...was a great summer vacation for my family and I this summer. This vacation brought back memories of my childhood. That twelve-year-old girl still lives within me. The waterslide, wave pool and concession stands were exciting to me at the age twelve. At the age of thirty-nine my impression of the park was different because I had self-control, but the same excitement flowed heavily through my veins as my family and I enjoyed each festivity. I felt like a kid in the candy store as we enjoyed our family vacation in the city of Dothan. The fifteen feet yellow slide was scary and exciting all at the same time. At the age of twelve, getting on the slide for me was a challenge. I can remember my cousins and friends encouraging me to walk up the entry way to get on the slide. So this summer my husband and kids had urged me to walk up the entry way to the slide. The lifeguard instructed me on how to sit on the mat before pushing me down the slide. At the age of thirty-nine I felt my heart pounding and butterflies crawling in my stomach. I screamed with excitement. I did not use profanity or try to get off the mat that was underneath me this time, plunging into the water, with the lifeguard standing in the middle of the pool sent chills down my spine. I continued to repeat this activity over and over again. The excitement was overwhelming. The big, ocean blue wave pool was in the middle of the water park. At age twelve my friends and I did a lot of horse playing in the big wave pool...

...developmental aspects of human growth in my life and as I integrate Erickson’s eight stages of development into my 48 years of life, I found that many of my transitional tasks were delayed, or not developed according to Erickson’s time frame. This might be due to the dysfunctional lifestyle, neglected childhood and promiscuous teenage years I had and it has taken me many years to develop my sense of identity, my sense of intimacy, and to change my behavior (Feldman, 2011). In the argument of Piaget he says that children at the age of three to five years think abstractly and this affects their motor development (Boyd, 2006). The first ten years of my childhood was confused, isolated, and fearful. I lived with my grandparents and I never could understand why I wasn’t with my parents who were able to take care of my two oldest brothers. I was so tormented in my mind. The devil came in to steal, kill, and destroy me at an early age. I always felt as an outcast and I remembered other children making fun of me calling me names to where I isolated myself from them. My grandmother was a Christian and we went to church in which I loved church. We lived in the country on a farm and I did not like to go out in the open because of the children in the community making fun of me but we had to walk to church. I was afraid and always crying, hiding under beds, or in the closets (Lincoln, 2014). At the age of five I was molested. This tore me up and I told my grandparents and parents but they did not...

...Memorandum I am writing this memorandum to document to the hospital and my colleagues the process in which I have taken to pick a heart transplant. The decision must be made in a timely manner. However, it needs to be made in proficient ethic manner as well. I have 3 patients awaiting a heart transplant and will need to schedule surgery immediately after the decision is made. The three patients are Jerry a male at age 55, Lisa a female at age 12, and Ozzy a male at age 38. Jerry is a mid-level manager for a carpet distribution facility and is soon retiring. He seems to be the only source of income in his house for his wife has no education beyond high-school and is a stay at home mother. He also has 3 kids, 1 of which is currently in college. The heart damage was caused by a use of steroids in his 20s when he was into body building. It is very likely that if Jerry receives the heart transplant that he will live 10-15 years longer. It is crucial that he receives a heart transplant immediately since he is the only source of income for his house-hold. Lisa has suffered from illness all of her life. She also has Lupus like symptoms in the sense that she is a poor immune system when it comes to getting viral infections. She is the only child in the family and her parents can no longer bear any more children. She developed the heart issues due to a bad dispute of pneumonia last year when her heart completely stopped. Also due to having health problems all of her life it is not likely...

...(3RAI Activity 2) HR Absence 1.0 Introduction I have selected Ace International Food Pvt. Ltd. for the 3RAI Activity. I have selected this organization in order to find out the causes of the absence of the employees inside the organization. The Human Resources (HR) Department needs to play a key role in reaching to the correct conclusion (Kemeny, 2012). 1.1 Considerations for the Paper In this paper, I have focused upon the women employees for finding their causes of absence inside the organization. There are about 427 females working in this organization and are working in Departments A and B. 1.2 Analysis and interpretation of the data i. The average age of the working women in this organization is 37.52 years. The youngest employee is with the age of 21 and the oldest employee is with the age of 63. This shows that, there are employees who are reaching the age of 40s, and hence, can suffer from several traumas and diseases. ii. The average working days for these women is found to be 17.78 days. Therefore, out of the given approximately 25 working days, the working output is approximately 71.12%. This can be improved by reducing the number of absentees. iii. The average hour during which a particular employee remains sick is 11.94 hours. This shows that during these hours these employees will be remaining non-productive. In addition, in addition, they might take leave for the entire day, even if they feel low for just one hour. This is shown in Chart...

...What impacts the behaviors of individuals? There are several characteristics that contribute to this such as age, attitude, education and gender. How do these impact each other in the work place? Diversity plays a large role in the work place, many people working together daily and having to deal with many things that they may not agree with. Age Age impacts people in a few ways there is stereotyping, ageism and discrimination. Many workers that are over the age of 40 are considered ‘old’ and these people are thought to be ‘set in their ways’ and not willing to chance. This is not necessarily the truth, but they are more likely to be seen this way, this causes more discrimination and in turn more law suits. A perfect example of this is my father-in-law. He is in his 70’s and has been retired for 8 years, but he likes to work a couple of days a week to keep himself active. The move from another state proved to be very difficult for him to find work; he looked for 7 months before he was actually able to find work. This may not be because of his age, but he has been working for over 50 years finding a job one would think would be somewhat easy. Attitude Attitude impacts individuals in the workplace in one of two ways either negative or positive. One that has a positive attitude in the work place going to be do better at the job, whereas a person that has a negative attitude is more likely going to work as little as they can. One of the best ways to have a positive attitude...

