...The Decreasing of Politeness in East Java Deal with Gender and Age Syukur Insani Study Program of English Education and literature Faculty Studies of Culture Universitas Brawijaya As time goes by, people of Java that used to be judged as friendly and kind people, lose their politeness and good attitude slowly but surely. Nowadays fact, not all of them are friendly and kind people, many of them jokes in a very impolite way, they usually insult one's physical. This is the problem of the politeness degradation and this problem is getting worse. It is ironic, so many entertainers become popular or much more popular because they do rude and impolite jokes and the targets of the entertainers are young people that later will become the model of the next young people. Many young people who are still labile or unstable and usually still do not know how to behave but they love to watch television very much become love at joking in this way very much because it has become one of the trends of young people in their daily. ...Business Technology – How has it improved or not improved business needs Alicia N.Swann University of Phoenix TEC/401 – Human Factors in Technology Tynia Landry September 12, 2011 Abstract This research paper will discuss how the ever changing technology has or has not helped out the business needs within my company. The discussion will be on the computers, to printers, to ordering supplies, and even how employees sign in and out for payroll purposes. Business Technology – How has it improved or not improved business needs Computers The technology division at my place of employment is currently looking at ways to replace our current computers with energy efficient computers. In the past employees were asked to shut the computers down completely, however, that didn’t work for numerous reasons. The idea was brought up to replace our existing computers with energy efficient computers but still the computer must perform with high performance as the computers we currently have. As an administrative assistant it is sort of a benefit because assistants are the first line of employees who receive the newest or latest upgrades, however, it can also be a downfall. Many times with the new software it simply does not meet county expectations. When the expectations do not meet the standards it often times holds up the administrative work progress. This is due to the removal of the software that was installed, or the software didn’t work correctly, some computers we...

...Nicolas ROLLAND Not reporting on observed unethical behaviour is morally wrong. Not using the company's established whistle-blowing procedure to report on sexist/racist/personalized jokes by managers, non-compliant financial or business activities... is wrong. First of all, we all agreed on the fact that in this kind of situations, it is crucial to proceed with caution. Indeed, if everybody in the company learns about an unethical behaviour, it can weaken the working atmosphere in the company as well as the relationships between all the employees. For that reason, the first reaction to have is to communicate directly to the person accused and not to the other employees, in order to keep positive working conditions in the firm. Moreover, denouncing unethical behaviour can be seen as a sign of distrust towards all the colleagues and may weaken your position in the firm. Here the issue is twofold because two behaviours can explain a bad joke: either the person is light-hearted which can be excused, or it’s a real discriminatory behaviour. In this second case, the person has the duty to report this conduct to the administration and the firm has the duty to impose disciplinary measures on this person. To me, there’s a reason why codes of ethics are being increasingly adopted in companies worldwide, that’s why in many situations, denouncing unethical behaviours is legitimate and imposing disciplinary sanctions is a logical consequence for unethical behaviours. Indeed,...

...A primary group is typically a smaller group with very close and personal relationships. While a secondary group far less personal and usually has a function or goal that was in mind while the group was created. Primary groups build on human’s basic need of being social and accepted. This can come from family or even cliques at school. I chose family and military as my primary groups that I have and am a part of that I will analyze my role in these group situations. The secondary groups I chose are the group that was created the first day of this class and an online gaming community. The role I take on within my family can vary depending on each individual and situation. I would say that I have taken on each group task role, group building maintenance role and individual role at least once at some point. I try to stay in a role that is positive such as standard setter. While in a family many roles are filled but while in the military usually there are few roles being filled. The roles I filled within my time in the Army were still many but not as many as family. The usual roles being fulfilled for anyone is as a follower when in your first few years of military. Later one can become an orienter and coordinator. As a secondary group a gaming community is very informal. The people within the community though are there for one reason and that is to play games. My role usually within the gaming community coordinator and standard setter. In the group that was made within...

...1.In the Us, and other democracies, it is typical for people to joke about different political issues, disagreements that they may have with another person. They may poke fun at friends and family, or themselves (by using disparagement humor) as well. In the Us, and other democracies, it is typical to use humor as a stress reliever and as an ice breaker to meet new people. In autocratic regimes, like Egypt, citizens tend to joke about political issues also.Egyptian citizens also use jokes as a form of tension relief. However, it does not appear that Egyptian citizens joke about people they like or about themselves. 2 .When citizens in Egypt joked about Mubarak through his regime, they did so to relieve tension. Some Egyptian citizens may have used jokes to show that they were not afraid of Mubarak, and by telling these jokes, they were showing that they (Egyptian citizens), were not afraid to make it known that they did not approve of Mubarak’s regime. 3. Disadvantages of using these types of jokes about Mubarak include the possibility of losing friends. If one Egyptian citizen was against Mubarak's regime, and joked about it to another friend who thought Mubarak was a wonderful person, there could be a problem. Also a second disadvantage could be the fact that they could be killed for what they believe in. 4.Jokes that were told about Mubarak portrayed him to be a violent individual (which he was). Also the jokes told presented Mubarak to be...

...EVERYONE HAS TWO CHOICES—EVOLVE OR DIE. It’s that simple, and that maxim holds true for every species. Either you can change with the tides or get swept away in their wake. Either you can grow or you can stagnate. Either you can stand out or simply be another face in the crowd. With their third album, American Capitalist [Prospect Park], Five Finger Death Punch—Ivan Moody [Vocals], Zoltan Bathory [Guitar], Jason Hook [Guitar], Jeremy Spencer [Drums], and Chris Kael [Bass]—morph into the melodic heavy metal machine that they’ve been moving towards since their 2007 debut, The Way of the Fist. Not only is their sound bigger; it’s better. Not only has the music become more intricate; it’s become more infectious. Not only are they more direct; they’re more dangerous. AMERICAN CAPITALIST Evolution gave birth to American Capitalist. Since their formation in 2006, Five Finger Death Punch continue to progress in the face of all odds and opposition. Darwin himself would be impressed at their list of accolades. The Way of The Fist and 2009′s War is the Answer have both surpassed Gold status. Those two albums have spawned seven consecutive top ten singles at Active Rock Radio with “Bad Company” peaking at #1 and “Far From Home” hitting #2. Other tracks have appeared on the hit game Splatterhouse and NBC’s Criminal Minds, with a brand new track set to appear on Madden 2012. The group has graced the cover of Revolver, Metal Hammer, and numerous other tastemaker publications as well as...
