Guidelines to final case report
Students will be organized in groups of 4-5 persons to work on the final case report.
Teams will be assigned to identify, analyze, discuss, report on, critique certain designated case and find solutions to recommend to the companies. Students should focus on the central management issues in each case and the alternative strategies for the firm to consider in solving the problems at hand.
The final case report consists in 5 pages that include the case analysis and a solution to the problem presented in the case.
The report should provide the following:
• A brief summary of the relevant facts necessary to understand the case. Research on the web the company's actual situation and explain how it relates to your previous analysis.
• Introduction; Include critical background, financial, economic, political and historical information about the situation. The introduction also should identify central issues.
• Strategic Statements: Should reflect an understanding of the critical issues of the case; integrate the material covered in class and present concise and well reasoned analysis of the information. Remember that an intelligent analysis calls for the recognition and identification of assumptions.
• Possible Solutions and evaluation of alternatives: The team description and evaluation of possible solutions or courses of action the company could take. Questions like the next ones should be responded: What is important about this decision? Do we have valid arguments? What are the possible implications for each alternative or solution?
• Solution: The final solution(s) and recommendation for implementation must be defined.
• Conclusion: The conclusion ties up all main ideas of the report. Concurring / Dissenting opinions might be

A short definition of GAAS is the set of systematic guidelines used by auditors when conducting audits on companies' finances, ensuring the accuracy, consistency and verifiability of auditors' actions and reports (Investopedia).
