...“The Tyger” by William Blake is a lyric poem that depicts the nature of the creator and his creations. The poem is more about the creator of the tyger than it is about the tyger. In contemplating the terrible ferocity and awe-inspiring symmetry of the tyger, the speaker is at a loss to explain how the same God who made the meek, innocent lamb could create a horrifying creature such as the tyger. This essay will provide a detailed analysis of William Blake’s “The Tyger” paying particular attention, firstly to the extended metaphor in stanza’s 2, 3 and 4, secondly, to the poetic significance of repetition, in particular to the phrase “fearful symmetry”, thirdly, to the role that the rhythm and metre play in creating an urgent need to address the succession of the questions and lastly, the evocation of the sublime emotion of terror in Blake’s depiction of the Tyger. Firstly, the extended metaphor in stanza’s 2, 3 and 4, is comparing the creator and his creation of the Tyger to a blacksmith and his creations. A blacksmith that makes use of tools, such as the “Hammer,” “chain,” ”furnace,” and “anvil” in creating objects out of hot metal. The blacksmith represents a conventional image of artistic creation; here Blake applies it to the divine creation of the natural world. This is evident in L5:”In what distant deeps or skies”, refers to an otherworldly (“distant”) place, perhaps a kind of hell (“deeps”) or Heaven (“skies”). The “distant deeps or skies” bring to mind the concept...

...his boss Sarah Bennett. While Josh is a marketing associate with Rising Entertainment, Sarah is the marketing Chief of the movie division. The main issue is that there is a somewhat lack of mutual understanding between the two characters which may be crudely attributed to the generation gap between the duo. Rising Entertainment, one of the top three multimedia production and distribution houses in the world, was in process of releasing the fourth instalment (Fire Force Five-Ignition) of the extremely successful Fire Force Five movie series. The previous three movies released over the past 10 years had grossed more than $2.4 billion. Sarah, who was responsible for the distribution and marketing plan for the Triple-F series was, therefore, pretty obviously extremely concerned and careful about getting the same done in the best possible manner. She had done perhaps done even more than what constituted her responsibility including: * Leveraging her relationship with the reporters of various magazines, which she had forged over the years, to get behind-the-scenes and making-of feature articles placed in the magazines. * Overseeing the high-impact trailer that was to be reviewed in a meeting in which she was to make a presentation to the CEO Sam Smithstone. * Had even been coordinating with Rising Entertainment’s publicity department to get most of the Triple-F quintet booked on the morning and late-night talk shows. The success of the latest Triple-F series (Ignition)...

...Imagery in Hamlet Hamlet is one of the most widely read works of literature. It's an exploration of the multifaceted world of adolescence. This world is full of confusion, thoughtfulness, intimacy, and action. It's a study in how a young person emerging into adulthood attempts to cope. In Hamlet, Shakespeare allows his hero to dream and to think through his dreams (Williams). Hamlet is a revenge tragedy and by the end, almost every character has died in some tragic or gruesome way. In this play, Shakespeare makes use of imagery, allegory, metaphor, and symbolism. In particular, the symbols of the ghost, the garden, and flowers, along with imagery and metaphors for madness are used to convey specific ideas which provide depth and complexity to this story. The ghost is a pivotal symbol and appears throughout Hamlet. Is the ghost Hamlet's father or is it Hamlet himself? Is the ghost real or is it part of Hamlet's imagination? The ghost claims he is Hamlet's father. He says he was murdered by Claudius, Hamlet's Uncle who is now wed to Hamlet's mother and who is also sitting on the throne. He also says his sins must be wiped clean before he can ascend to heaven. His soul is "doomed" to endure "sulph'rous and tormenting flames" until the "foul crimes done in [his] days of nature / Are burnt and purged away" (1.5.6; 17-18). The ghost requires revenge and this is an odd request given the religious context, yet this is what sets the revenge plot in motion. Father's Ghost. My hour...

...Review: Coyle, Daniel. "The Sweet Spot" The Talent Code. Greatness Isn’t Born. It’s Grown. Here’s How. New York: Bantam, 2009. 11-29. What does it mean to be successful? This is one of the many questions that concern most people today. Over the years, there have been different kinds of answers to this question anddifferent roads have been suggested by different kinds of people. Related to the dilemma of whatsuccess means is the question of how to achieve it and the role talent plays in achieving it. Daniel Coyle’s book “The Talent Code” is one of many approaches to the resolution of this problem. In his book, Coyle studies talent - what it is, the reason for it and its role in success. He visitsnine places that he considers talent hot-beds so as to observe talented people. He calls these places “the chicken - wire Havards” because they produce huge amounts of talents despite being small andhumble (p. 11).He begins with the definition of talent a s “the possession of repeatable skills that don’t dependon physical size” (p. 11, footnote). The objective of the first chapter is to prove to its readers thatdeep-practicing is the way skills are gained and show how this process contributed to the success of those who were trained through it. One of the concepts involved in this process is the sweet spot, andit is defined by Robert Bjork as the “optimal gap between what you know and what you’re trying todo.” (p. 19). “Deep practice” is the art of increasing learning...