...How can we describe a matured student? Could you say that you are already a matured student? Do you think that being matured is about the age or the years of existence? Well, that is not right because maturity is not about the age, instead, maturity is marked by the qualities of self-denial, determination, and dependability. The first important quality that can be found in a matured student is self-denial. We can see that self-denial is possessed by a student when he/she prioritizes or gives more importance to the needs of other people than himself/herself. There are many examples where we students experience self-denial, first is when we just want to relax or go to the mall, we don’t do it instead we just study our lessons. Another example is that when I was not able to join my high school friends when they asked me to hang-out with them because there was an upcoming examination that I will take. Another characteristic that can be found in a matured student is determination. Determination is about not giving up even if things or situations are getting more difficult. In order to be determined, we should think of our motivation in reaching our goals. As students, if we are really determined, we would still study and prove that we can do our bests even if our teachers put us down. Also, if we fail, we should stand up and don’t lose hope to make things right. Last, but probably the most important measure of maturity is dependability. Dependability is a characteristic possessed...

...Experiences/Motivation/Desire Transition: My past experiences and morals have played an important role in wanting to be a great father. BODY Main Point #1: A major experience that played an important role in my life was my upbringing. Supporting Material: 1. At a very young age my parents separated and divorced. 2. This made it difficult to have a full relationship with both of my parents from an early age. Both of my parents were and still are very involved in my life, but never together. 3. At the time it was hard to understand why my own parents couldn’t communicate themselves. Transition: These experiences I have just described helped me grow and become independent. Main Point #2: At the age of 12 my little brother was born. Supporting Material: 1. From an early stage I enjoyed watching him learn and grow. 2. ...The message here is the importance of having hair and how it boosts confidence and self-esteem in men. I choose these photo’s because it shows how men look at themselves in the mirror. Hair Club for men targets men between the ages of 35 to 54, and I choose a range of photos of men between this age group. The first photo shows a man looking at himself in the mirror viewing his residing hair line and his hair loss. The second photo I choose, is of a man who has a full head of hair and can have it style in anyway. This can potentially be what it can be like for a man who has a residing hair line or hair loss, and after participating with Hair Club for can have a full head of hair that can be styled. The third photo I choose also is of a gentleman who has a full head of hair that can easily be kept short and taken care of. Those who would like a full head of care can have this look as well if they are not looking for long, flowing locks. The fourth photo is of an older man who is checking out his hair looks, and what he can potentially to gain back his hair. The last photo I choose is a man with long hair that full and can be easily styled. Men, who are struggling with hair loss what the hair that these men have and with trying Hair Club for men, can achieve this...

...self-sufficiency. I can shamefully admit that, as a child, I was extremely dependent on everyone around me for everything I did. I was most dependent on my family, including my mom, dad, sister, and cousins. From age ten to twelve I became extremely needy that I started to develop severe laziness. I was so lazy that one day I had asked my cousin to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, to which she replied no and demanded I make it myself. The only response my sluggish mind could utter was, “But I do not know how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich,” which was an absolute lie. It was as if I began to view my family as my servants. Rarely would I do anything for myself. All I had to say was “I want this” and it would become mine. I was given money, clothes, toys, and food whenever I wanted. I developed into an incompetent child. When I turned thirteen years old, my parents started to act stricter and enforced more rules. This was a turning point in my life because I finally understood that I could not be successful in life by relying on anyone else but myself. From that moment on, I focused all my energy on transforming myself into an independent individual. Personally, I believe a person who is independent portrays characteristic traits such as self-determination, self-sufficient, and self-reliant. In order to change myself from a lazy, reliant person into a young lady depicting the traits of an independent I realized I had to rid myself of old habits. Initially, I took my...

...character strengths affect our subjective well-being. She defines this type of well-being as “the cognitive and emotional evaluations of our lives”. (Gillham) Her studies have shown that character strengths have been previously found to relate inversely with behavior issues like depression and suicide. In her most recent study, she focuses on whether or not character strengths like honesty and happiness and whether or not our strengths say anything about our overall well-being. However, in this particular study, I think there are far too many factors to actually correlate information between the two as anything more than coincidence. One’s character strengths could potentially correlate with overall well-being, as long as one knows how to use these character strengths and embraces them. “The strengths that are most connected to well-being are well factored by mood.” -(Gillham) Some of the key strengths tested all have to do with emotions that are very delicate at this age range. Freshman year of high school can be a very high or low point for students and has the capability to change very quickly. The article even concludes that “people who experience positive emotions frequently may also experience negative emotions frequently.” (Gillham) Therefore, it’s hard to judge that when one is tested if they...

...Value of Diversity at the Workplace University of Phoenix Diversity is a word used most often to describe the different types of race, religion, and nationalities but in today's business world, it is used to explain the special individual behaviors of workers. Diversity is about individuality and demographics that differ from person to person and how they influence person behavior. To appreciate how diversity impacts the work place one should be able to identify skill and abilities, Values and attitudes, and have an open mind about Age and gender. Skills and knowledge are imperative considerations for a manager when choosing to hire a person. There are various tests to measure mental aptitudes and abilities. Some of these provide an overall intelligent quotient (IQ) score. Others provide measures of more specific competencies of people entering various educational programs or career field. Such tests are designed to facilitate the screening and selection of applicants for educational programs or jobs. Some jobs, such as firefighters and police, require tests for physical abilities. Muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance are two of many physical ability dimensions. For instance, one of the requirements for joining the military is that you have to take and pass the ASVAT exam. It is important to do your best because if you are just trying to pass the exam you may not like the kind of job that you will be doing while serving the Armed...
