Florida Department and Family Services and the Florida Department of Health
The Florida Department of Family Services meets the needs of Floridians in areas of Child welfare, adult protective services, childcare regulation, domestic violence, economic self-sufficiency, homelessness, public benefits, refugee services, substance abuse, and mental health. They also help assist in adoption services for children, foster care, protection agencies, children legal services, and community resources. The demographics for help are mainly anyone who is in assistance in a way that DCF can help. They strive to provide help to the vulnerable, and create a strong and economical self-sufficient family. The also assist families in need of recovery and resiliency.
Florida Department of Health is an organization to help protect and improve the lives of all those in Florida through state and community efforts. Florida Health serves Children services from school screening, infant health, WIC; healthy kids- Florida kids health insurance- free immunizations, and many other safety resources regarding children in Florida. They also deal with birth and death certificates, family planning, women’s health, pregnancy planning, minority health, people with disabilities and emergency response.
The differences between DCF and Florida Department of Health is that the Florida Department of Health deals with a much wider range of issues, and resources to help anyone with questions or needs in the state of Florida. They provide some form of resource or contact for mainly any issues in Florida that need to be handled. The Department of Children and Families is a great organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. They are there to maintain a positive quality of life, and to provide resources for those who are unable to support their children.
I believe that they are very successful in meeting the needs of majority of the residents of Florida. Between both agencies, I think that they have covered a vast area of needs with resources, community organizations, and ways to promote healthy living within the state of Florida. The challenges that these organizations face is the amount of people that they have to provide help for. They have limited financial means, but a large amount of people in the state of Florida who need their services. There are far less available resources for the amount of people in the state, which can result in people choosing to not contact them, or to feel neglected because they have not received the help they feel they need. They have a strict protocol that needs to be followed so they can provide the help where it is needed.
