For my paper, I read Planning to “Prevent Natural Hazards from becoming Natural Disasters” an article by Geoff Boughton. The article begins by listing the types of natural hazards that Australia experiences regularly including tropical cyclones, flooding, earthquakes, bush fires, soil erosion, and blizzards. The article then moves on to illustrate the concepts or risk; event, asset, and circumstances. Geoff states that in order for there to be damage and event must take place first because there is no tornado damage without a tornado.
