Wanting and needing something are two different things. Usually the things you want are cooler than what you need. For example I would rather have Huey and play Fortunate Son all the time than have a house, but a Huey isn’t as important as a house. But since I have those I take them for granted but that’s because I live in a first world country and don’t have to worry about terrorism, disease, starvation, or anything dangerous. I think you should be happy with what you have and wanting more will bring bad luck or something. Or about a town that is in an ugly dangerous place. The town itself is ugly but the lesson about what happened isn’t. I don’t know what happened to the town because I didn’t get the story but I’m going to guess some people got greedy and used up a lot of resources which made thee land and rivers uninhabitable.
