I deserve a raise One of the most important things in my life is my job. I have been working with you for five years. I am a worker that follows all the rules, and I have accomplished all the goals of the company. I have always listened to you with respect. My time management, dealing with a lot of stress and my excellent experience and performance in Little Caesar are reasons why I deserve a raise. First of all, time management is a key factor in this company. Deadlines, demands, goals and priorities are a list of things I have to manage everyday. For example, the most busy days I have to create a work plan to lead a big team with organization and control. With this work plan I save a lot of time, and the day will flow smoothly. That means a big responsibility for me, because I have to take extra effort and greater motivation to keep a good environment in the workplace. Also, I have to deal with the demands of the costumers on time and accomplish the weekly goals of the company. I perform labor scheduling, food ordering and cleanliness. I know what I want to be and do because “if you do not plant the seeds, you will end up with weeds.” Excessive stress can interfere with the productivity of the company. I have always demonstrated you that I can deal with immense stress and pressure. For example, many stressful situations can happen in the workplace. One day a new worker was taking all the orders and preparing pizzas, but he was working a little bit slow. He called me for help and with satisfaction I helped him. About five minutes later, one costumer talked to me in an angry mood. He was complaining about the long wait. I tried to explain why the long wait, but he couldn't understand me. I have been dealing with these type of stressful situations during five

Hello

...daycares, that clean dishes at your favorite restaurant, and stock our selves at the grocery store. They do not get paid holidays to spend with their families, or vacation time to relax. These are the people that are getting up to barely make ends meet. Someone has to do these jobs for business to run and make a profit. If you ask me they deserve a raise. I do however on the other hand understand why some people are against increasing the minimum wage. How much does a person deserve to get paid that has little or no college education that is flipping burgers for us at the nearest McDonalds? The answer I have to that is enough to not be living in poverty. Also, from my experience working in the food service is no easy task and for someone who is working hard they shouldn’t have to work over a half hour for just one gallon of gas. Another thing is that small business owners especially don’t want the minimum wage to increase so they don’t have to pay their employees more for doing the same task they were doing before the increase. Small business owners though out of everyone should understand that times do get tough and everyone deserves a wage they can live off of. Maybe if their employees were paid more they would do a better job and care for the business more. If the minimum wage was higher maybe many capable...

Tigermom

...way is the right way to raise a child? Is it with a stern hand? Or maybe to give your child slack reins? There is no concrete answer for the best way to raise a child, but everybody has an opinion. The tiger mother, Chua, has a strong opinion about raising children. She raises her children the way her father raised her. Her father was a Chinese man, so she calls the raising method “The Chinese way”. “The Chinese way” is raising your children with a stern hand! As she says it herself: “The Tiger, the living symbol of strength and power, generally inspires fear and respect”. The tiger mother has two daughters – Sophia and Louisa (Lulu). They are never allowed to do things like attend a sleepover, have a play date, get any grades less than A, watch television and play videogames, etc. Parenting in Denmark is different to “The Chinese way”. The Danish Parents are generally less strict than most Chinese parents. I think the Danish parents are busy but considerate people. The Danish parents I know are very supportive and helpful people. They do not push their children to the limit. The Danish children have to take themselves to the limit if they feel for it. Also there is an assumption from the Danish parents to their children no matter circumstances contrary to the Chinese parents. Chinese children have to highly respect and impress their parents to get their acceptance. People from other countries would generally say that Danish children are spoiled. I think most parents want to...

Studen's Work Ethic

...reason why students are in a learning environment. College professors can get the idea of what type of person a student is just by seeing how students approach their studies. Ciulla states that many students believe that they are “Entitled to Do-Over.” This is when students receive their test or assignments and see that the grade they received is not what they want; a majority of them ask the teacher if there is any way to improve the score despite it being the final grade. Students will do whatever it takes to raise their grade even when they are aware that they do not deserve the extra points. They aren’t aware that they don’t deserve a higher grade. They just think they deserve higher because they simply re-do the assignment. Ciulla makes a reference to clock punching. “Clock Punching” is done in the workplace, where employees punch in the time they worked from and the time they finished. Employees are paid by the hour. Like so, students are saying that they deserve a higher grade on an assignment because they spent so much time working on it. Students overlook the time they spent on an assignment when they should be looking at...

