My goal
My goal is to exercise at least three times a week. The chosen form of exercise must increase my heart rate significantly.

My current behaviour
I walk at least thirty minutes a day because I walk to school. However, I lack regular intensive exercise.

Why I want to change
I have exercised regularly in the past. I am aware of the benefits, such as feeling more energetic and being able to relieve stress. At the moment, because I am in a new living environment with a different schedule, I haven't been able to exercise regularly. Exercise helps me feel more productive and I would like to see it part of my routine.

How I plan to change my behaviour
My school timetable is different each week. This means I will have to look at my schedule each week and plan different time slots suitable for exercise. I will …show more content…
Given that I live up on the hills it takes me around thirty minutes to commute one way. This will be a facilitating factor to my fatigue, along with the school time table in general.

How I plan to get over difficulties

I will use some stimuli to help change my behaviour. One stimulus will be a phone alarm set to remind me when to exercise. Another will be seeing my fitness wear set out the day before. This is an example of Theory of Planned Behaviour (Fishbein & Azjen, 1975). These stimuli will help adjust my attitude towards exercise and will remind me of my intention to change my behaviour.

The Health Belief Model (Rosenstock, 1974) shows that if there is a belief that certain threat exists, coupled with a belief that change will relieve this threat, a behaviour change will result. To use my behaviour change as an example, with no exercise there is the threat that my effort to strengthen muscle over the twelve weeks will go to waste. I have the belief that with regular exercise I will be able to maintain my fitness and muscle tone. Therefore, I believe that a behavioural change will take
