...Again By Burr Steers In this essay, I am going to analysis a moving image text through the film techniques and media theories I have learnt in this term. The film is called “17 again”, which is directed by Burr Steers and written by Jason Filardi. This movie is took place in USA and released in 10 April 2009. The budget of this movie is $20000000 US and the final gross is $64149837 US which is a great success. This story is taking about the main character-Mike O’Donnell ( Zac Efron) whose life didn't quite turn out how he wanted it to and wishes he could go back to high school and change it. He wakes up one day and is seventeen again and gets the chance to rewrite his life. The genre of this film is comedy romance, which is a hybrid genre as I can find lots of signs and conventions in the movie. For examples, the kissing scenes and some silly reactions of the characters can be found in the movie. What’s more, the lighting in this film is high-key lighting which connotes the meaning of happiness and serenity. Moreover, the mode of address in this film is indirect to the audience which was used the third person angle to encode the meaning to the audience. On the other hand, I choose this movie because of few reasons. Firstly, I love the main character- Zac Efron very much. He has acted in many teenage romance films before, for instance, High School Musical 1, 2 and3. After I watched the High School Musical, I admire his out-looking and his acting skills. Therefore...

...My study habits ever since high school have been subpar at best. Ever since joining the Navy, it has been hard for me to accept anything I do to be below standard. I need to create and implement a plan to improve my ability to study effectively. I plan to make a time table so I can visually map out and organize where my time is spent. I have yet to find an adequate place where I can study the way I would like to. Living on base, the places to study are very limited and to find a place with little to no distractions can be extremely difficult. I will have to create an area in my room. When its time for me to study I will unplug all my electronics and place the cords in my closet to eliminate distractions around me. It will take a lot of self-control to not just plug them back in. As far as my reading habits go, there is little that needs to be done. My comprehension level is pretty good but I mostly have trouble with the retention of important information. I plan to start reading the material four to five times a night. I will read one chapter then go back and read it again and again until I feel confident that I know and understand the information. I struggle with distractions that constantly surround me. Whether it be my television, my music or even the jets flying right over the barracks. There is nothing I can do about the jets but I have already mentioned my plan for the electronics. I will need a lot of self discipline to accomplish my plan but my level of motivation and...

Traditionally, the accounting process involves record keeping recording, classifying, reporting, and interpreting economic events. My interest in business came from my family. There a lot of responsibility and application of high moral and ethical standards. First, while I was in high school, I focus on classes involving math and business. I was doing well in these courses gives me an indication of whether accounting is the right career for me.

...Achilles gets his head flushed in a toilet basically every day). Helen tries to be late for school so she won’t run into her bullies. One day this supper cool girl Glenda magically offers them a way out of their bulling life, they jump at the chance. Glenda’s solution is to turn them into the exact people they are scared of. This story was set in a high school in the present day. I would design the stage as a high school and a bathroom at the school to show when Achilles got flushed in the toilet. Id make the bathroom blue because it represents sadness and fear. I would make the high school scene white and dark red to show pain and sorrow. There are 2 social classes popular and not popular. This set tells you that they go to high school some enjoy it but some don’t The main people on stage are Helen, Achilles, and Glenda. .This acing style is dramatic and comedic. I think their thoughts were sad and scared because every day they would get bullied and wouldn’t know how to stand up for themselves. The characters costumes are just normal everyday clothes for school. Glinda would wear dresses and other girly things, she wears “popular” clothes, the new styles and fads. Helen would be wearing more “dorky” clothes like plaid and sneakers, no makeup or jewelry. The costumes show that some people are popular and some aren’t. They wear casual clothes which shows that they are young and in school. It shows their personality because Glinda is girly and popular and she wears girly clothes...

...Anthro 30 1. Norms are the expected behavior in a given situation within a group or an entire culture. As a high school principal, in the workplace - respect for the supervisor, proper attire as explained in the student handbook, using acceptable (non offensive) language, not approaching other schoolmates in a suggestive manner, not using obscene gestures and coming to school to fulfill the expectations of your subject teachers and respect the teachers by saying “goodmorning or good afternoon” not just only the teachers but also other faculties and staff in the insitution. Because school is just the "workplace" for children and teens. They are meeting expectations as to proper behavior towards your professors or teachers, adhering to the dress code of the institution, conducting your behavior in such a way you will not be offensive to others, refrain from approaching others in an aggressive manner, and completing your assignments in a timely manner. They are the values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that we live by. 2. These norms might differ from those appropriate for college students of course some norms are not familiar to college students therefore by adapting a new one and to become aware of it, That students aren’t perfect, that they are awkward and anxious and going to make mistakes, that they just need to try again, and that a small thing like saying hello to someone before class can make all the difference in their college experience unlike in highschool saying...