Are Athletes Overpaid

...could make millions a year for playing a sport you are good at and love doing. I believe that athletes are paid what they deserve and that it is no different than working for a large, money making company. I believe that they deserve to get paid this amount of money because they devote their lives to training and improving at their job. Athletes who are a valuable asset to their team, get paid more then rookies just coming into the league. If you are a rookie, then you would probably make about $500,000 a year. Once you gain experience, then your pay goes up. It is the same as in a business, if you do well, then you get a raise. If you do badly, then you get fired, or in this case, released. In Major League Baseball, the highest paid athlete is Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees, who in 2007 signed a 10-year, $275 million contract, making $27.5 million per year. However, Alex Rodriguez is far behind the whopping 7.8 billion a year made by Bill Gates. Athletes get paid a lot of money because the professional sports industry is a huge business with millions of fans going to games each year. Players get most of their money from endorsements and from the fans buying merchandise and going to games. Professional athletes only make about 1% of an organizations total earnings. Some people might say that athletes don't deserve the money they get because they don't work hard for it. I would say that athletes have to deal with injury and fatigue, something that people...

Final Project En 1410

...part in the declining value of a high school education. High school graduates are forced to go to college to get a decent job, and even then it is a huge gamble weather or not they will get work. The graduation rate of high school graduates have raised over the years. When I was growing up, there were no ‘consolation’ trophies because your team was last and teachers did not curve your bad grade because everyone else had a good grade. Earning a trophy – even for third place – was exciting because you or your team was good enough to beat the other kids. You tried harder and did better and got to stand with your trophy and certificate and have your fifteen minutes of fame as your parents took pictures and, subsequently, told their friends about your accomplishment and showed off the pictures and your award. I can remember a time when I was in middle school and I had a good friend that went by the name Robert. Robert was very smart but wouldn’t try in school. He was passed when he did next to no work. We both went into high school and stayed friends, but here he was forced to work a little harder but he didn’t learn anything. Let’s fast forward to today, we have been out of high school for years. Should Student Athletes Be Paid Essay

...Would you dedicate over 40 hours a week to something without getting paid? Well, there are many people and even sports fans alike that believe college athletes do not deserve to be paid; but they do not realize everything they are going through. They must work harder to get all of their work done and reach their goals while participating in sport. This leaves little time for students to hold a job. By achieving their team goals they earn money for their school and athletics programs. Their contribution goes unrecognized, their fans only pay attention to the scores...

Case Study the Overpaid Bank Teller

...The Overpaid Bank Teller Human Resource Management 1. If you were on the bank’s HR Committee, what would you do regarding raises for the tellers? I think first of all the State Bank should not base their wages off of a wage survey conducted by a competitor. Utilizing a third party to conduct a wage survey before making such a decision would be a much better option. I also think that lowering the raises that the teller will receive, as they have not been told how much their raises would be. Therefore reducing raises does not seem like it would have an impact on the employee satisfaction or their productivity. 2. How much faith should the HR Committee place in the accuracy of the wage survey? “Obtaining a wage or salary survey requires a small or large business to hire an outside company to compile the data or collect the information using individual employees and businesses from across the particular industry. This data is necessary for a business to create competitive salary packages and to comply with state and federal regulations regarding prevailing wages”. Lister., J There are some things that I think should be considered in regards to a wage survey. What other information is missing? Do the other banks have Spanish speaking individuals? Are the tellers the only ones that speak Spanish or are the loan officers also bilingual? People that are bilingual are often paid more than their counter parts that only speak one language. It is also lacking...