...MGMT 367: Business Law II Week 8 Discussion Assignment - 2 Parts Part 1 Chapter 44 covers real property law, but to fully appreciate the limitations to your real property rights, you need to understand the 5th Amendment Takings Clause (see pp. 114-118). The textbook provides excerpts from the Kelo v. City of New London opinion, but to fully appreciate this landmark case, I’ve provided a separate link to the Court’s opinion and a video that explains the case and its ultimate outcome. After reading and viewing the video, share with the class your viewpoint on whether eminent domain be used for “economic development” and whether you agree with the majority or dissenting opinions. I think it should be on a case –by- case basis. In the video we found out after Suzette’s years of struggle she finally lost her case, but the intended development never was completed. People were forced out for no reason. Using eminent domain the government can take from the poor and give to the rich. I understand that the Takings Clause is supposed to ensure that just compensation is paid. What is just if you have improved the land and held it for a lifetime? I would not want to be put out and have to start over for what a government entity calls just compensation. I think there are plenty of places that can benefit from “economic development” but “eminent domain” should be the last resort, due to this I agree more with the dissenting opinions in this case. When roads or bridges are needed...

ANSWER I was overwhelmed while doing the internet news search to find an example of business that has abused its power. The search came up with so many examples that it made me realize that probably all the business abuse their position in some or the other way. There were many example to choose from but I chose “Corporate accounting scandal at Satyam “, which is also infamously called as India’s Enron. The reason why I selected this particular company is that I had my cousin brothers and sisters working for this company and this scandal affected our families in a big way. ...Running Head: CASE ANALYSIS Case Analysis of Theresa Jimmie Cross Glenda J. Chandler Northcentral University Case History Theresa Cross was born in Sacramento, California on March 12, 1946. She was the youngest child in her family. Bill and Clara Tapp are from their mother’s previous marriage. Rosemary and Theresa were the daughters of Jim and Swannie Cross. Both Jim and Swannie gave preference to boys and Jim was rather disappointed that he only had daughters. Jim wanted a son to carry on his name. He charged Clara $60.00 a month for room and board in their home. Clara was also made to care for her two younger half-sisters while their mother worked. “Sometimes she was forced to stay home from school for weeks at a time” (McDougal, 1995, p. 14). Theresa was her mother’s favorite and Theresa fought Rosemary for the attention of their mother. Swannie was a strict mother and made her daughters do all the housekeeping. She never allowed her daughters to leave their own yard. Swannie let her son do pretty much whatever he wanted. She often made excuses for Bill when he was caught stealing. He did not see this as a second chance, but as permission to continue. He eventually ended up divorced and in prison for the remainder of his life. The preference to boys was apparent in this family due to the fact that the oldest daughter, Clara, never received a legal name until she was 20. She demanded that her mother sign the paperwork to grant her a full name on her birth certificate...

...Racism is a term that is often used to describe a variety of social, culture and economic problems, but has, unfortunately, acquired “so many contradictory meanings that it takes on the aura of a myth,” it has become increasingly difficult to define . Although the term wasn’t officially featured in the Larousse Dictionary until 1932, racism had been a dark cloud hanging over the global horizon for centuries (de Benoist, 1999). Whenever there are people of different cultural and social characteristics introduced into the mix, a recipe for racism and the hostilities it generates is created. Because racism defies a singular definition but is usually represented by the categorizing of people according to certain criteria, it can perhaps best be understood by discussing the issue itself in terms of such categories as the reasons for racism, its causes, why it continues, and how its meaning is ever-changing. It is widely accepted by sociologists that racism is essentially an ideology or belief system with its foundation cemented by three basic ideas. First, there is the fact that human beings can be divided naturally into different physical types (Vorster, 2002). For example, Africans are ‘typed’ by their dark skin color and by their curly hair; Asians are known for their ‘yellowish’ skin color, black hair and slanted eyes, etc. Often, solely on the basis of these physical traits, assumptions are automatically made that become “intrinsically related to their culture...
