How to Study more efficiently Students all face procrastination every now and then as we delay our work until the very last moment. This is because of different reasons which include the lack of confidence and motivation. After a busy day at school, they end up delaying your studies until the day is almost over. Then they realize that they are tired and need to head to bed. At that moment your nerves start to tingle and you become worried about the due date of the assignment. To help you pass through this phase, I have formulated a procedure to make use of the limited time they have to complete assignments and study more effectively.
To begin with, you are going to need the self-confidence that you are ready to face the books and finish this task once and for all. The moment you have this in your mind, you won’t have any distractions. This helps you concentrate, maintain your focus on what you are about to study and become capable of visualizing your goal.
After that, you are going to need to isolate yourself to complete your studies so that there are no distractions which may set you off course. It is better to sit in a small room where family members or roommates do not come very often so that you have the privacy to study. Simultaneously, you are going to need a clear desk which has no unnecessary materials on it except the books and copies you are going to use. It will be to your advantage to assure that everything you might need to complete the task is present on the desk; this may include your stationary or any other source of information. Having some snacks on the table will help you get rid of the hunger urges that come as distractions during your study routine. Now sitting there alone you are going to start reading the materials or sources of information. This reading will not only let you understand the topic but it also makes you capable of understanding how the author of the book states the answers and what your teacher expects. By reading the context, you begin to recognize patterns which gradually build a foundation in your memory. As you finish reading a paragraph, it’s a good habit to note down some important points which help you recall the memory as you give the points a look afterwards. These notes should be precise but also informative. You notice that once you have read the paragraph, you are able to construct brief notes with your own wording proving to you that the reading has been successful. One by one, jot down these notes on several pages until they reach the limit of the task assigned. Your task is not yet complete. Now you need a good night sleep before you go to class the next morning. Sleeping plays an important role in your study routine if it is done on time. By having some sleep, you are able strengthen the foundation of your memory and it makes you active and ready to face and test you have. WARNING! Sleeping should be done on time and if it is not done so, you may face drowsiness and the lack of concentration. Once you leave your home to head for school, you should have your notes in your hands to revise each and every point. You are going to continue doing this until you have 30 minutes left before the test. When the 30 minute countdown begins you are going to relax by mentally revising each note. This strategy helps you face any complications face when you have to study better in less time. After walking out of the examination hall you are going to be happy that you have dealt with the situation accordingly which may as well lead to a good mark. Now you are to go home, relax for a certain period of time then starting studying for tests that are yet to come.

... * Exams make people better at the subject * content tested in exams are random, so people study everything * since it affects grades, people study harder * there is competition, people study harder * They help the teacher to know what material the students have not mastered and need to study further * They give people important practice in dealing with stress, which can help later on with life's challenges. * The examination system has its own benefits. It's like a self-test to see where we are and how good we fare in something that we do. The purpose of exam has always been a test to let us, human beings, to know our limits and our standards. * Frankly speaking, who can put his/her hand on their heart and say that they would have learned the lessons regarding different subjects themselves if the present examination system were not there and didn't made the students to learn and understand the topics dealing with different subjects to perform at the end of the year. The ANSWER would be No, They wouldn't have. Exams should not be abolished.  Until a better form of demonstrating knowledge comes along, exams must remain in place. In the world of occupations, exams are especially useful.  A given state, county, town, or other regionally-governed area requires certain knowledge for certain occupations.  The most effective way of evaluating an individual's knowledge of a given topic is the use of exams.  These can be written exams, oral exams, tests...

...not the case. As the first module usually studied when pursuing a Professional Certificate in Marketing, its three-hour exam demands preparation. The exam is broken into two parts. Part A requires candidates to answer 10 short questions, each carrying four marks. Part B includes three questions based on a case study, each carrying 20 marks. The following tips tell you how to successfully approach and complete all of them. Tip 1: Be concise. It is important to take note of the answer length you need to provide based on the marks awarded for it. In Part A, candidates are asked to provide short answers. In fact, try not to write more than five to six lines for a two-mark question. Addressing the requirements is all that is needed. Tip 2: Understand the questions. Part B requires a very different approach. They are designed to test your ability to apply theory to a given context. They always raise key points and students are required to identify these points to contextualise the answers. For example, a question could be as follows: “As a marketing manager of a newly formed manufacturing company in the fashion industry, you are required to recommend a suitable pricing strategy that will help the company to grow.”  In this question, the key words are “newly formed”, “manufacturing company”, “fashion industry” and “grow”. Tip 3: Allocate your time. The exam being set for three hours (180 minutes), it implies that the maximum time that you could spend for one mark is 1.8 minute...

Love and Failure

...my parents how well I had done. It was always a good feeling to know that they were also proud of what I had accomplished. Likewise, when I made grades that were less than desirable, I tended to avoid telling my parents about it until I absolutely had to or they found out when I brought home my progress report. In the chapter on Motivation and Emotion, Bernstein, Penner, Clarke-Stewart, and Roy (2012) talk about achievement motivation and people’s need to achieve. He says that people with high achievement mastery are more likely to strive for excellence. This caught my interest because my father often tell me to strive for excellence in everything I do. As I did when I was a child, I still find myself excited to tell him when I have achieved excellence. Moller, Elliot, and Friedman (2008) study this in great detail to help explain why student feel a connection to their attachment to their parents and their perceived performance on exams. Moller, Elliot and Friedman conducted two studies. In the first study of 62 males and 120 females, with an average age of 19.5, they measured students’ perceived closeness to their parents after taking an exam, but before receiving any kind of feedback on the exam. They believed they would find a positive relation between the students’ mastery-goals and feelings of closeness to their parents (Moller, Elliot, & Friedman 2008). They concluded this first study in saying that more a student went for mastery-approach goals for the exam, the closer...
