Often, people do not realize their specific rights when it comes to their health care information. Concerns about privacy may prevent one to seek medical help. Many are not aware of their rights as a patient. There are not aware that they are States and Federal laws to protect them. For example, The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act rules for privacy and security. HIPAA protects the confidentiality of a person’s identifiable health information. This misunderstanding of the law often effect, the patients being fully engaged in their health.

To help bring awareness I would participate in social community’s events to help promote understanding of the HIPAA public law by conducting seminars to help people gain information
