...The first tip that I will be going into some detail and explain a little about it would be to “Tune in”. To “Tune in” is to focus your attention on the person giving you the presentation before they begin. I chose this tip because it only makes sense to start focusing your attention well before the presenter starts the lecture. That is something that I would never have done or even thought about doing before and I think will benefit me better in future presentations that I might have to sit thru. In an academic environment, this way of listening should help me greatly understand what the instructors are trying to get across when they are lecturing me. This next tip I have come across many time but don’t end up trying but will now is “Staying active by asking mental questions”. Asking questions internally will keep my attention focused. This tip is not new to me but the only difference this time from other times is I wasn’t in school and now can really try to use it. That is one of my problems is that my mind will start to drift away and end up missing parts of a lecture. I now see critical thinking as doing what I was originally doing with some additions. Not only challenging what I hear but seeing it from all angles and prospective. My understanding of critical thinking has broadened to include others prospective and POV and well as looking at all sides of an issue. The author has a PhD in creative writing. The tone of the resource was informative, relaxed, and helpful. In this advertisement a tongue is depicted spicing up its life by participating in S & M. The S & M bondage illustrates the suffering of the tongue while simultaneously relishing the moment. I chose this advertisement because it is funny, unique, daring, attention-grabbing, and over exaggerated. I was drawn to the vibrant colors, unique illustration, and bold statement. Analysis The image that stood out the most is the bonded tongue with the bright yellow brick surrounding it. This advertisement is very extreme and over the top with sexual innuendos, which is why I believe this advertisement is directed toward a more mature audience, probably between the ages of eighteen and forty years old. It is a continuation of a commercial run last year and depicts a small puppy that lives on a farm with his horse best friend. The puppy is young and curious, he wanders off into a truck, the door behind him closes and he is taken into the city. He is cold in the rain and lost. He wanders through the woods as his owner is searching high and wide for him. As the night gets darker and scarier, the puppy gets closer to home however he is surrounded by wolves. Unbeknownst to him, his best buddy, the horse has escaped the barn and is coming to his rescue with friends. The pup starts barking at the wolves but he is tiny. The horses arrive just in time to save him and he is reunited with his family. At the end of the commercial there is the Budweiser logo and the hashtag “ #bestbuds”. Every time I watch this ad I cry. It is just so cute, and as a dog owner pulls at my heart strings. As a human, it makes me connect with the puppy and his fear of being lost and lonely and his search for home.
