...PERFORMANCE OF TEXTILE INDUSTRY IN INDUSTRIALISATION: A STUDY WITH REFERENCE TO INDIA INTRODUCTION Prosperity of any nation is extremely difficult without industrial development – is a well established truth for all the economies – developing or developed. Economic development and industrialization have became so closely integrated with each other that progress of an economy is now accessed from the success it has achieved in transformation from agricultural set up into a industrial set up. Through industrialization a situation is created whereby many industries are set up rapidly and ultimately backward areas are converted into economically developed areas and backward economies into developed economies. Industrialization, infact is a composite term which involves a number of structural changes such as changes in the production techniques, factor intensities, industrial employment and output. Industrialization is not only a way to increase output or national income but is a means of introducing modern technology and changing ways of life and finally the structure of the economy because of its self-reinforcing quality. But the all above cannot be executed without a well planned industrial policy. The industrial polity provides direction to the pace of industrialization and industrial development. Hence, to industrialize the country, India too, framed industrial policy which was amended, modified and reoriented several times. The First Industrial Policy was framed in 1948...

...ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to attempt to understand to what degree accounting information can serve as a valid predictor of future financial performance. It is understood and often disputed that predicting financial performance beyond a time horizon of four years, using accounting analysis is not as reliable as initially determined. Based on both academic research studies and reviews alongside nonacademic reviews, it seems plausible to a certain comfortable level that it is possible to incorporate targeted and focused accounting information and ratios in conjunction with additional industry/market based variables within statistical models to be successful in predicting future performance beyond the short run. Financial ratios, together with other analyses, are widely used as critical indicators in evaluating a firm’s performance. One question constantly arises, which financial ratios are informative among the hundred ratios available? Material below will identify and support particular ratios of focus. Research also suggests that in order to accurately forecast future financial performance, accounting information needs to work alongside other variables (i.e. firm size, economic trends, and industry specific ratios). Beyond the microeconomics of the company, analysis should also consider relevant macroeconomics that can have a direct correlation on a firm’s success. Based on all findings included, there has been no distinct criticism of using accounting information...

...Final Project Part One: Impact of Global Financial Crisis on Air Transport in the U.S Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University MBAA 522 – Business Research Methods For: Dr. Barry Bauer March 15, 2015 Introduction This research paper examines the origins of the 2008/2009 world financial crisis and the impact that the crisis had on air transport in the United States of America. Although the crisis originated in the economies of North America and Europe, its effects were global with particular serious implications for economies of the developing countries including my country, Zambia. The maximum blame of the crisis is pointed at the money lenders who created such problems as it is believed that it was the lenders in the developed nations who lent funds to people with poor credit and a high risk of default. Therefore, in an effort to address the crisis, the American Federal Reserve flooded the markets with increasing capital liquidity in order not only to lower interest rates but to also broadly depress risk premiums as investors sought riskier opportunities to bolster their investment returns (Craig, 2013). As we all know that aviation is one of the most important pillars of the global economy as it provides millions of jobs globally and contributes heavily in the global gross domestic products of a number of countries. To this effect, the aviation sector which is one of the fastest growing industries had to face negative growth rate while some aviation companies were...

Bibliography Introduction Bangladesh is a developing country, but the national calamity and political unrest sluggish the industrial growth as well as economic growth of the country. Inspite of all these hindrance the growth of leasing companies is a significant indication of our bright prospects. Nagaraja, PhD Associate Professor Department of Economics, Sri Venkateswara University College of Arts, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati (India) Accepted 30 January 2015, Available online 14 March 2015, Vol.4, No.1 (March 2015) Abstract There is ample empirical evidence to vindicate the relationship between the performance of insurance industry and economic development. In spite of it, there is a dearth of empirical research in developing countries and analytical studies are limited in number, particularly in developing countries like India, where the insurance penetration and density are very low compared with international levels. In India, the growth rate of number of new policies issued and the insurance premium are experiencing a negative trend for the last three years. Reasons and contributing factors for this state of affairs is highly essential. The present paper primarily deals with these aspects of insurance industry and a comparative analysis of both private and public sectors of life and non-life insurance industry. ...The sector was characterized by small sized banks with high overheads; low capital base averaging less than $10million; heavy reliance on government patronage and loss making. Nigeria’s banking sector was still characterized by a high degree of fragmentation and low levels of financial intermediation up until 2004. In the light of the foregoing, banks are compelled by the Central Bank of Nigeria to raise their capital base from N2 billion to 25 billion on or before 31st December, 2005. Most banks resorted to mergers and acquisition as a survival strategy, which saw a reduction in the number of banks from 89 to 25. This study contributes to the concept of bank recapitalization by critically examining the impact of bank consolidation on the performance of banks using a sample of randomly selected Nigerian banks. It is the intention of the researcher to give more validity to empirical evidence that have been obtained by previous researchers on the subject matter. Relevance of the study The earliest set of studies evaluates the effects of bank consolidation through mergers and acquisitions comparing pre- and post- merger performance by measuring performance using either accounting or productive efficiency indicators. The results from both indicators have varied and at sometimes been contradictory. This can be explained by performance-influencing variables like size, brand name, diversification and cost reduction, there is still no reconciliation between these indicators. I intend...