...noticed that only my close friends ever found me fun and interesting, and that was only because we shared common interests (although our bonds were strengthened at a personal level later on). To others, I was just the quiet, weird smart kid with a snarky sense of humor, and up close and personal, to them, I was a boring kid with interests that swerved far from their own. I had struggled with this feeling of inadequacy ever since I was third or fourth grade, and I still do today, to a lesser extent; however, it is the truth that I shed most of it aside in pursuit of goals that aren’t shaped by what others want from me, but what I want from myself. See, after I had struggled in my sophomore year to keep my grades in school up, I realized how exhausted I was of school. Nothing in it interested me in the least besides ROTC, but the fun seemed to be drained out of that, too, when it was flanked by other daily downers that were my core classes. Out of resignation, at year’s end I signed up for any class, anything at all that would have sounded fun to be in. It was surely pure good luck that guided me to pick Chinese for my junior year language class. I had come into the class with zero expectations. I had wanted to study Japanese, but being that it was not available as a class in several states around, I took what I thought should be the next best thing; by that point, however, I was really sick of picking the lesser evil out of the lot. I walked in, saw at an empty table away from...

...What I am Not... I am not the top of my class, I am not the star of the varsity soccer team and I am not the most popular student at Turpin High School. This does not mean that I am not an excellent candidate for National Honor Society. Without being all the things that I previously mentioned, I firmly believe that I possess great attributes that allow me to be a leader, a scholar, and a honorable student. I have perseverance. During Varsity soccer tryouts this past year my self confidence was tested. Unfortunately, I found it was a struggle to make the Varsity team. I thought about quitting because I did not like the uncertainty and the feelings of insecurity that arose because of the situation. Sometimes people feel it is easier to quit than to push forward but I “pushed on”. In the end, I did make the Varsity team. I did not take the easy way out when soccer became...

...We went to the same schools growing up. I thought I finally had caught a break once I was enrolled in Sylvester Middle school in Burien, Washington. My mother’s first born had attended it, but as the school was seventh and eighth grade and we were two years apart, I had two years to myself at this school. I thought myself lucky, HE, no IT, wouldn’t be here I had thought. I was free I told myself. I readied myself for a new start, a fresh fun start. But how naive I was. I ended up with just about every teacher HE had. “You’re the little sister of Jose.” “OH! Are you the little sister of Jose?” “I’m so glad to have you in my class, Jose was a blast!” I would hear them say in anticipate, expecting me to be the little genius he was. To be...

...Cut open I wasn’t always smart, and sweet like today. I did a lot of dumb things and was so shy and I thought I was stupid. Mostly I didn’t like what did in the past. I still am a little shy but I learned to get over it. I’m not really dumb and might have lower classes but still. When I was five I did the most stuff wrong but let’s start with this. One day in November I woke up. I ate breakfast and finish up my chores. I went to school. For the next six hours I did work and learned a lot of stuff. By the time I got home it was time to play with my brother. We went out outside, played tag, and jumped rope. At lease twenty minutes later we went in dirt. My brother and I grabbed broken up cement and glass. My brother had big heavy winter boots on they approximately weighted five pounds....

...Totem Pole Freshman year; A pivotal time in every student's life which dictates the following high school years. Formally known as fresh meat, these individuals are on the bottom of the Totem Pole of Popularity. I, Quinn Jacob, am one of these vulnerable fourteen year olds who have just begun their ninth grade year. Being the geeky, unattractive, slightly appalling girl I am seen as, this is an ideal opportunity for me to transform into what my classmates describe as perfect. This, of course, begins with popularity, so I must find a way to climb the social ladder. At Rathward High there are five distinct social groups, each with different traits and standings unique to them. We have the Jocks, which consist of the majority of...

...Being in Peer2Peer is the first time that I have been around so many people with all different types of disabilities. In my high school, we had a very segregated special education program and therefore, we were very limited to the number of students we had in our classes that had disabilities. So going to this pizza party allowed me to get to know some people with disabilities which at first can be a little nerve-wracking because I did not want to say the wrong thing. However, after sitting and talking with a few of the guys I realized that we were all just people hanging out and getting to know each other. Now I am even Facebook friends with quite a few of the Inclusive U students and we will say hello when we see each other around...

...High school caught me off guard. Unlike middle school and elementary school where the schools were small and the teachers knew me somehow, high school was big and the changing of schedule every year made me an invisible student. I never communicated with my teachers or classmates. I felt like I should solve my problems on my own and had to be kept to myself. I heard my fellow classmate one day during my senior year talking to my English teacher about him being depress because he lost his friend in a car crash. If felt like he should’ve talk to his parents rather than talking to the teacher in front of the whole class. I realized that later in my life that it’s called being open minded, and it leads to a good friendship. It can be very helpful...