Ariana Grande Attacks

...Give yourself peace of mind. You deserve to be happy. You deserve delight.” In this quotation Arendt links the issue of violence back to “the individual”. This means that she is exposing the personal “benefits” that dedicating yourself to the good would have. She suggests that if a person dedicates himself to the good, we will be happier as an individual. Additionally by being a kind person, you will receive the kindness that you deserve from the other good people around you. So in some way it suggests that some equality in the sense that if you do not commit any violent acts, other people will not be violent towards you. However this can be said not to be true as so many innocent civilian become victims of violent assault, such as in our real life situation of the attacks at the Ariana Grand concert where over many innocent children, teenagersand adults were injured and killed. This leads us to the next topic of equality. Hannah Arendt engaged in forming an equal society....

The Right to Live

...abortion. Abortion should not be looked upon as a sin, or murder, but rather as a medical procedure that could give a woman a better, and even safer choice. Shaming a woman for seeking an abortion is heinous, especially if the pregnancy could be harmful to the mother’s heath. Religion is not something that should decide whether or not a woman has a right to do what she feels is best for her own body. The most common reason why some women seek an abortion is because they are young. (Why Women Choose Abortion) Many women who give birth as teens never finish high school, and do not have the necessities to raise a child such as; financial stability. Although I agree that abortion should not be used as a contraceptive method, I also believe that every child deserves a good home. If a mother herself is still growing up, and does not feel suitable to raise a child for the next eighteen years then that is her right to make the choice to not start something she cannot finish. Abortions also happen because of social pressure. When a specific gender is preferred, or when governments enforce population control, women often have to resort to unsafe practices. Countries that are strict in abortive laws have more women who confide in unsafe abortions. Women who have been raped, or are...

Justice By Richard Rodriguez Lopez Summary

...Why did everyone made a big deal with Denny and not with Lopez, if they both had the same tragic accident in the same day and both of the accidents were captured? There could be much reason but only one is the true because they’re both humans and they both deserve justice for what they did to them. In my own opinion I can say that it was about races because by the time United stated was going through a races problem. I believe that they didn't see Lopez as a good citizen because he was born in Guatemala. In my opinion I feel like that's why Lopez didn't get justice because he was not an American and he was an immigrant. But they were both people they both deserve the same justice. The author of the story look for over 20 years because he couldn't find anything about Lopez but he knew something had happen to him because a video was capture the day of the accident. He looked for clues but he couldn't get a hold of him and his family. Anywhere that he would look they would have any type of information about Lopez. Characteristics Of African-American Citizens

...been defined that way by these evil, living organisms. People with the most power, seem to assume that they can do anything because they are above the law. Just because they have more money, it’s okay, because they can pay for it, or because they're white they can do anything because white people don't hurt anyone. Lies that are filled in most people’s minds about our leaders should be made clear. That’s what I want to abbreviate about the world's problems. This year, thousands of African-Americans, Hispanics, Muslims and other races and religions, have suffered from the racial tensions between police officers, or even by the presidential elections that have been held this year. In fact, Donald trump gives us no reason to believe that he is not racist. He already told us that he is going to ship anyone that is not his color, back to where they have migrated from. ...Unfamiliar with the movie “I Am Sam,” I recently thought I would see it. “I Am Sam” tells the story of the financial struggle of a father who is determined to raise his daughter by himself. The hardest part in this situation is that the father is mentally handicapped and lives with just his daughter. However, he still manages to raise her. Directed by Jessie Nelson, this film encourages society to think differently when choosing who deserves to possess and care for a child. The law can try to state that those who are mentally handicapped are incapable to raise a child, but this movie, “I Am Sam,” disproves that. At his daughter’s seventh birthday party, Sam loses ownership over his daughter because of an incident that happened just as a social worker happened to arrive. A sympathizing lawyer finds Sam and fights to help Sam keep his daughter. There’s a chance that his daughter could be lost to him for the rest of his life. Friends of Sam, who knew him before the birth of his daughter, testify on his behalf. While doing so, they have to prevail over their own handicap issues. Because this trail is long and tedious, Sam’s daughter is taken to a foster family to care for her in the meantime. Not only has Sam lost his daughter, for now but he’s also receiving harsh criticism from the foster parents. They despised him and would not let him near his daughter. They threatened him even more by saying they were planning on adopting her, so his visiting should cease. Sam seems to be...
