most important pro like this; “The social web is a place where people with common interests gather to share thoughts and comments. Importantly, social media holds increasing sway over the public opinion.” (Lincoln, 2009 pg. 9)
Let take a look at some of the ways Social Media can prove to be beneficial. Social media gives companies the opportunity to feed their advertisements to people. These advertisements can appeal to a user’s certain likings or lifestyle. These types of ads can really affect a company’s publicity and sales in a positive way. Like Susan Lincoln said in her book, these advertisements or social media ads can sway the public opinion on a company and how dependable and official their company website looks.

Figure [ 4 ] First let’s examine PPC, or pay per click. This basically is more of a way to generate user traffic to your company website or even directly to products. A budget is created with a search engine, (i.e. Google, Bing). In a PPC campaign, you pay Google however much you wish to have them list ads for your site at the top and right of the organic search listings. When someone clicks on your add, you pay the current Cost Per Click (CPC) from your budget. Once your entire budget has been depleted, Google ceases to run your ads until you replenish your fund. The goal is to be advertised to the user first, and not on the later pages of a user’s search results. This will create familiarity for users and increase traffic. (Google, 2010)
Once user traffic is generated, the company’s website will now become increasingly popular overtime, allowing more products, information, and services to be solicited. Depending on what the purpose of a company’s website is will determine what strategy to utilization when it comes to monetization.

Social Media:
On the flip side, social media users can make harsh remarks or even bash local business or any business about their service. These remarks can affect a business’s reputation.

Web Reviews:
Most websites have review sections where users can describe their experience with a certain company. These reviews can affect a company in a negative way. It’s best to always provide awesome service no matter what. With the internet the way it is now, the power is in the people’s hands.

Audience is always something to consider when dealing with internet marketing. You don't want to sell ad space to an advertiser that might put a banner ad that's inappropriate. You always want to preview their ad before you just let them put it on your site. Pop-ups can also deter users. They can be very annoying and distract users from the company’s website.

Three Successful Strategies to Webpage Monetization:

Affiliate Marketing:
Affiliate marketing is a very popular way to make money through a website. Basically, a company would sell or recommend another company’s products on your website. When a user clicks on the affiliate link and buys the product – we receive a commission. Typically the commission is usually 30% – 70% of the product or service price.

Selling Ad Space:
Selling advertising space is a simple strategy that utilizes the company’s website traffic to generate revenue. The easiest way to do it is to join a banner ad network, which will recruit advertisers, keep track of your earnings, and control banner ad placement on your site. In exchange for these services, the network will take a percentage of the advertising money generated by your ad space.

NOTE: Audience is important. Selling ad space to an advertiser that might put an advertisement that's inappropriate could deter users. It is best to preview their ad before it is displayed.

Selling Company Product / Online Store:
There are many e-commerce websites on the Internet. You can simply create a “tool” for your business – an online store.

Solutions & Recommendations

Businesses must truly provide great service to avoid harsh or negative remarks on the internet. Though they may be inevitable, a company can still benefit more from the internet and its monetization opportunities. Our company can take full advantage of the three strategies mentioned earlier. Our company offers products and services. Our company is affiliated with many other contracting agencies. Our company can utilize ad space to promote products that our companies uses as well. This looks like an easy win, win situation for our company.

Conclusion
We can see how the internet can both benefit a company and degrade a company. I strongly feel that there are more outlets and tools that can benefit a company than tools that can harm our company. The internet is a platform for today’s modern day society. It used by everyone around the world, and most people in America have to ability to access it with the smartphone with ease. The possibilities for expansion using the internet are almost endless.
