Birth control can mean a wide range of things – from 'contraceptives' (used to reduce the chances of a woman becoming pregnant) to other ways of avoiding pregnancy, like not having sex. Contraceptives work by preventing a man’s sperm from fertilizing a woman’s egg, and can be done in several different ways. Students typically have a problem in distinguishing the difference between these two. Describe at least two methods of each and then explain why these are so easily confused. ...Throughout week one of the fit day challenge, I learned that my diet is not terrible but it could always use some improvements. According to the RDA standards, I was not consuming the appropriate amount of calories for my age, weight, and body type. Out of the twenty five hundred calories I was allotted I was only consuming anywhere from eighteen hundred to two thousand calories a day, even with all of the unnecessary snacking I do. On an average day, I am not consuming enough Vitamin A. According to RDA I should be having nine hundred micrograms of Vitamin A and with the help of carrots, broccoli, and most fruits I can increase my micrograms. When looking at the RDA for Vitamin E fifteen milligrams is the standard and I was well under that number. Leafy green vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, or broccoli are all great sources of Vitamin E that I can easily incorporate in to my diet to increase my milligrams. Fit day pointed out my deficiencies as well as my abundances in week one. My selenium levels compared to RDA were considered high almost every day during week one. Not really knowing what selenium was I researched it and found that it is required for thyroid gland to function proper and that it also helps to protect my body from cancers. Taking in too much selenium can cause bad breath, diarrhea, and hair loss. Chicken, turkey, whole grains and Brazil nuts (which happen to be one of my favorite snacks) are good sources of selenium. After reading all of this and having...

Chapter 14 1. Please explain how Charitable Contributions come into play in determining "Corporate" taxable income. (5 pts) Corporate gross income is firstly computed by summing up company’s gross income from sales and domestic dividends received. Subtract deductible expenses and NOL carryover from the corporate gross income and come up “adjusted taxable income.” The charitable contributions cannot exceed 10% of adjusted taxable income. Thus, the charitable contribution allowed in the current tax year is computed by adjusted taxable income x 10%. If the total charitable contribution exceeds 10% of adjusted taxable income, the difference will have to be carried over to the next tax year. 2. What happens to a loss on the Corporate Tax Return (Form 1120)? Does it pass through to the shareholders? Is it available for future or past periods? Please explain in detail. (5 pts.) Corporations can file capital loss when a loss incurred on the tax return. Corporate taxpayers can only claim capital loss to offset against capital...

...This assignment was designed put us, the student in a situation where we are placed in the supervisor position. In this assignment put the supervisor in a position of having to pick and choose what tasks to do themselves and what tasks should be delegated out after coming in and finding their basket full of tasks that need to be dealt with. When you obtain the position of supervisor, there is usually far too much for just you to do, therefore it is important to learn what to delegate and who to delegate it to. The most important tasks should be done by the supervisor but as far as things such as someone’s vacation hours and stocking merchandise for the store, those tasks should be delegated out to the assistant manager and to the store clerks. Being a supervisor means being in a role of leadership, logic, common sense, and decision making for yourself, the employees, and for the company. The “in Basket” debate and discussion gives us and our fellow classmates the opportunity to see if we can successfully delegate out certain tasks as a supervisor at a fictitious company. The discussion between me and fellow classmates was a great one and it appeared as though everyone agreed on everything accept for different incidents. The only two incidents where I came across disagreement were in regards to task number 3, and task number 4. These are the examples in which I will be using in this paper as far as disagreeing is concerned. Task number 3 is in regards to the mall hours changing...
