How to Improve Employee Motivation Unfortunately there has been a huge decrease of employee motivation in the workplace, which has negatively affected the whole atmosphere as well as the company’s finances. With that being said, there are ways that we can resolve this issue. According to my research, there are three main solutions that will work on improving our employee’s motivation. These solutions are to: communicate better, be an example and empower others to succeed. The first solution to motivation is to communicate better in the office. Listening is the first step that is key to communicating effectively. One must give their complete and undivided attention when someone else is talking with out any interruptions in order to receive the full message. After listening, comes paying close attention to the speaker or receiver’s body language. If someone is crossing their arms this means they are emotionally unavailable. Other cues include touching one’s ear or nose which can mean that the person is either uncomfortable or they are uninterested in what the other person is saying. If someone is uninterested or uncomfortable, the best thing to do is to start with an icebreaker or say something personable. Another helpful tip is to observe someone’s tone as well as your own. Tones can come off as being too casual or too aggressive. It is best to say things in a firm way but not too aggressive because then that can frighten the person on the other end and this may make them not want to do that task to their full ability. The next solution is to be an example towards employees. If someone in a higher position like a boss or manager for example, makes a rule for their employees like to not talk on the phone yet they are seen talking on their phone multiple times, then their
