...When I first read the description for the documentary “Exit through the gift shop” I thought I was going to watch a film about street art. The film opened up with scenes of street artists at work all over the world, next Banksy appears in the shadows with his voice distorted. Banksy is one of the most famous street artists in the world, yet no one knows what he looks like. He doesn’t let anyone record or photograph him so that he can remain totally anonymous. By the end, however, I wasn’t sure if what I had just watched was real or another one of Banksy’s pranks. The film starts out telling the story of Thierry Guetta, an obsessive-compulsive, former shop owner who has a passion for documenting his everyday life. Guetta takes a trip back to France and meets up with his street artist cousin Space Invader and becomes very interested in street art. Through the networking of his cousin, he meets other street artists and starts filming them and following them wherever they go. Guetta eventually meets Banksy and Banksy agrees to let Guetta film him. Guetta takes thousands of hours of tape before anyone realizes that hes not actually making a film. They urge him to make a film, and what he produced was 90 minutes of unwatchable clips that were edited together as if someone was channel surfing. Banksy urged Guetta to work on an art exhibit so that he could take the tapes and try to make a watchable film out of it. Guetta’s resulting exhibition was not what I would call art...

...The Poe Ranch Gift Shop 1.) I feel the gift shop should offer items that are distinctive to the area, such as trinkets painted like the scenery, fake cattle’s skulls, pictures of the ranch and scenery distinctive to Wyoming. They could also do magnets, glasses, potter, decorative items, clothing and tableware as Heather wants to. I feel they should also have some basic essentials there, in case visitors forget to bring something, then they do not have to drive into town. I would put these items in the gift shop as that way the customer is able to relate the souvenir to the trip and it seems like they would want to keep better quality items in the gift shop, as it seems like it may be higher income people coming to the ranch, and they may have more money to spend. Bottom line keeps items in the gift shop that appeal to customer and the experience at the ranch. The retail mix may have to changed to adapt to the customer needs and the owners will need to watch the people’s wants and needs. 3.) I feel the idea of Charles using the Poe Ranch Lodge as an extension of the gift shop, sound like an innovative idea. Allowing people to be able to purchase the items will make the trip very personal to them and hopefully increase the profit for the ranch and gift shop. I would imagine they may be able to find a builder to make the products so they are available to be replaced at the ranch when/if they are bought. For some people going to a place like this a dream and to bring...

...T h e G i f t o f t h e M a g i p The Gift of the Magi That was all. She had put it aside, one cent and then another and then another, in her careful buying of meat and other food. Della counted it three times. One dollar and eighty-seven cents. And the next day would be Christmas. There was nothing to do but fall on the bed and cry. So Della did it. While the lady of the home is slowly growing quieter, we can look at the home. Furnished rooms at a cost of $8 a week. There is little more to say about it. In the hall below was a letter-box too small to hold a letter. There was an electric bell, but it could not make a sound. Also there was a name beside the door: “Mr. James Dillingham Young.” O NE DOLLAR AND EIGHTY-SEVEN CENTS. 1 O . H e n r y When the name was placed there, Mr. James Dillingham Young was being paid $30 a week. Now, when he was being paid only $20 a week, the name seemed too long and important. It should perhaps have been “Mr. James D. Young.” But when Mr. James Dillingham Young entered the furnished rooms, his name became very short indeed. Mrs. James Dillingham Young put her arms warmly about him and called him “Jim.” You have already met her. She is Della. Della finished her crying and cleaned the marks of it from her face. She stood by the window and looked out with no interest. Tomorrow would be Christmas Day, and she had only $1.87 with which to buy Jim a gift. She had put aside as much as she could for months, with this...

Della's beautiful, brown, knee-length hair is one of the two great prized possessions of the poor couple. Her hair was gorgeous and she loved it. The other is Jim's gold watch that was passed down from his grandfather and father. Jim also loved his watch. The story opens with Della counting one dollar and eighty seven cents. It is one day before Christmas and she wants to buy her husband Jim a gift. She cries hysterically because there was not enough money to buy a gift. ...there with some of the kids is like celebrating Christmas emphasizing the joy of loving and giving. The Christmas is in my heart; the nursing of those little kids, the playing with them, and the giving of gifts to them are just some of the affirmation of the true spirit of Christmas I felt while doing the service. Second, all that we have is indeed a great gift from our Loving Father. Through this activity, I’ve come to realized how lucky we are to have our loving parents with us in our lives. The kids made me more love my parents and appreciate every single thing they’re doing for us, their children. Third, these kids are not sinister instead they are so lucky. They are lucky for they have been saved from experiencing a more hurtful one and are now being taken cared of those people who are all so warm and caring. They are lucky for they have bunch of sisters and brothers who will heed them every time they needed them the most and unlike their parents, will never leave their side. Fourth, the true essence of love. Even if we just had a short time bonding with them, I had learned the true essence of love. That you can give your love even to those who you just met and make friends with. And that love is the best thing you can give to someone unconditionally. It is the greatest gift you can share with especially to those who is in need of it. Lastly, I’ve learned how intelligent...

...Allan Ritch CHMN 201-D01 LUO March 31, 2014 Spiritual Gifts Paper PART ONE: What are your top two spiritual gifts? Do you agree with the results? Why or why not? My two dominate spiritual gifts as determined by taking the “Spiritual Gifts Analysis” on www.churchgrowth.org are (1) Administration and (2) Exhortation. I completely agree with this assessment. Having been in the administration field most of my adult life, in one capacity or another, I see that this gift has had an influence upon me. I am definitely a take-charge type of person when it comes to something that I am enthusiastic and passionate. The analyses pointed out that people with this gift tend to count on others to take care of the small details and are gifted delegator. I am definitely that type of person in most situations. I do not like to micro-manage others or be micro-managed. I tend to take on many tasks myself just so I can control the outcome and results. I tend to lack patience at times when a detailed explanation is required and expect that others already know how and what the goals are. The gift exhortation is a direct complement to administration. While administration directs and organizes, exhortation teaches, counsels, and encourages. I have not always seen this gift within my character, although as I look back I can see that this gift has been in the development stage for quite some time. The analysis advises against interrupting people and allowing pride to be the primary motivator...
